Hi, I got into the whole nostalgic car scene with the influence of a friend of mine and ever since i saw classic cars in his perspective.. i was h00ked! The story began one day while i was at school lurking an Australian car forum and came across a thread where a forum member had posted something about an 80 year old man wanting to sell his crown. So i was thinking ... hm mm ... one owner? JDM? 40 series crown? Manual? tick tick tick TICK! As the front of my shorts began to lift at an alarming rate i quickly got my phone and texted this forum member(i believe silvera23 on here?) straight away Got the contact details of this old mans number and c…

Well I figure I better start a thread on this thing for two reasons, 1: I'm about to do some work to it 2: It's trying to kill me, so I may as well post it up before it gets the chance Ok, a few of you would have seen this thing at the recent cruise, it is the replacement for the Panel Van that found a ditch (found more stuff to take pictures of BTW, will get some tomorrow), and best of all, it was cheap. So I buy it unregistered, do some of the dodgiest ghetto repairs known to man, and get it registered, engine sounds like death but is surprisingly strong, radiator leaks, gearbox sounds like it wants to drop a cog or three, diff clunks n rattles and has so…

So finally after about 2 years, work has started on my 74 ke30 I initally bought the car off here as a long term project, with a massive build in mind of a 3sgte beams, 6 speed etc. but after not doing anything at all for 2 years, getting into a better position financially work has started with the assistance of my housemate. picked up a 4agte a couple weeks ago and have torn that down mostly and looking into rebuild kits (didn't need it, just peace of mind). so far have pulled engine, box, front struts, and diff. most of the car was apart when i got it with the majority of interior parts there, there is very little rust which I'm happy about, 3 small …

Hi everyone, here are some pics of my AE112r this is the most recent photo i have. the day i brought her home. Very neat and tidy. This is how it looked for a while, i'm in the process of making the cutout grille again. After a wash at home, probably one of the last photos where the paint was still nice. My clear coat has since decided it no longer like my paint and they're going their separate ways. will post some more pics soon, let me know what you think. i'll also update with a list of the mods i've made. Simon.

Well it was a few month's ago when I decided I needed another car.. Something cheap to run and something relatively nice to drive. Without having any luck on a decision, I decided it would be a bad idea to just jump into anything so I played the research and wait game. The missus also needed a car, and one came up. It was my Grandfather's Ae82 hatch, 3 speed auto, 285xxx k's, faded paint with minimal rust. As he can no longer drive and she needed a car more than I needed another car we claimed it. Only problem is that it was in Mackay.... So Booked our 1 way flight's and headed up there to see some of the family and get her a car. The day before we were sc…

Hi there guys, I am a newbie to this forum and the old school corolla scene but will be a regular. I recently made the trip down to Melbourne to pick up a ke70 that I picked up for a reasonable price. I have plans to turn it into a drift, I have plans to clean it up; it has rust in the rear quarter and on the rear boot latch that will have to be fixed. Future plans are: *rust repair *re spray white *4agte conversion (open to any other sugestion undecided) *qaud headlight front end with chrome bars *make it as jdm and as clean as possible *full or half roll cage unsure if going to re register *nice jdm style rims *suspension work coilovers

finally got me hot little hands on a ke11 6/70 ami built model. I don't know a great deal about these cars, but this was a good score, and ive always wanted one. Starter motor is shagged so i have replaced it the sarvo and got her running. it has a warm 3k with k40 4 spd and jap diff. Has had front brakes upgraded and been told its ke 20 hubs and rotors with ke35 discs. rear has reset king spring leafs. still retains ke10 front leaf interior seems pretty straight forward and original with ke20 seats in the front and everything else stock. door cards and parcel shelf have been cut out for speakers:( at the moment it runs well but will need a bit of mecha…

Hi All, Thought I should at least introduce myself on here, I have been lurking for a while. I currently own a KE20, a shitty AE92 and a 2007 Levin ZR. Recently after a canary I decided to sell my RX7 and have just purchased Jono's KE20 4AGTE which is on it's way to sunny Adelaide as I type. I've been actively involved in the SARotors car club for the last 5 or so years, and enjoy competing in Modern Regularity out @ Malalla whenever I get the chance (not much over the last two years anyway.) Not much of a drifter (even though my last car was something of a drift pig) but looking forward to catching up with some fellow rolla heads on the next cruise. Cheers, …

Ok so I have a bit of spare time off over xmas/new year so going to finally take the KE55 off the road and start ripping in to the motor and starting the rebuild. I have a spare 4k that I am going to be swaping out the original motor for while I work on it just in case I need to use the rolla to get around. This build is going to be a bit drawn out (simply due to lack of time and low budget), but I need to get most of the major internal mods done to the motor asap as we are losing our company cars not long into the new year which means the rolla will be my daily driver. To help keep costs down, and because I love doing it, I am going to be doing most of the work …

I sold my '66 valiant quick for $675usd and bought this TE72 wagon for $400usd. The car was really well cared for by its original owner, it always went to the Toyota dealer for everything but things he could get a better warranty on. (Exhaust, brakes, tires, batteries.....etc) The car had 40,000mi on it by the time it was a year old! The po was a carpenter and used it like a truck; he even bragged he had 8 sheets of plywood strapped to the roof. Overall; it's pretty clean; it's condition belies the 275,000 MILES on it. It doesn't smoke, knock, use oil. Trans shifts perfect, it's supposed to have 3.58 gears, but feels more like 3.90. When I found it I was told it neede…

So, by a stroke of luck, today I picked up my new Ae112r Conquest. Original 99,000km, owned by the same family for 10 years. The piles of service paperwork to go with it are almost the same size as the car! It's been pampered and garaged for most, if not all it's life. Completely stock standard. Drove beautifully on the way home from Port Melbourne. If it wasn't pouring with rain outside i'd have some pictures for you guys, but alas, no photos until I can get a chance.

hi all, i have been on this site for a while now. I picked up this 1971 ke25 which was a bit of a mess. it was a stolen and recovery vehicle, which the owner no longer wanted to keep. She sold it to me around 4yrs ago. I have been working on it in my spare time, trying to find all the rare bits that i needed to replace. It was a toyoglide when i got it, but the glide in it was gone. I converted it myself to a 5spd manual. I have completed all the mechanical work on this car myself, and i mean myself. No one was even around to give me a hand to lift or hold anything. interior is near excellent condition. I have replaced all the bushes , ball joints , ti…

Hey everyone, So here's the backing story. 6 years ago, a little old vintage car collector bought this little vehicle for his granddaughter as her first car, buying off an old couple who had both lost their licenses, hence a little old people damage to the front but nothing too bad. He called her up and told her to come and get her new car! When she got there, she looked at it an said, "That's old. I thought I was getting a new car. I don't want that!" So the old man left it under his house behind their Jazz for 6 years, charging the battery every two weeks. And he didn't buy her another car! A few months ago, looking in the paper I saw an add that read; TOYOTA s…
