I've been itching for a few photos of the slanty and flat fronts side by side. So we went for a bit of a drive out to (quite possibly) THE best meetup point off in the corner of Sunnybank Plaza, on the rooftop car park. It's basically this empty 24/7 from the looks of things. It completely escaped me to take pictures of the engine bays next to one another (ESPECIALLY the slanty), but I'll post up a few when I next get a chance. I'll start off with a few that are sure to please Reed :D aaaaaaaaaaaaand here's a shot of those tertiary bonnet restraints... you know.... for those 200km/h passes an almost standard rolla can achieve, yo…

Not a Corolla I know but thought some might be interested. Copied and pasted from another site. Bought this yoke near two years ago. Was a standard 1 liter 4 speed. Been working on it since, AE86 brakes, coilovers, extra lock powersteering knuckles, NCRCAs, rear gaz coilovers, underneath fully repainted, all new brake lines, seals, pads/shoes, etc. Fully pollybushed. Basically every type of serviceable part replaced, track rods, TCAs etc. Rebuilt a 1.3 4k about a year ago, fitted a TRD 2 way LSD redid the bottom end then, went again, fitted a 4age on bike carbs. Will just let pictures do the talking.

Righto, joining the KE70 club as of tonight :D Just bough myself a bone stock KE70 Sedan that's in very good condition but a few things that need to be attended too. Is meant to be a project car and I'm also gonna drive it during wintertime this year when its snowy and slippery, so the 4K-C should keep up :P Might end up putting a 4A-GE into it cause that would be a lot of fun but I'm not sure i can handle all the technical stuff that comes with that yet.

Hi everyone, this is my first project build car. I have a ae102r corolla which I have done work on, but never done a build to this extent. A mate of mine traded a case of corona's for this car off some guy wanting to get rid of it. It had been sitting in a locked garage for 3 years with no rego and prior to that only been driven around locally. He was the original owner and bought it new from the Toyota dealership. It has 145,000km on the clock which I'm pretty happy with. I ended up buying this car off my mate for a few hundred which was the price for the replaced door and guard which he had purchased to fix the damaged ones on the car. The engine is staying stoc…

Hey guys, I thought Id start a build thread of my KE55. Was bought as a rusty old snotbox, but with a good interior, strong 4K, and moderately low kms for its age (159,000). Picked it up for a very nice price with 6 months registration. Originally the car was purchased as a daily, whilst My Soarer is reserved as a weekender. However, the rolla bug bit, and I have started to spend some decent coin on the beast. The project started with the intention of keeping it as a daily with some gimmicky traditional and JDM mods (220mm dildo shift knob, OMP deep dish wheel, 14" jellybeans). I left it at this for a while, with some decent 6x9s in spacers, and 4" splits in the …

wasnt sure if id bother with a 'Rides' thread. In fact, i was going to sell her for a mate's 'Rolla, as i didnt have the time to do what is needed. But then Master Yoda(Luke/mate from the forums) said: "Power, she will have. Patience, you will need" let me Iterate, this is not to criticize previous owners. i bought her 'as is' and checked her over before handing over the cash. i bought 'the dream' or what she will become, much like Francis Dollarhyde in Manhunter ultimately wanted, the chrysalis to the butterfly. So here we are I figured what I'm learning as i go, may help others. you've all prob seen Mason's Ride thread, so i wont bore you with the details. B…

Hey guys, have a build thread on 86dc but thought since I've gotten so much info etc from this forum, and I'm on it every day I might as well chuck it up here too! Most of this is just copy pasted over so might not make all that much sense haha. Have owned the car for about 3 years, love it more every day. Anyway here's a rough specs list; - 4k, 4spd - Pacemaker extractors - 1.75" exhaust with a resi and old oval muffler - Strut brace - T18 front bumper (have a rear but haven't made mounts for it) - Tacho in dash - Rev limiter - Nardi - Volk racing mesh 14x7.5" & 8" - Special rear flares (you'll see) And that's about it for now. I'm al…

