well i sold my ke30 during the week and went and bought this the plan is to have a go at drifting and in my opinion this is a great car to learn in as the body isnt the best and it can't be regoed so it doesnt matter if i dent it :laff: the best part about it is it's already set up for sliding with the suspention consisting of ae86 front struts, new shocks and vl springs, ae86 vented disks and calipers with braided lines and corona control arms. whilst the rear end has new boge turbo rear shocks and falcon springs making the car stiff as f**k the drive train is pretty much done with the exeption of a cracked piston ring which is as simple as a rebuild to fix s…

I recently bought a 82 ksev thats not running for a project! Hoping to one day soon take it to the track and drift professionally. I'm only young and have only a little bit of mechanic experience but i'm hoping to learn from experience. Theres not much i can say other than the car wasnt in great condition when i bought it but i'm not really fussed as i only payed $180 for the whole thing. It was full of old car shit for another car of his that he has to come pick up soon,so the passenger seat was taken out. When the guy owned the car it was originally a flat front, but he sold the flat front and the manual pedal box to a bloke who gave him a dark blue slanty front …

After waiting 5 long years i finally have another corolla to play with, My first car was a ke55 which i purchased of its original owner, had a 4k in it converted to 5 speed, only done 70000kms with log books, i mean this thing was immaculate, at the time i was doing engine reco as an apprentice so i started building a 4agze supercharged over turbo for it, all my apprentice pay was going onto my baby. spent 15 months building and working and building and working on it till doom day happened, i was out in the city one night having the time of my life with my mates when i returned home someone had taken at it with a sledgehammer (a case…

Hey guys, havn't been a member on here long but have been a long time rolla fan having owned a couple of Ke70s years ago. Anyway, here is my latest purchase. 1970 ke20 with 78,000 on the clock. It's a stock 3k and toyoglide at the moment. There is one small spot of rust in the engine bay 3cm long which is being cut out and welded when it gets a fresh coat of paint in the next couple of months. Anyway I bought the car around 8 weeks ago from a guy who had bought it off the original owner only a couple of months prior. It has EVERY SINGLE service reciept, original service manual and log book and even the original purchase reciept for $2105.40 . I have …

Hey Guys As I'm not making AJD I thought I might as-well put up a thread :P Have been a bit absent from the scene last year or so, sold my KE70 mid 09, bought a T18, sold that, bought a 5K KE70, swapped that for nickyboys KE30, sold that to greenmac80 and now driving a 95 Hiace haha. So quick summary of the history of my KE25: Basically it was a Adelaide Hills car, from Inglewood/Paracombe. Found by Mattie and Chris while doing a hills run. Old guy had it sitting out front for sale. This was start of 2007. I bought it mid 07. Car had been off the road for (now) 19 years. Here is a link to my old thread when I first got it: http://www.rollaclub.com/b…

Hey all, I just signed up here, as I just got my first rolla. You can read the history here: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/53773-n00b-just-checking-in/ Here's what I am starting with. A 1978 Corolla 1,166 cc engine and a four-speed manual trans. It has a pretty solid body, but has a few rust spots and bubbles in the paint. The under carriage needs some new pans and other sheet metal work. The interior is solid but needs reupholstered. Here are tons of pics. More to come...

Hey guys finally i have found myself a ke20 and been able to go through with the sale. I bought it Friday off Ra28gt and have been loving life since. I haven't taken any pictures as yet but hes made a thread about it... Looks the same so far... I do like the granny look so i think that i will go with that so far.. Plans are to put a sun visor on it and maybe widen the stock 12". It does need new carpet and roof lining that will be done in the next few weeks. Other than that its up in the air. The car comes with a spare 3k engine and i am undecided whether or not build that up with cam, webbers etc.. or go for a 4/5k? would it be worth spending money on a 3k?…

hi there thought id put this up once id at least rego'ed it this is my ke55 i bought for $400. originally bought this as a donor car for my 13b bridgy N/A out of my rx7 as it is in the process of a bridgy turbo conversion. i liked the shape of the ke30 and looks a fairly straight forward conversion as conversions go. anyways it was a bit beat up, rust in usual places, completely standard but overall in not too bad nick as ive seen alot worse. never was a fan of the 55 front end and bumpers kinda looked a bit queer so that was first to go. 30 bonnet, bumpers and grill next engine got a tidy up, new leads, service etc, degrease, coat of matt black for a tidy…

Just picked up a new daily, got it off a German backpacker who was going back home, she picked it from QLD and drove it over. It's in pretty good nick body wise, very straight with no rust at all, not sure if thats rare for these things. The interior is a bit rough though, the center console is busted up and the auto T bar is broken. Runs good except for the whiney diff. I have already put some other wheels and tyres on there, the ones she had on had started to separate and were causing the worst vibration. Also put some new boat carpet in the back. Not too clued up about these things, but is the sedan diff the same as the panel van? i need to get it sussed out asap…

