hi all, just pick up my new ke20. just sold the first one i had as it was a one owner car and wayyy to clean to cut up. here is the thing i love ke20's and love rotaries so I'm going to combined the two together to build my dream car. i have spoken to a number of people who engineer cars and they are happy to pass the car with a 12a turbo set up as long as the brakes/suspension and a few other safety requirements are met. i do want a street car but something that i can race as well. apart from free riding riding stand up jet skis professionally i really enjoy a good night at the drags. i will keep you all posted with pics threw out the build but here is t…

After the sudden death of my T18 last year, I was left with a void in my life and a brown spot in my lawn that could only be filled by another corolla. I wanted a car to compete in khanacross events that could make use of our stockpile of surplus ae86 and te72 parts. Then this showed up. Perfect! It started life as an "S" spec auto ke70 and was converted to 5 speed manual at some stage. It had lain dormant for a while after its duties as a daily driver ended. It was rudely reawakened late last year when a temporary rego permit was slapped on the windscreen and Mr Yoda drove it on one last epic road trip from Brisbane to Cairns. It was revolting, bu…

i scored this one off ebay for $650, picked it up from albury (boarder of nsw/melb). since i couldnt find anyone to tow it back on a tralier i decided to drive it back , it was a 3 hour drive each way. i loaded the car with almost all my tools from work. spare dissy/fuel pump/carby/tyre Just incase.. what a waste of time that was. drove it back didnt break down! but then again it is s a corolla some pics as the story goes from the seller he bought it off a 16 year old girl who was learning to drive in her back yard, so she painted the car in pink house paint! so the seller bought it off of her. sanded it all back and painted it in 2pak. he painte…

Had the car nearly 5 years and it wasn't 'till this year when the cv's needed replacing that I bothered to do anything with it. Replaced the green/blue/gray(what colour is it!?) original dash top with a black one from a POS seca I bought for the factory alloys 'cause there was five of them. Changed the gauge faces and added a clock. The rear window wiper wasn't working so I shaved the back. I've tried a couple of different front bumpers, still not quite happy yet... In the near future I'll put in a 7AFE bottom end bored out a bit with a new exhaust, shave the vents on the c pillar and lower it a bit. Eventually I'll have to do better than a "20 ft pai…

G-day everyone this is the first time I'm realy posting anything about my car it has come a long way since i bought it almost 16 months ago. it started as just a quick close door respray but after finding more rust than originally anticipated it is now just about a full on bare metal respray and hotting the thing up at the same time. I did have a 2tg which i intended to drop in it but due to being low on funds i ended up selling it. i have now decided i want to go a twin carb 4age and would appreciate any input you could possibly give me about the easiest way to go about it. anyway heres some pics of the build so far. This is how it looksed as i bough…

Hey all I have been getting bored awaiting parts from the US for my 2JZ KE20 so i bought back a KE20 i owned years ago and i have started fitting a 1UZFE, it will use a largish frame turbo similar to what i used in a previous 1UZFET Vh commodore i built. So far i have tidied up the seem welded engine bay and applied a base coat of toyota D3 Bamboo of course :lolcry: . The car already had a larger skyline tunnel in it and as hoped it swallows the a340e gearbox without a problem. The crossmember is KE55 i had to move it forward 20mm and move the lower control arms in 30mm to get the track and wheelbase back to standard ke20, the struts are from an ra40 celica and cu…

Hey all this is my first "old school" corolla ive owned but have always like the old ke's but never came around to getting one until now as its something different to me and i thought now's the best time to start with something fresh. My ke30 is a 1978 model sedan(auto with factory A/C, 77,000klms), its a 1 original owner most of its life until recently. I got it from a guy who bought it from the original owner who was gonna restore it but changed his mind and sold it. Now This is where i step into the picture, I was looking to do a engine conversion on my S15 200SX and will have everything from this car mechanically left aside from it so when i found this corol…

Hey everyone i'm Andrew from wollongong NSW this is my build thread on my 1984 ke70 corolla project i currently have underway. as you can see needs a bit of work but that's exactly the reason why i bought it, to be a project !! i had a 84 ke70 csx as my first car and loved it, but had to sell it to pay for the rego on my daily 99 mazda 323 astina. (i know should of sold the mazda but it's a little bit more reliable then the rolla.) From the day i sold it, i wanted it/or another rolla. so 2 years later i have bought another one, and doing what i always wanted to do to my first one, it's a slow progessing project as i'm doing most of the work myself …

Hello everyone! Now I realise this is 'Rollaclub' but there isn't a big fan base for Coronas- and Corollas are the next best thing! :P I'm a long time reader and after reading many build threads I've decided it's time to make my own. My name is Stephen and I'm currently in my second year at university. This build began way back in when I was in Year 11 at high school- the moment I turned 17 and got my P's. Firstly I'd like to thank my cousin Adrian for he completed all of the work on my car while I merely held the torch eagerly, trying to learn as much as I could. You may ask "Why a Corona?"... So here's the story of how it came about. My family ha…

