Well I saw a deal that I couldn't pass. My wife spotted a 1974 corolla on Craigslist and the posting was recent. Due to how hard these are to find, I jumped on it and called the guy. It was in a tow yard, and had been sitting there for 8-10 years. It was stored indoors for most the time. I told the guy I wanted it and would see him in driving time (3 1/2 hours). The seller had pulled the tank, dumped the old gas, cleaned and put about 2 gallons of new gas in it. He charged the battery that was in it, and it fired right up. It had a very high idle and some hesitation. It even has AC! It blew cold after about a min. I bought the car and he delivered it using his AAA tow car…

It is bone stock inside and out running the 4AC motor with a manual transmission. I made a video showcasing the car, its in pretty horrible condition but my first priority is to restore it to its original condition. It would be much appreciated if you subscribe. I will be posting the videos on the on going restoration in the near future. I will also be modding it so if you want to come along for the ride make sure you visit my channel or stay tuned on this thread! If you guys have any questions at all about the car feel fre…

G'Day Rollas, This is my introduction and entry for my KE70 code name 'Swift'. This baby is my first car and I absolutely love her! The car has been in our family for 30 years, most of which it's been in a garage for 20 of them and is still in pretty much perfect condition. I have done some work on the car since I have received it. I'm not very good with cars but I think this car is the perfect to start to learning on. I'll be using this thread as my way of tracking and logging my progress. As of right now the current upgrading and modifications I'm looking at are.. Upgrade the stock sound system, Hopefully install sub and amp too. Replace tachometer from KE70…

Hi All, I've been a member for a while - initially I signed up to buy a KE35 for my girlfriend, but having it sitting in the driveway and puttering around on weekends inspired me to upgrade. So on Saturday I pick up my first Corolla - a 1974 KE20 that's been in one family since new. It's currently unregistered, but after a bit of a once-over I'm hoping to get it registered on Saturday and drive it home. Immediate plans are: Rego Replace the massive racing seats with original seats (have to source some!) Attach the granny visor Replace lap sash belts with retractables Brakes - maybe AE86 strut/brake combo Down the track I might look at a 4AGE swap, but …

Against my better judgement I bought this twincam. Been looking for a nice one for months but I couldnt find one here in Brisbane. I was sold on the fact that it had all its A/C gear even though its not working. Also ive seen a few lately and all needed work. After getting it home and up on car stands I realized that it was totally rooted and that I should get rid of it asap. I already have a KE30 project. My AE101 daily is getting old but Its still rego'd so after thinking it over for some time I decided to keep the AE82 and fix it. I'm hoping to get it back to pretty much stock but lowered with nice wheels and suspension improvements. I want to paint my KE30. Ill paint …

After I finally got rid of my 71 I was starting to think about what to put my gze in, main car I wanted to use was my ute but wasn't 100% keen on the idea and the 82 was out of the question as the blower sits where the brake master/booster is. I then started looking at an AL25 conversion but was put off by the driveline so my next option was an adub and well this one just fell on my feet. It's an aw10 but the 3a has been removed and the front guards are missing, I do however have another front end and a ton of spares, will be pulling the interior out and cleaning it all up and changing some of it out for the supercharged stuff at work. Plan is to finish my engine,…

So, this topic may be a touch premature, but I'm quite content with getting ahead of myself with this. I'm currently chatting to a guy who owns a 1979 Toyota RT130 Corona Liftback with the 18R engine and a 5 speed box. He is selling it due to having a few too many cars about. So, I'm going to go look at it tomorrow and if she's even half decent at the price he's asking, I think I'm going to sell my Festiva and jump on this deal. Now, I don't know a lot about the old Coronas besides the fact that the sedans were fitted with the miserable 1X aka missfire. But, seems as I won't be copping that boat anchor, I'm very excited to become the owner of a liftback Corona. …

hey there fellow rollaclubbers. during a trip to the in laws place a few months back I decided to take a different route than usual. as we were driving down a small street I noticed a little white wagon sitting in a backyard just out of sight. after pulling up and reversing a bit I noticed it was an AE95. it had been sitting for a while from what I could see so I thought there is no harm in asking. turns out it had become one of those jobs that slowly got pushed further and further down the to do list, as it had a blown head gasket. after a chat with the owner and exchanging phone numbers, 2 weeks later I picked it up for $500 and now resides at my mates place getting th…

