Hi all, My name is Tenny, I have a 74 ke25 delux coupe and have been a member since mid december. Thought it was finally time to start my own ride thread, after reading everyones thread and was inspired to share my project with everyone and maybe get some tips and hints along the way. So anyway its a bit of a story on how I got the car. My father in law found this car in Sydney, over the net and had it trucked to Brissy, he then got some work done on it to get it roadworthy then gave it to my sister in law for her first car. My sister in law then moved to Perth and didnt want to pay the freight so sold it to her Mums partner who gave it to his daughter for her fir…

Hey guys, finally got my backside into another Corolla - turns out almost 4 years is too long not to have one. It's a 1975 2 Door, 4K, 5 Speed, and a Jap 4.3 diff. Going to change some things in time to come. So far replaced the carburettor, the spark plug tube O rings, gave it a bit of a tune up. Runs a little better. Off now to replace the gasket on the back of the head its dripping coolant, replace the spark plugs, change the thermostat. And another re-tune.

This post is dedicated to Box Corollas. (KE70/TE71/DX/L/GL/GLS,etc) I met this guy named Frank Oliver, he started the Box Toyota club in the 90's( not sure when can't think now on the top of my head.) The club ranges from box front, slant front, and lift back rear wheel drive Toyotas. The progression of the club is determined by the crowd it attracts and the passion they have for these cars. So far they have ventured to events around the Cape, even stretching up as far as Atlantis, Bredarsdorp, Ceres and Worcester. Members from all over the Cape have united, and the love for these cars are every growing. The club is ever growing, and is slowly starting to get …

hey guys my name is Tristan i'm from SA, I have just picked myself up my first corolla, a clean ke55 sedan. Its nice tidy car bought from an old lady :jamie:. The paint work on the car is almost perfect and there is hardly any rust, the car has only done 130000kms. At the moment it is completely stock, but i have some very big plans for it. i have bought a ca18det engine and gearbox that i plan to put in over next few months. The engine also came with a t28 turbo. I'm planning on keeping the look of the car as basic as possible, and trying to get it as road legal as possible and getting an engineers certificate. Any help or tips would be much appreciated here's a f…

Hi everyone, Bit of a noob intro, I'm matt from the Sunshine Coast and here is my spirit that i've had for about 6 months now. I've been slowly doing little bits and pieces to get this old girl back on the road. I've mostly just been doing body work and repaired a few little rust spots here and there ( the usual locations, though not too bad really ) You might have also spotted the front lip which is a kamei item from little red spirit, though it has been cut down on the ends and 2 inches shaved off the top so it doesnt hang too low or look to big and goofy. I have also got a genuine nardi steering wheel, some TE72 wing mirrors (the boxy ones with chrome bi…

Hellooooo, I've been browsing this forum for a while now, from since when I started to get into Toyotas, which was when I first got my licence. how I first got it: 84 ae81 1.3 stroked to 1.5 weber 32/36 extractors cam What got me into Corollas was one of my older mates had one, and he had done it up and it was ʞ©$ɟing beautiful and blah blah blah got into an accident and wrote it off, but I still wanted one, pretty much exactly the same but with my own personal additives. Before my corolla, I was driving a Landcruiser 84 Model ʞ©$ɟing troop carrier fuel eater. It had its pros and cons, but it wasn't what I wanted, on another note, bought it for 2500, spe…

It's my turn for show and tell, so here goes... 1982 'flat front' KE70 Standard 4K engine, all gaskets and hoses replaced; mild cam; oil changed; brakes remachined and so on... Singin' like a biiiird. As stated, absolutely no rust on the thing anywhere. Bought it off a panel beater who straightened the body up and painted it this lovely blue (NQX blue to be specific). Immaculate job the guy's done, by far one of the car's greatest qualities. Standard height springs; standard 13" steelies without hub caps, spray painted a dodgey glossy black, overshadowed however by the stainless wheel trims I picked up at Autobarn for $25 a piece. New radiator, battery and …

Well pretty much bought my car back... long story short i smashed the front end (ran up the ass of some one). The front end had been fixed, extractors, a newer model corolla steering wheel... and a bride seat had been installed. When I bought it back it had been stripped and had no exhaust (only extractors) it had no rego either.. He also said he had just fixed the head gasket but that was not the case cause it was still ʞ©$ɟed so I fixed that, got it skimmed, also it didn't idle so took it to work and fixed that, I stripped the interior and sprayed it black, made it neater. It had a sticker guard to so I left that, adds a little bit of character :) The plan is to ke…

Hi there . just got my first corolla a 1975 KE35 hardtop. picked it up for $650 and drove it for 8 hours straight to get it home. shes got the 4k engine. but a four speed manual. the pics are attached if you want to comment.[ needing some advise on where to start in getting the little beast going a bit better. got some extracters and exhaust but thats about it. also would like to improve handling. what sort of price range is a 4age coversion worth?. is there any thing else could possibly look at? also what are some parts that are same as other models as this isn't the easiest thing to get parts for. any places that are best to look.

So I've decided to start a new build thread for an AE71 Spirit I picked up for a measly $800. It was a fair travel to Taradale, 50kms South of Bendigo, thanks to Evan G for giving me a hand picking it up. She is red in colour, exterior is in alright condition has some rust in the usual places, righthand rear arch, and the boot. The paint could do with a cut and polish some minor paint damage on the front left gaurd, rust is starting to develop. Planning to just sand it back and give it a touch up so it's barely noticeable. Also the front stone tray has a fair amount of stone damage too, so I plan to pull the panel off and repaint it. The front bumper is a bit warped t…

Hey All, The story goes "the wife wanted to start rally, so I thought we'd start with something we can have some fun in and see if we're serious." I don't know one guy that wouldn't say OK if his better half wanted to get into motorsport!!! Just putting the car up for people to see... Not much special going on on the outside, or inside for that matter! Bought the car for 400 big ones off the side of the road. It was owned by a few young guys that thrashed it round the paddock. Too good for that I thought so I saved it from a certain miserable death!! Since having it I had the hotbox gasket replaced. It was a bit leaky and the reason the young guys wer…
