So currently residing in my home country of South Africa for a while. Of course my current demographic area will change the options of classic cars compared to Aus. But Corollas , this place has plenty ! The great thing about finding/hunting for classic cars in this country is that we have large cities inland very far from the sea's salty breeze and humidity. That is where this story beginnings in a city called Pietermaritzburg. I posted an ad on our local Gumtree looking for Corollas,Datsuns,Cressidas and boy was i offered some nice stuff, 1200Gx, Mx32's, and many many Ke70/71s but one stood out, A Red Ke70 , 1 owner from new , and paper work and I mean ALL …

I bought this car intending to put it on club plates and when i turn 18 it will be my daily. Pros about this car specifically - Ke70's are my favourite of all Corollas I'm familiar with the 4K Its BEAUTIFUL Came on some nice meshies Its in good nick generally Came with some nice speakers/sub Cons- A small amount of rust in the boot seal (10c piece) and some bubbles on the roof Interior is a bit worn and teared, but easily fixed with covers. It's a flat front, i love slanty cars but this one is growing on me :P Bonnet is a differ…

I picked up a 1974 TE-27. I was searching for a first gen celica and missed out on a crazy good deal for a 76, but I am glad I did because I found this one. Some people call these mangos. The guy was super cool about selling me the car. He wouldn't sell the car to anyone. He told me how he denied the sale to other people that were not Toyota or JC enthusiast. Its an auto. 2tc. 4:10 diff. I will have to do some rust repair in the front due to the battery leaking, and a some minimal rust spots around the car. It runs, but needs fuel system cleaned. Needs brake work etc. etc. Its a project. Pics! enjoy:

Hi guys. I found your forum from Google and joined immediately!! So, i bought this -69 KE15 from my friend, that had the car about 11 years in the garage. I sold it to him in year 2000, and he didn't had the time to build it. So i got my youth back and the car was in the same shape that when i sold it. Engine is a 3K bigport, maybe someone has changed the cam, at least it feels like it, lol. The body is original, i think. I can't find any weldseams!! You can imagine how warm this ride is in the winter... This morning it was - 18 C, and cranked her up.. . Here's couple pics of the Rolla. Stay tuned.. - Tero

Some of you may remember me from my turbo AE86: http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/68849-ae86-4agteall-the-gear-no-idea/page__p__678061#entry678061 I've continued the Sprinter theme and aquired a genuine KE17 SL. I have been on the search for along time for one of these. When this one came up in WA, I had to jump on it. After the deal was done and the car sent over on the train, it landed at my place. I finally came home from work 2 weeks later and have been able to have a good look at it. I'm very happy. It needs work, but what 45 year old car doesn't???

  10. Since changes to my employment situation were forced upon me in December, I have been belting around in my mechanics AE91 Levin. Its been quite a pleasant place to be, but two doors didn't really suit having a 5 month old bub. So when this very clean AE95 wagon popped up on carsales for not much money, complete with rego until August, I thought it might be worth a look. Seeing some of the TCCAV lads's machines also helped the cause, their fondness for them is infectious!! Rocked on down to Frankston on Sunday, took it for a drive, did the deal and brought her home. I am very pleased with how clean it is. Allegedly owned by mechanics previous to the owner I bou…

Hi, Just wanted to show you my KE10, it's in Malta (EU) and is a 4-door version. I own the car for 3 years now and currently respraying it. When I bought the KE10 it was in reasonable condition but sprayed 3-4 times over the original paint, causing some strange effects over the years. I am the second owner of the car.

  12. Thought I's post some belated build photo's of my AE92 Khanacross car, There's not a lot of information out there for them, so could be a helpful resource to people contemplating this path in the future. I was fortunate to get this ex-roadcar from a guy at work, who had spent a bunch of money on it with the wrong people, and become disenchanted with it. Originally he wanted quite a bit of money for it, but I managed to eventually prise it from him for not a lot at all. It still had it's issues, faded paint, dents poorly repaired, rust, horrible wiring with a typical boyracer stereo and lowered suspension.W When it first arrived. Start stripping everything…

this is my 1981 KE70 panelvan, bought for nearly nothing off an elderly man. had no modifications apart from a crappy immobilizer that eventually shit itself in the middle of nowhere with only a screwdriver and a pair of pliers to bypass it... also it got defected about a week before the rego ran out, but its all been fixed awaiting a vehicle inspection. this is a photo of what it originally looked like just with black stockys have since done only visual mods (just until it passes inspection {if it passes inspection haha})

