hey I'm going be doing a Hilux rear end conversion into my corolla, I'm looking at getting an 8" lsd rear end from an early model hilux, but its a 5 stud axle, is it possible to convert this to 4 stud ?, il be shortening the diff housing to fit it into my car, so would i be best just to get some custom axles made up or is there some out there which are strong that i can use which will be able to handle 400hp ? cheers David

Hi ya. We have a hilux surf 1988, turbo. We travel with the air-con on and go up a hill and we loose power and temp gauge goes into the red, only does this when air-con is on. Temp goes back down when you go along the flat. Only started doing this 1yr ago. We have had the following done: radiator, hoses, thermostat, temp sensor, pressure test-hot and cold, added an extra fan on the front. Have had it to 2 diesel blokes without success. Use to get 400 to 450 ks now only get 350 ks. think thats about it. thanks debbie

hey guys, i've come across a 92-93 holden nova sedan for a good price which i am going to pick up later this week. it has a few issues (as it should for the price), which will need to be fixed for RWC. the first thing is the drivers door, which has been rooted after a ute backed into it. i am assuming that the doors should be the same from ae90/92 4door corollas... will they fit? also the 4afe in it is supposedly seized or something. no idea really until i get it home and start fiddling. even if it needs a new engine, i imagine i can pick up a 4afe for not to much $$. the car will never be intended as a ground shaker or anything, just something reliable, comfy an…

Have had this theory for a while now.... Most rev-limiters work by cutting power to the coil temporarly. A convention change over relay can be used to 2 main ways: To power something when triggered, or to cut power to something when triggered. This is as simple as wiring the item to be powered to pin 87a rather than 87. So......by doing this you can easily cut the power from your coil when triggered. Next bit is the trigger!!! Many tacho's are avaiable with shift lights, and these can come on at basically any desired RPM. By patching into the wires for the shift light, you can get a your relay trigger at any RPM! This is easy with any conventional 12v bulb, b…

Don't know if this is going to be relevant here so I will post it and you can all let me know. On the weekend I rejetted my carbs on my motorbike and they needed to be sync'ed afterwards. Thanks to the magic of the internet I was able to find a site that told me how to make a homemade manometer (to my surprise it doesn't measure manliness) that measures the vacuum between each carb. Was a bit fiddly but once you got the hang of it really easy. Also saved buying a carb sync tool. All up cost $5 to rig the thing up. Anyway I thought i would post up the link used in case anyone here running twin carbs on their cars would need to do the same thing. http://faq.ninja25…

i've heard that spot welding at certain points in the chassis helps stiffen the car. does anyone have info on the proper procedure for this? i tried searching the net but can't find any. btw, i'm putting together a 74 te27 corolla so the original body is really old. that's why i'm looking for ways to stiffen the chassis. without resorting to the installation of a roll cage. thanks

Hey there, I'm wondering how big of an ordeal would it be to put a 1jz-ge into a 1983, manual Ke70? How much money would I be looking at roughly to do this? And is it worth it in the end? My apologies if this is a dumb question, pretty new to this.

Hi, I'm Clyde, 20, from the Philippines. First of all, I don't have a KE70, but I do have a 9thgen Corolla with a 1ZZ-FE and had a 4A-FE AE92 DX. I'm here to ask on how to build the 7K engine from my Tamaraw FX/Kijang, it has a 7K-C much like the pre-'99 Lite-Ace from Australia and the KE70s you guys install it in. I'm decided to get the engine built-up by the end of November if I get the right parts... My plans are to PnP the head, new valve stems and springs, maybe change compression to 9.5:1, replace the cam to a better one, adjustable sprockets, upgrade the ignition to an MSD Coil, a better mapped and more stable distributor and high-tension wires, 4-2-1 headers, stra…

Can anyone help me with how to fit an after market tacho to my AE92 Rolla? I got it on ebay and the instructions where vague as. I asked my old man and he said where's the coil in the old days you just used to connect the electric tacho to either side of the coil and your dash lights for night time. I am a first time noob so go easy.

Hi all, I just got an AE82 with a 4AGE nice deal for only $200 but it needs a new clutch, I'm new to FWD cars i have never worked on them before just need to know what the best approach I should take towards this? I have heard that in some FWD cars u need to take the engine out to get to the gear box/clutch I'm hoping in this case that I can just take every thing out that’s in the way and slide the gear box off the engine.

Hey everyone, how much would it cost for a gregorys manual for a ke55? i keep finding them on websites for around 60-80 dollars, theres none on ebay atm, but ive searched and foudn that alot of you on here have them. I'm pretty sure wherever i go they will have to be ordered in, I'm just wanting a heads up so i don't get my pants pulled down over the price. I'm hoping its around 40, same as the manuals they have in stock at supercheap.