I got it for free from my wifes-sisters-boyfriends-mother, chucked 12 months rego on it, service, vacume, on the bumps, Gun metal gray steelies and 5 new tyres. It's my DD that hasn't let me down in 12months of owning it. 4k-auto is lacking some power, but i think i have a 4K with a maunal coming to fix that :D I always had intentions to 1uz it, but so does everyone else, so here are the realistic plans  *Replace all wheel bearing *All bushed front and back *Cam grind *Turbo *Jetted 4k carby *Rub back and repaint white *Decent rims *Rolled guards *jap spec drift pig I'm not after the yyyaaaaahhhhh-ptsssss…

Nancy '81 KE70 Auto Flat Front. Ex-Rental from Ace Car rentals Picked her up last year some time. Was really into the 4age conversions and i wanted to do it badly. Bought it for $400 with a 4 speed thrown in. Hendo drove it back to his house, where we marvelled at it for an hour or so. He had some star sharks lying around, i instantly fell in love. She is in perfect condition except for the body work and interior, only cosmetic. The body is perfectly straight no rust in the chassis. There was a bit of bubbling in the rear fenders and the paint was starting to fade from being left in the sun its whole life. She has a blue interior which I don't re…

Hey people, I'm James and I have a red ke70. I bought the keseventy near the start of the year, mainly as something new and my mates were saying they were the best and I was like couldn't be, so long story short decided to buy one. I bought it crashed, the bloke hit a kangaroo coming home from VIctor Harbour, when I first asked about it it wasn't so I got pictures of it before and after. When I saw it I new what my mates were talking about. I got the car with no stereo, etc for $500 but got it with a Strut brace, tacho dash and Supra seats. I drove the car from Marion to Para Hills crashed passing seven police cars. ( Shit myself everytime cause it was loud a…

(Pictures not owned/taken by me) Well, I've been through a couple Corollas in the last 6months, A Ke30,Ke36 and a Ke10. Finally got what I wanted, and I plan to keep this one for a while, (Unless I can get a Sprinter in as good as condition or a TA22/RA23 Celica :harhar: ) Currently using it as A daily, but next month I can get my RE bike licence or import a Nissan Cube and it will then be under a locked garage and getting things done quicker... Don't want to do too much, as it runs beatifully how it is now, just get it back to how it was 40years ago. - Fix hood lining - Fix rest of rust (most has been done) - Rims (at this point Ill keep it…

Gents, The gentlemen I bought it off is a shade under 60, and bought the car brand new, off the showroom floor back in 1983. It has been garaged all its life, and driven to and from the shops. It has 200,000kms which works out to be around 6800kms a year! Comes with original log books, and a full service history. It has had a bit of rust in the past, but the gentlemen I am purchasing off actually took it to a shop, got the rust cut out, and new metal welded in. PICS: Current Plans for the car are as follows: - Full wash, claybar, polish and wax - Interior Shampoo + Steam Cleaning - Engine bay degrease + pulling out parts and re…

Hey so as you all know not so long ago I purchased a KE55 off of Twitch on RC and managed to roll it in the same night. (See attached Pics). Just letting you all know that my wonderful mother (Mumma's boy now I can admit it lol) decided she wanted to take a holiday and offered to tow it home for me. So it drove onto the car trailer starting first go, off of the car trailer and is now at my uncles awaiting to get fixed. Should be getting sent the pictures of it still on the trailer soon to put up. Oh and I'm annoyed because the tow driver that took it to the crash repairer's managed to snap off both mirrors and not even pick them up! The plan is for it to be fixe…