Hi All, Time has come to finally begin the rebuild of our old Corolla. Has been in the family since the late 80's when it was my wife's first car. It went through a body rebuild and respray ( was originally mustard yellow )in around 1992 when she was hit by a drunk driver. Got a mechanical rebuild a couple of years later when the 3k and toyoglide finally gave up the ghost. Suspension was replaced then , diff rebuilt, brakes completely replaced front and rear, a jap import 5k built up with a mildly ported and decked head, balanced internals and a 32/36 weber bolted on, and the car converted to a manual gearbox. Was driven around like that and used as a weeke…

This summer a buddy and me were going to the North Cape, a story you can read here. In short, I sent my white '82 KE70 off the road 150 miles down the trip and bought another '82 KE70 the same day. In two months I've put 5k miles on it and it's worked like a charm. Prior to the unintended offroading with the white car I was going to tear it down and build it up like a pre-facelift with JDM front lights, chrome bumpers and more. Right now I don't know exactly what's going to happen, but the beige '82 is a far better base than the white '82. Either I'm gonna restore the beige car with its original parts and newer chrome bumpers (that's if the white car survives, not dec…

Hi All, This is my first post here because i have not owned a corolla for about 15 years... and now i do. I have owned 4/5 ke20 corollas in my teens, my first one given to me by my brother @ 12 years old! thanks bro! (I only crashed one of them.. the rest were destroyed by siblings/friends, and I will NEVER forgive them! ) My project: A slightly rusty (not too bad) unfinished and unstarted project car bought for next to nothing. The guy I bought it off got it as an unfinished project years ago, and never started finishing it. I hope to do a bit better ;) First off I must say this will be a total budget build using as much cheap/free stuff as I can …

Well, I was trying to start cutting down on my cars. Hence getting rid of the sr20 ke36. But I've keeping my eyes open for a cheap ke20 ever since I got rid of my old one. Well just scored my self a white ke20 for a good price. Needs a little bit of work but so do most ke20's. Pick it up over the weekend. Will upload some pics when I pick it up.

Howdies all, names David, nice to meet you. Recently got my hands on a KE70, it wasn't planned, more so a compulsive buy. The opportunity was sitting in a wreckers yard for the fine price of $500. It wasn't defected, and i have a sh*tload of time on my hands, so i figured why not. Bought it, trailered it home (no rego or plates) and its sitting in the backyard. Since then I have begun fixing the rust, and sanding her back for a respray, she's coming along nicely. Here's a few picies....

after dickin around with a vl turbo that i was gona use to tow my ca18 ae71 for the past few months iv decided its not worth it anymore and bought myself this new beast... gold ke70 sedan stock as a rock 4k auto with overrated interior. the paint isnt to bad and it has NO rust in guards but had rust in the bonnet and behind the rear wheels and along the body below the boot. this is how i bought it... so i figured seeing as the ca18 rolla wont be seeing the track til next year id rip out the suspension and fit it to the ke along with the wheels which JUST fit on the rear with a light guard roll... this weekend I'm fixing all the rust and then il get a roadwort…

picked up this beauty today with bAKER. 1982 ke70 panno. white. 4spd manual, 280,000kms on the clock. has only done about 800kms in the past year so everything is a bit stiff but she's slowly loosening up. will not have the chrome bars much longer. have sold them for nearly the cost of the car. plan is just to have it on club registration and have it ship shape for the vic members GOR run at the end of january. no tents for me! will have more detailed pics and information once i get a good look over it after new years. just wanted to spread the excitment now.

Sadly more than likely will be a parts car. Does it need its own thread? No, but I'm making one because its an RA28 and I love them! Currently runs an 18RG (why I brought it) BEFORE anyone says it the bonnet was painted black before drifting was invented. Back in its day it was a hill climb car so the bonnet was painted black.

So here is the recent addition to the stable. A 1986 AE82 Twincam that cost me $200. Basically saved it from the scrapper and the plan is to use it as a club car in events such as hillclimbs and motorkhanas. Car was cheap as it is unregistered and motor is in pieces as it was cooked by the previous owner. All the bits are there but in the boot and interior has been ripped apart as he took out his stereo. Definitely get stuck into it next year when I get back from holidays. Once I have it running i'll strip it out get club reg and see what it can do/how long it will last on the track! Here are some pics. P.S. everyone knows that red is faster :) …

Just thought I'd start a thread here rather than updating in the KE20 members section. If you look in that thread you will see photo's of were I'm up to. Basically 1974 KE20 4age, T50 box, Lancer diff and painted in Blood orange 2pack. The bodyshell, door and boot jambs, engine bay and underside have all been painted. In the engine bay we tried to hide as much as possible, as I wanted the bay to be very smooth and clean. The driveline is all in and the car is at my mechanic getting wired up and a few other things done. I painted the bootlid last week, so it is ready to be fitted. Tonight I got the rear bumper bar and taillight surrounds painted. I painted them in silver. …
