  1. Thought I'd start a thread for the beast now that it is starting to gain momentum. Picked her up a few months back and have been fixing it ever since Hence the name moocher.... Cause she definately does not pay the bills.... When I initially got her she was running ok but started to wear out over time. Almost like it had a cosmetic makeover before I bought her Seems as though it has had a 3kbp head slaped on and very poorly bolted on manofolds that did not suit... I found out that the bolts that were used bottomed out before they even tensioned the manifold. So basically done so far is: Changed fluids Spark plugs Ignition leads Points Ro…

Just bought recently (few days ago) a 1986 Twin Cam, Originally 4 days ago, I did not plan to buy another car, however a friend offered to buy my AE82 Sedan, and then an ad for the Twin Cam popped up on Gumtree, then I changed my mind, why not? :P Bought it for $1,600 with RWC inc from a nice old guy, originally I was a bit exceptional as the Twin cam was in pretty much perfect condition 0 Rust as well, and done only 130,000 KM's.., after I test drove it, it went very well, and engine was very responsive. Everything was bone stock including the radio even, everything works. However the radio's new home is the bin soon :P Even has all logbooks dating back to 19…

I bought the Rolla from a family, who left their parent's car in the garage of an estate for years. Car had great interior, body in decent shape, and minimal rust, aside from the battery leaking acid onto metal. Corolla came with a 3kc 4 speed, which had 25,000 miles. I was suspicious of that, until I cleaned the jets on the rebuilt carb the car already had. Car runs like it just came out of the dealership new! I just wanted to share the journey of my find. 78 Corolla $800 Paint and body $400 (good paint shop) Baby supra 13x5.5 front 13x8 rear $100 Wrapped in kumho 175/70/13 front futura 205/60/13 rear free Suspension lowering $35 king springs free

Hey guys, I'm new here but I thought I'd share with you in detail the build I have been doing over the last month and a bit. My names Jarrad, I'm 19 and in Melbourne. I got to uni, studying industrial design and I managed to cram this into my holidays just over. Here she is as I got her. A very tidy example with a few needed rust repairs in the usual places. It's done a few km's and needed a new diff. Apart from that - spick and span. Owned by a car-detailer that sold it because he got a AE86. Prior to him it was owned by a Toyota mechanic. First step for me was to start hacking up the rust. I stripped it completely and made up some panels to w…

Picked this bad boy up about 1 month ago as a bit of a side project along side getting my calais turbo wagon back on the road......its a 1983 KE70 Wagon, 4k, 4spd manual, 190,xxx kms on the clock. Doesn't blow smoke, lights work (sort of) and it drives pretty straight considering its age. This is basically going to be my car to learn rust repair, body prep and painting on. It's unrego'd so It doesnt really bother me long it takes to sort out. It has a decent amount of rust, but most of it I THINK i will be able to sort out.

Hey guys, new to the rollaclub seen and thought I would wack up the AE92 I picked up. It needs a couple things before rego so hoping people can help me out. I have bought this car for the missus as a daily so its not going to have to much money spent on it. Its got 204 thou on the clock and drives/runs pretty well. Not a bad score for $500 I think. Chasing: Wheels/Tyres - factroy or aftermarket Washer bottle Standard exhaust Steering wheel

I got lucky as i wasn't looking for long till i found the Ke26 i wanted :). It has a 4K atm but am looking to upgrade to a mildly worked 5K  Has a 5 speed box which i find very handy. Jap diff. Things i have done: Satin black RA40 Celica rims running 195/60 R14 tyres all round. Engine change from 3K to 4K (my first engine change). Hey guys. My name is Justin. Just bought myself another corolla which has brought me back to these forums. Have been away for a long time. Clearly not as immaculate and new as the at the time brand new 05 sportivo but I'm still quite happy with its graceful aging and condition As far as i know apart from it clearly being lowered its completely stock. Looks wise with exception of rear muffler, lowered, tint and small sound system my goal for this car is to keep complete original look. I will just slowly source out or re paint new bits and peices to get interior and exterior as overrated as possible. Power wise CAI, Upsized throttle body, Extractors and exhaust.…

My ride is a 1984 Toyota Corolla KE70 Wagon which i picked up from canberra for $1500 back in august! Ive checked over the whole car and found it to have no rust, just minor bits of wear and tear which i am in the process of fixing. I'm on my p's until April next year so therefore i can do much as per engine conversion goes so I'm just gonna save up for the engine i want and work on the interior for the moment! Hi folks Decided it was high time I posted a thread of the little Tiara that has been living with me since earlier this year. Story goes that my brother is a bit of a car nut like me, and when I sent him a link for this on ebay, he fell in love and went hammer and tong to win it. Win it he did, and then asked me to go collect it for him since he lives in Sydney and it lived in Melbourne, just like me. It had a few months rego left on it which was handy, so I grabbed it, assured that nothing was wrong with it for a roady, and off I toddled. Here are some pics from the ad. Hi guys, I've been wanting to put up my rolla for a while now but haven't had the time. Now i do so here it is!! I bought the car pretty much as it is now only less most of the interior and a butt load of wiring issues, so when i got it i had to wire up all new lights, wipers, guages, dash cluster, tacho and speedo. I also had to replace all the plastic parts of the dash as they were in a pretty bad way!! Two new front seats new tyres and a very helpful roady guy later and it now registered!! That said i am still having a few issues with the car that you guys may be able to help me out with. The first and most prominent issue is the idle. When i start the car…

Picked up this thing for around 2k, really can't remember. Stock 4k 4spd Rings are fried pretty much, but still runs, brand new clutch before I bought it and country pack suspension. Original factory paint, interior and exterior are almost perfect, just a few little bumps from dings from trolleys and that, will get them fixed up. First things are first, new motor, it will have to be a 4k untill I have all my points back next year, so if you know any going around, let me know. Ordered for the springs to be reset, and for a pair of coils for the front. Will keep this updated as it progresses.

Hi everyone, I think it's time to show you all my ride before it gets any major work done to it. First off, I'm Adam, recently turned 18 and going for my P's on the 15th of Jan 08. I'm from Melbourne and have always been into the Jap import scene. Big fan of the skylines, silvias and supras. While being on L's, I've been driving an R32 GTS-4 sedan and was planning on driving it on my P's as well, but the 'no turbo, v8' laws came in and it was time for me to get a new ride. The KE70 happened to be it. I honestly didn't really plan on getting the rolla at first, but found that it would've been the best option for me. I had my eyes on an S13 silvia first. Okay, enou…