Hey guys, Basic information for those that don't know me. I'm now 20, Second year apprentice sparky. Loved cars but absolutely no history on them. I feel that I missed out on a fair bit of my childhood not learning anything about these mad machines. So thats a massive f**k you to the parents. I learnt to drive in a N13 Pulsar then quickly sold up in a few months to buy an FTO, which gave me trouble and cause I didn't know sh*t I was getting eaten by a mechanic for a while. I sold up cause I got over the bills. Then I bought another, and then another! I then moved on to a newer car (RX-8) Which has been good to me, just general maintenance. But my problem…

Hello everyone! I am new here, and just thought I would show you guys my current work in progess! 1985 Toyota corolla sedan (ae82) with only 120770 original km on it (got it from a priest). No rust, no dents just door dings, perfect interior oh and it came with an air freshener - BONUS! Downsides: Auto trans, not low enough (yet), sexy paint matching interior, fwd To do list: Wider Rims and tires, spacers (CHECK) Lowering springs and new shocks (because I'm stylish) exhaust and muffler (check) jdm Fog lights (check) New jdm front emblem …

HI all so ive been on here for a while religiously watching peoples progress on there ke projects.and finnaly decidded to add mine its a ke11 it had a 5k 5peed otherwise pretty standed unfortunately just before Christmas the diff blew so as i was replacing diff i decided to lower it as well. even more unfortunate i had major issues with the diff being a different drive shaft bolt pattern and so it sat in my garage for a while and to add to my bad luck my house went under in the floods taking the car with it. water receding after floods leaving it wet and muddy after i stripped the interior and water blasted it very strange feeling. so at this point …

Hey doods, After the death of my last KE55 sedan at a khanacross i was in search for another one. In a little country towm outside of canberra i found this: Its a 1979 KE55 sedan and its awesome! Another granny car but an apprentice mechanic was doing a headgasket and snapped a headbolt and they ceased opperations. So after weeks of me going to for a drive again and again i finally got them to sell it :) So the plan is to put my motor in it and make it very nice.. Teaser pics.. No cracks here

more details to come guys ;)........................... ok thats long enough. for the life of me i can't remember the year model (71 i think?). ok so story is, this is my brother in laws ke20, that hasnt seen the road in over 6 years. he was driving home from work one day, and the engine started making horrible banging noises :hmm: not being very mechanical minded, he creeped it back to his place and parked it under a tree in the back yard, which is where it sat for a few years. few years after he moved house, and when they had a bit of a get together i thought we could drag it to his new place and have a look at the motor(after i had been working with a few mechanic…

G'day! I've been checking out this forum for a long while so thought I had better join and introduce myself!! My name is Michael and I've had my little KE25 for about 14 years now - some of you may know me from TOYMODS or AUSROTARY. It took me around 6 years to get it road worthy the first time - only to have it broken into and stripped for all the good parts. Another 2 years later and more money saw it back on the road with new interior. About 2 years after that, I blew the engine and gearbox at Eastern Creek and the car was off the road again for another year!! New engine and new gearbox was installed only to finally blow the standard diff up!! (surprise surprise…

This is my AE71 this is the car the day i got it, already 4AGED i got 8 defects in my first 48 hours of driving it and decided to change some shit. one of the main defects was rust. so i ground it back and this is the shit i found. by the time i cut it out this is all the roof i had left in some places... dad and i cut and fabricated some metal and i had a go at my first real bit of welding with a mig welder. getting the settings right for such thin metal was a pain, but once it was dialed right it was basically point and shoot :) once the rust and stuff had been cut out it was time to be get the spray putty on and primer. t…

Well, I traded ReCOUPErator some money for what you see below. This car will now be built in memory of my best friend, who passed away on the 6th August, 2007. My aim, if I have the money, is to have the car done by her 1 year anniversary of her passing, though thats going to be VERY tough to do, if not, I'll make it by summer 2008. Everyone on here may or may not have seen this car sitting in the forums, but I thought I would share it with you all. Its quite nice to drive, now that I've had it tuned and serviced. With the timing sitting on TDC, it used quite a bit of fuel, but that's all sorted. I really havent done too much to it since I got it. …