Got the first stage of the Gorilla done, 4 link rear end, shortened Hilux Diff with ford axles and disc brakes, coarse adjustable inverted watts link, adjustable sway bar, in a KE55. The plan with the car is to build a bit of an all rounder, as we don't get enough drag racing, or track racing here to specialise in one or the other. I'm building it so that I can adjust bars/springs change wheels and tyres and have a bit of fun any chance I get. A bit like a track car that I can get to hook up at the strip. Has been 2 years to get this far, but slow progress is still progress! I have a Commodore K-frame sitting on the floor in the shed, and I've heard that they can be put …

yet another find for me out in the sticks :) I saw this car advertised on a local facebook sales page earlier in the year for $500, and after not being able to find the page again assumed it had been sold. long story short the supposed buyer wasn't interested in doing any repairs after inspecting it (has a few patches of rust) so the owner pmd me and offered it to me for $150 because she was moving overseas and needed it gone, so I'm the new proud owner :) its a 1977 ke30 4 door auto, rust in usual places, interior is half shagged, smells of mice and old people, but it runs and drives......but doesn't stop as the brakes need work :/ so far I have stripped the interior, cl…

So I have recently began prospecting Tijuana Mexico for some classic Japanese cars. I live in San Diego and now am looking into importing cars from Mexico mostly interested in Datsun, Toyota and some Honda. I began to network with some car heads down south and have come to meet a group that meets frequently. The cars are not the best but I hope to befriend many of these guys in hopes of buying their cars from them and bringing them to CA. Here are two cars in which I came across today August 8th, 2015. I am also looking into how to export these shells or rolling chassis to other countries perhaps Europe.

I ended up with another project car. It is a 1975 (pre-smog for CA) TE38 E5. I bought it cheap. I drive 300+ miles to see the car. The ad said "Runs Good". I got there and he said it hasn't been driven for 7 years and he had just got it started. He had owned the car for a long time. It served as a first car for all 3 of his kids. I checked it over, bought it, did some minor engine work, and drove it 324 miles home with no issues. The car drives well, but an engine rebuild is needed. It has low power due to compression. It's ugly as sin. The pictures make it look better than it actually is.

Hey guys, This is my 1993 Toyota Corolla SE Limited. It's a Japanese import and has all of the features you would expect out of Japan, except it's now a little different from a bog standard grocery getter :) It was completely standard when I bought it, but I've done a number of mods to it over the last 5-years of ownership so far, including a 4A-GE 20v Blacktop swap at the end of 2012. I've almost reached my goal of finding every single optional extra that was available from new, including some of the rarest items, such as the AirFantasy fragrance control system. This first post will remain updated with all of the current modifications and photos. To view upda…

  24. We decided to buy yet another 82, this one being very very tidy for its age. The rundown: 85 model CSX. Auto, air, steer. 237000ks. Engine rebuilt at 18****ks - 10 years ago. Very clean interior. New suspension. New cv shafts. New rear muffler. New starter. New rear wheel cylinders etc. I got it with a blown head gasket and found that the cause is a corroded head that overlapped the firing ring on the cylinder, I have another head here at work so it will be cleaned up and put on. The pistons are .5 (.020) oversize and the bores and exceptional.

I decided to buy my Girlfriend, Amber, a car. She had always talked about her dad owning an AE82 Corolla Seca when she was little that he called the BLAT. I thought it would be nice to get her a Corolla the same model as the BLAT she loved so much... I found this one on gumtree, It was located in Mt.Bryan. Me and my brother went for a cruise down there in the Celica, It was a lovely drive =P Anywho, When we arrived we checked it out and made sure it was a good runner. 30. About time I put up a rides thread on my 1969 KE15 Toyota Corolla Sprinter, since its been 6 months since I bought it. The purchase came about as I had a hankering to own another classic besides the Celica, which I could put on club reg and use for the odd spot of hillclimbing, Sunday cruising etc, and be less precious about it - the Celica spends more time in the garage than it should because I am terrified someone will open their door on it in a carpark, or its raining, or the day ends in Y... etc etc. I spotted a KE15 on ebay that was a bit rough around the edges, but I figured in time with some love I could get it to fit the brief.