Hi everyone, I've started browsing Rollaclub a lot more lately due to me now owning a K motor powered car again. I have a duplciate thread on Toymods so I'm just going to cut and paste what I am maintaining there :) If anybody would like close up pictures in better resolution, information or anything just ask and I will be happy to help where I can. I originally purchased this 1983 Starlet in November of last year (2012) and it took some time to get it into the country because of the slackers who were processing my import approval. Finally last week I picked my car up from the quarantine lot and have been working on the compliance side of things so that I can get…

Hey blokes, this is my first old Corolla finally replacing the Classic Toyota hole left in my life after the Ta22 was stolen. It's a 2TGEU (yes EFI!!) 1976 Ke35 hardtop. Was owned by an older woman for the most part, rebuilt by her husband 10 years ago. It then went to some teen for a year and now it's here. Bought as a daily while I am finishing my not as classic ae86. In pretty decent condition overall, needs a tune and maybe a wheel bearing but that's about it. Thankfully almost no rust. I hate rust. Sadly its on stilts already due to my front Ssrs not fitting, but when I get the wheels on I'll get some better shots. Initial plans are fender mirrors, chin spoil…

I started off buying a white slanty 4age ke70 from SA, left Melton at 5:30am, drove to the other side of adelaide and then drove this corolla back with no heater & a locked r/h/f strut for 7 hours at 4,200rpm. It was standard bodied on 14 inch cressida steel wheels. I cut the springs and fitted a set of rota grids & cheap china tyres then it looked like this. Went drifting with it Decided I'd have a go running it around Winton with my friends in their r33 gtsts, Best time of the day first time ever on the track was 1:52.4 Was hooked on racing so I started to get into any track days I could, I completed a second winton track day, only thing I ch…

Hi, I’ve been a forum lurker for years now and finally thought it was time to put up my build thread :) Expect it to be VERY long, sorry :P First a bit about me. My name is Marcus and I’m 17. I’ve been hooked on cars my entire life, it’s so true my first words were brooom broom, haha. At 12 my Dad bought me a 1981 ke70 from my step cousin. It sat in the backyard for 9 months and we never did any motorkhana’s like was ment so one night me and my mate snuck it out and went for joyride, 5 hours of fun ultimately due to some crappy circumstances and probably karma ended with this…. Needless to say it never drove again. But I'd got the ke70 bug, and even when a…

So this is my new toy, It was build by my father about 25+ years ago, I recently acquired from a family friend, (it was build for him) It was repainted in my dad's racing colours when he died and was present at Rally Australia about 13 years ago. it's a complete Animal to drive. The 2t is no longer a 1600 it has the internals of the 3t with a very aggressive cam. the diff is locked and the rear end is heavily reinforced and all the goodie in between. All the removable panels except the doors are all fiberglass, and I have the molds to go with!!!! anyway here are some of the photos I have taken hopefully i will get some of it playing in the dirt soon. C…

Hello all, after having the corolla running for a few months its time to make the car look good! First of all ill be stripping it and then removing the rust patches out of the vehicle and then giving her a nice paint job! Not decided on what paint colour to give her but i am thinking of the XR8 Deepish Orange colour once the rust is removed and panel work is done then its onto the engine to rebuild the turbo!(Unless a WRX turbo comes in cheaper) Replace the camshaft with a standard one so the car can be tuned properly. Try and get a stronger gearbox and diff... Lower the front of the car and put some new shockies in there so the car doesnt bounce e…

Well a mate offered it to me and I got it on the cheap. I love it that much that I'm selling my xr6t that I bought as my first "modern reliable car" Due to unreliability and not needing another "weekend car". I then bought another one automatic with a slipping auto unregoed for $200. I've been working on it the last three weeks and I think it's turning out quite nicely. It owes me $800 all up including buying both cars as I found a lot of goodies in the shed. So far I've done, New shocks (in the shed monroes) Cut springs (ordering kings) Put a set of impul rs mesh on it that I found through my wheel piles a lot better nick then i remembered. Had to buy a new ty…

Funny isnt it how you get rid of one project, say thats the end of it for the moment and then you suddenly have another one about to enter the driveway, almost! Afraid there are no pics yet but went to visit an uncle last week and what does he have sitting in his paddock (literally) but what I believe is a KE26 2 door van, only disappointing thing really is that windows have been added to the side van panels and the fact that they are rusting around the panel edges. I can't really confirm a lot until I get it home but its a 3k 4 spd manual, complete and suppossed to run,was running when parked up many years ago.It does of course have other rust but I don't think it is too ba…

hey guys, my ae71 got defected the other week and couldn't be bothered going over the pits as i knew it wasn't gonna pass. so i needed a new car ASAP for work and school and looked everywhere for a decent car for cheap and finally i spot this tidy Toyota corona with a for sale sign on the windscreen out the front of a mechanics. first thing i did was ask for the owner and we had a long chat about the car and its history, long story short he wanted $800 for it and i snapped it up! picked it up the next day with a fresh 3 months rego and was loving life. first thing i noticed was the brake pedal very spongy so i had a look and there seemed to be a small leak in the rear…