I have owned this car twice, this is the second time I have attempted to build it for a 4age.. First owned the car somewhere around 10 years ago.. Paid $700 for what was a decent car, as time went on I purchased an import corona turbo and got sick of the corolla. After sitting in the weather for a few years I decided to fit a 4age in it... After fitting the motor, getting extractors and a bunch of work done I got desperate and needed a wagon.. So I sold it for $1000 with brand new custom 4age extractors, modified radiator, recond (unused head), recond twin solex and a brand new redline manifold and a t50.. Sadly I lost an ASS load of cash car was stripped f…

G'day all, this is my latest project (car on the waiting list..) After wanting the car for about 4 months but not being able to afford it, the previous owner asked me if i had a commodore v6 engine for a conversion he's doing, ended up swapping a vt v6 wagon for the corona! its a little bit rough, but very good in the rust department, seems to only have a tiny bit on one of the rear wheel arches, has a few dents and some of the interior is a bit torn up, but still in pretty good condition for its age, i never used to like these mk2's much, but done right they can look really good :) and i now love the shape.... anyways here are some pics. stole the whe…

Ok, so the project really is in its infancy and to be honest, will probably take a shite load of time to complete, but here goes anyway. Firstly, the most burning question is going to be WHY THE f@ck would i go 3K??? Simple. Cams put a 1.7 capacity factor on for anything super /turbo charged and i wannted something Turbocharged (as one of our company divisions works with turbos) and wanted to run somewhat cheaply, hence i wanted to be in the under 2L class. So backwards configuring, 2000 / 1.7 = 1176cc, so the capacity of the 3k at 1165 is as close to perfect as you could want. Further to this, some people may know, that from a certain Cubic capacity, you'r…

Hey guys, so in November I purchased this 1983 Ke70, purchase title "the Steezy Little Keto" Purchase Date: November 6, 2011. Location: Brisbane. Condition: Stripped, rusty, dented, just bad overall. Price Paid: Ripped off!! $1800 in the condition shown in photos - I suppose I'm the idiot who payed it though. Engine: Stock 4k, 5 speed manual. Goods: Came on a Pair of dragways, and a Pair of BBS meshes, had a Tacho already, non locking handbrake, had a rear visor. Bads: Pretty much the entire car. Nice sticker on the back window? I got the car home excited as shit and straight away took it out into my local streets and had a blast, once retur…

Suppose I should start a build thread . Even though I am probably not going to start the build for 6 months or more . Plenty of time to collect the bits I need. In the middle of a AE86 RESTO so it is taking all my time and money. So here is the plan , I am going to build it to peroid goodness , but not going to be anal about KE15 Exactness . She already has had a 3k engine and a later 4 speed gearbox fitted. Plus the horrendous , non adjust drums have been replace with KE17 disc set up. Car is only going to be a weekender on Historic Rego , so I will freshen the 3K , mid cam , twin asian and reco suspension and diff and drive line. Back to bare metal respray , a f…

Hey guys, I picked up this beast a few weeks ago, she's a 1973 Corona, 4 speed manual with the 12R motor. When I bought her she was similar to these pictures, the paintwork was pretty neglected and dull but has come up nearly perfect with some love, I have also smashed some Whitewalls on and have just bought a new grill today (not yet fitted). She has 108xxx miles on her and is all original apart from being lowered, perfect interior and a sweet little thing to cruise in. Toying with the idea of keeping her original or doing some kind of weber conversion etc on her - feel free to give me your opinions!! I'm on my iPhone at the moment, but will put up some more pict…

hey as some of you already know that i had a ke70 with a 4agze then got a ke20 with worked 4k in it, selling my ke20 was the biggest regret i had so from that point i always wanted to get another one so now I'm back in the rolla scene with a fleet of cars. so i started by finding a ke20 on gumtree, car was in pretty bad condition and missing a lot of parts. it was mid way though a ca18det conversion when i snapped it up as i said she was had a ca18det and rb20 gearbox in it before i got it so was left with cut tunnel :S first thing was to do is weld a tunnel in so after hours with the welder the whole was filled, i planed to put a 4k in so next i fitted a…

I thought i was over Corolla's for a while.. Apparently not! Basically bought it to quickly tidy it up and make a half practical daily.. My lowdown Celica and Crown are far from ideal.. So here it is! My Ke38 Body is a bit rough, Fair few rust patches and a few dents will need the porta power but pretty happy with it. Plan is to weld in Celica rear guards as the rear arches are fubar, Weld up the rust, Drop in a motor and rego it I'll do some more to it than that but those are the initial plans. Also 10 points if you can recognise the car
