A good friend of mine, Chris Scott suggested I start a build thread on a new rally car project Ive just started. I picked up a 2 door ke30 from a wrecker on Monday and have It already striped for some rust repairs,seam welding and roll cage.

Just picked up the new project car. Its not a Corolla this time, but its still a Toyota.

So whilst technically this is the wife's car, I'm the one burdened with modifications, taking photos, and posting of pictures/stories in the appropriate forums. Introducing Daphne. Yes, we like to name all our cars. However, the first name my wife chose (Artoo, since she loves R2D2 and the blue is perfect) didn't quite gel when we decided after the first few days of ownership that HE was actually a SHE. So far, Daphne has come out as the likeliest alternative, but we're still not 100% sold on the name so it may change again the future. G'day everyone, New to the forum and thought id share my KE70 that I inherited from my Wifes late Aunty. She purchased it brand new from the local Toyota dealer and daily drove it during the 80's and 90's. Towards the end of her driving career she had a few accidents in it and gave up her license 10yrs ago. It sat in her garage up until I was lucky enough to be given it. I've owned it for 3yrs and daily drove it for 12months before parking it up and forgetting about it. After a couple years of not using it, it got a little neglected and the usual rust etc has got worse and its time to give it some TLC. I'll keep this thread updated when I do more work to it …

Hello everyone. Just invested in a new daily while I take the ae71 off the road. Its an ebay special, 90,000klm RA60 ST 2.4l 22RE Auto. It has air con and seems to be in immaculate condition. The auction has just ended and I'm anxiously waiting for the seller to contact me. I can't wait to go and look at it for the first time. I'm planning only a manual conversion and a full service for it. If the tyres are good I'm not going to change the wheels, Ill just have it buffed and tidied up and maybe headers and that's where the mods will end. So I thought it was about time I jumped on here and shared my car...I bought it in mid 2012,put it straight into storage and its been sitting covered in dust since..needed a bit of work and kind of got side tracked.. yeah crazy I know.. :) So think its time to fix her up bit and enjoy her.

With the need of something more practical (carting the kid's bikes around mainly) I decided to get myself a new daily. Always wanted one of these since I saw them in NZ about 12 years ago. Hi everyone. New here. My name's Steve and this is my first corolla. I've heard a few times over the years that these cars are special. Now I own one I see why. This one cost me $750 and had no rear muffler and a smashed windscreen, which is getting fixed Thursday, but even the few drives I've had in it have me smiling and wanting to get it back to its best. The body is rough with a few dents and scrapes etc but there is no rust to speak of and it's mechanically great at this point. Well after 16 years of faithful, faultless motoring in my NCP10 Echo - I got a flat tyre. So I bought a new car! I'd been watching the development and release of the new Corolla and last weekend I put a deposit down on a 'Blue Flame/Eclectic Blue' manual Ascent Sport with the factory option Satnav/privacy glass/Double J radio pack. Evidently nobody buys manual cars anymore, let alone bright blue ones optioned with Double J radio, so at worst it will be on the slow boat from Japan to arrive "before Christmas!" Hi guys i recently sold my Legnum VR4 twin turbo V6 wags blah blah blah. Got over it to be honest. I have been wanting a ke20 corolla for the most part of life :blinks: just never got around to it... So i've had a ke70 1.3 SR coupe (jdm fastback 4k auto, 6" diff) since 2001 which was a daily + drift hack for many years running a 3tgte, w57 and kaaz 7.5" 2way in it's final guise (2013). For the passed 5 years I have dailyd my 36 wags. Was long overdue for some love but between living out of home and working full time it never quite got the love it deserved. Thanks to COVID I didn’t have to worry about either of those things. So, here’s a pretty comprehensive list of all the work I’ve done over the passed couple of months. Hey guys. This is my little '77 ke30 sedan daily drive - Shiro-Bōzu. The name is Japanese for a white spirit. I felt the name to be pretty fitting. I'm the second owner of the corolla, the first was an elderly lady who'd had it since new. The car came with every single service reciept including original purchase papers and only had 76xxx genuine k's on it at the time I purchased it in 2011. It currently has 91xxx on the clock. Hi All. Scotland based newbie here, with a KE25 imported from Australia. The long term plan here is to do a restoration with a 4AGE running on carbs. Well it has finally happened, today I went and picked up the sedan that I have been contacting the owner about for 6 months, here is a basic run down of the car. 1985 CSX 5spd sedan. 268,xxxk's (somewhere there, didn't really take much notice). Decided to restore a Ke 55 from the ground up and customise it along the way. I've been sitting on this project for a year now. I purchased a 79 in typical fashion, bogged like pork dressed as lamb. She came with a five speed and an engine dumped in the bay. Her black interior was completely removed and stored in the cab along with a spare manifold, radiator and all the bits and bobs you want. While her dash is seamless the rear arches and the usual suspects in bottom corners of the rear glass are present along with the expected rust in the front quarters and a kilo of dirt under each of them.

Hey all. Gribble here from Sydney. Just thought id share some info on my little Rally Project I'm currently building. Its going to be a fairly straight forward KE70, 4k, 5 speed, totally stripped interior, bilstein shocks, adm ae86 brakes, cage, seats, harnesses etc etc. Nice and simple for a starter. So far ive gotten the shell totally stripped down, I have removed the sound deadening from the interior and 90% of the crap tar stuff from underneath. Ive begun to stitch the chassis seams together to gain some torsional rigidity. Next step is to do the seat mountings and the cage. PICS! Ok ive finally uploaded some pics of the build.