Hey all, I've been hovering around on here for a while and thought it was about time for me to start contributing. I have a few corollas including a ke55 and 2 ke70 wagons but thought I'd start with the one that's being worked on now. Picked up this AE112 from the wreckers at Wacol, it just has a light tap in the front, hoping to have the front damage repaired this week and get it ready for paint

Hi Guys and Girls, Just thought I would share some pics of my new ol school ride I bought last week from a guy here Reed, nice guy. He was pretty emotional about selling the car. And I know why.....I love it!!! Future plans are to upgrade engine to possibly 4AGE 20V, new wheels (14 inch), full respray and suspension upgrade. Would like some suggestions for hot wheels for the KE18 (pics welcome). So far all I have done in the past 10 days is clean the shit out of it and polished the chrome (Cut and machine polish next weekend). Ordered a new OMP steering wheel and quick release. Hope you all enjoy these pics I took today. PS: Yes Reed I'm looking after…

I've had this little seca for something like 18 months, It gets the daily duties while the wagon and the torana hang out at home. wagon: Torana I've had/built 4 or 5 AE92/3s in the past 6 years, so when I needed a cheap car to leave at the station and drive the freeway in, decison was pretty easy. Picked it up like this, Freshly rebuilt smallport 4AGE, new clutch, new CVs, etc etc. Would later turn out some dodgy things had been done, but nothing major. photos don't show how rough the body is, theres rust in the front screen and lots of "whoopsie" marks around the body, someone colourblind must have tried to touch up the pa…

Got ourselves another 'Rolla today, but this one is for Josh's younger brother, Joel. We scored it off a guy who had it sitting on his farm in Craigieburn. It's a December-1974 Aussie-built KE30 2-Door Sedan in Blue. It has a 3K and 4-speed (won't start because of wiring issues), and we found out it originally had a 3K-H in it according to the firewall tag, but was swapped out for a standard 3K in it now. It is an "L" edition (as badged - not too sure what it means). It has black leather seats and cards, black carpet, black dash, and other cool bits and two spare head gaskets. The dash-top is cracked, and it's a one-piece dash unfortunately, so we'll get that fixe…

Hey all, I've just joined this site, looks really nice! I have to say this little restoration is nothing compared to some of the amazing work you've all put in to your rollas!! Also I can't say i'm worthy compared to the awesome RWD beauts too! So the story to me picking this sad look car up is I used to have a black AE92 with the 2nd gen 4AGE tvis, unfortunately I didn't have the time, space, money or guts to get that one sorted. So without realising how ridiculously rare these were getting in the UK I sold it on to find out it was scrapped. Sooooo after getting married in July last year I asked the new wife if I could go out and buy this 'clean' looking coro…

Hello, I'm new to this. I have a 1989 1.3 GL Corolla, I am doing a 1600 twincam engine conversion and stripping the car down fully and getting a full car respray. I am buying another car for the conversion , hopefully get one cheap thats been hit or the body work is bad in 400 - 600. If anyone knows of any let me know. The car is white and I'm getting it sprayed a glossy black. I'll keep post photos until I'm done.

most of u will remember this advertised on here about a month ago for sale. all ive done since buying it is put in std seats sold the race ones and sold the mags and put my white walls on. also did the xt130 corona brake and strut conversion. also fitted venetian and eyelids for head lights for bit of old school touch. the stuff that was already done was engine conversion and cut down 28 spline commodore diff. so i really didnt have to much to do which i like, as i need to spend some time on my cortina as have plans of it running decent times, and this is just my daily driver and the g/fs shopping car. have plans of going to the drags at willowbank in a couple of weeks …

Hey guys, thought I should finally join up here! Had this thing a while, just been daily'ing it around waiting for a 4x4 of interest to come up. Also, moving into a new place with a personal workshop which means I can take the whip off the road and give it some major lovin' The body is pretty clean, but the interior and everything else definitely needs work. The boot is leaking a bit of water, motor is leaking oil from the rocker cover and then some. The whole motor and suspension is a hackjob done by what had to be a blindfolded monkey. The only relevant modifications it has are a 2.5" fujitsubo exhaust and the ABV mod. Oh and POS cut springs. I'…

Hey guys, Just bought this corolla about 3 weeks ago. Its now my 6th KE30/55! This one is the best one i have owned bodywise. It has next to no visable rust =) I bought come 13x7 spitfires? they came off a mates datsun, then got them wrapped in some rubber. After getting the wheels put on i decided it was way too high so i decided to lower the front end. Its looking really good so far in my opinion. I've also got a 4A-GE to go in her. Thanks guys, Mark. Anyway here are some pictures. ^Just after getting the wheels put on. Standard height. ^ After i lowered the front. Yet to do the rear end... ^My Twin Cam to go in after i …
