Hi All I have a Ke35 with a 4age 100kw in it. I have a full rebuild kit and am ready to strip it down and do the job. Before I do so, however, I need to ask is there anyway I can get a small power increase while I'm doing this? I have been going through all the forum topics and have seen many about adding a turbo or supercharger, although, when it is all said and done it would probably be cheaper to just buy a 4agze half cut and start again. This all ends up being too expensive for me. The real questions I need to ask then are: Can you buy different pistons to increase compression, like dome tops? Has anyone shaved the head? Are these bad ideas for this engin…

Hey guys, I have recently become fed up with the fact that you cannot get any more 4age clear timing covers so i thought id give it a shot at getting them made, I found a place that is keen to do them and he estimated the mould to be around 900 bucks, I am sending one of my top covers to their shop tomorrow so he can see what process needs to be taken to make them but 900 bucks plus the final product is alot for just one clear cover so i wanna know how many others would be keen on getting one made, I'm unsure of a price for the final product as yet and i don't have 1 made but if i can approach him and say i have 20 or so people wanting one then they might make it alot che…

Hey Guys, I want to make this thread to talk about 4K builds! Everyone post your *K motors and what you have running & even post ideas, people want to know what the K motors love! Even I want to know.... personally i don't know much about carb motors nor the K series motor, so if you guys were to explain how you think to make Hp 4k's What I would think you would do is simple. Port & polish the head Aggressive cam profile 7k crank bore out to fit 5k pistons have a fiddle with the carburetor (Fatten up the mix) High flow extractors and exhaust Port intake What's your idea? Cheers Dylan

G'Day all, I have a bit of an issue. I currently own a AE71 with a 4A-C motor in it, I am a P-Plater, and i'm unsure if it is legal for me to put a 4A-GE (103kW) in an AE71. I'm asking if anyone knows for sure, whether it is legal or not for me to install a 4A-GE in my AE71 (i.e. P-PLater Friendly). Also, does anyone know if a P-Plater can drive a car with mod plates? It would be greatly Appreciated. Gecko71.

In my readings on this forum I've found mention of wheel spacers being illegal.... I worked on a BA falcon RTV last week, I replaced a noisy front wheel bearing. Now the RTV is a jacked up falcon ute, and as such has somewhat different looking goodies in the suspension/hubs etc. They are fitted from the factory with a spacer plate between the wheel and the hub. They also have longer wheel studs than a standard falcon ute. I would also like to point out that there is nothing that directly mentions wheel spacers in the RTA's big orange registration inspection standards folder. HOWEVER, you must not increase your track width by more than one inch... conclusion: not i…

Whatever happens to all the K55 5 speed shift levers. It seems that many members (including myself) are wanting the said item. Do they break, do they go to shift lever heaven, or is some crafty bugger out there collecting them all ?

I was considering purchasing a tow car as the sprinter is becoming more and more painful to drive on the street. Plus I was after something a bit more comfortable to drive around daily. requirements are Decent towing capacity fairly new ie late 80s early 90's pwr steer, A/C etc preferably a toyota i assume auto would be better for towing but I would prefer manual as it wouldnt really see that much towing. RWD obviously as far <10k as possible <5k would be better All I can think of that fits that description is a MX83 cressida. Tidy examples can be picked up for around 5k and they come with all the options I want but I'm open to suggestions if yo…

Choosing paint is probably a bit.. tricky in a way. Well for me it is anyway. As it can tell a bit about the car and how it looks and everything. What do you all think would be better paint option for a KE55 coupe out of these three choices. Also to help, either a 4agze or an sr20det may be going into it.. I am also sorry if it annoys anyone about maybe copying paint.. I just like the colours too.. First up, Demuires KE35 Second, Montanas KE35 Lucky third, It isn't a Corolla.. Though it is the Camaro off Transformers.

Hi... I have an AE82 twin cam (4 wheel disc brakes) and the hand brake doesn't work. The rear calipers have been professionally rebuilt, one new hand brake cable has been replace (adjustment at the handle end is working & both cables now pull evenly) and yet there is still very little hand brake function. As the rear calipers have been resleeved and overhauled I'd like to think this is not the problem. By the way, the hand brake was the same prior to the calipers being done. Has anyone had any experience with this issue on the AE82's or any suggestion as to what to do? Cheers...

Thought i'd post up some pics of some rims i just made, well modified anyway...... Had a pair of 15x7" 4x114.3 chasers sitting around the yard for a few years now, originally from a 2001 Kia Carnival(i think) I bought a few sets cheep when i worked at bob jane, but these were all i had left. they were obviously FWD offset,so a ghastly fit on any datto or rolla....... Now i'd done this b4(out the back)when i worked at bob jane, with the exception i didn't weld them, so i sorta knew what i was doing......Anyway I got to grinding away the old welds, slowly and carefully....although i still slipped and nicked the rim a few times,Until they were about gone. then …

Hey all, so I'm currently the new Proud owner of the ke20 that won 2009 corolla of the year. Yes the car is still around and going well, untill tonight. Went to a local jdm car meet at rousehill. The night was goin great, until highway patrol showed up thanks to the security guards!.. As usual the car attracts attention specially the eyes of the police officer as he quickly noticed my steering wheel displayed on the dash That I put to show off the NRG quick release that I just installed. From there he took out the defect book and went over the car. People around me told me to walk away from the car. So I did and returned an hour after to have my heart Bro…

We’re getting closer and closer to Meguiar’s MotorEx – The car show that should have been marked on your calendars since the start of the year! This year’s event is going to be huge. The quality of metal being put on display is second to none, and it’s already shaping up to be something special. We’re able to bring you a sneak-peak of what you can expect to see inside the dome. Across all classes there have been a number of spectacular entries, so the judging panel is going to have a hard time selecting winners from such a collection of fine automobiles. Kicking things off is Kevin San’s Hakosuka Skyline. This stout piece of JDM muscle has a huge fan base…

hey most of you have seen our car as it has been around for a while but its now its time for the a redo. i'm going to try and do it sex-spec (bling, flashy, bright, neck snapper sorta thing) other wise the stuff i've already got for it will go to waste i.e. $3000 ICE system, re trimmed aftermarket seats, custom boot install. What i am doing is getting rid of the 18 inch wheels and going for something smaller but still achieve the look that I'm going any suggestions. i don't mind if they have big dish or whatever.

Thought it would be interesting to see some rollaclub members cars transition from stock to Rock! :P I'll start with my old 86. Here we see it in its stockness glory... Well it did have the miss matched wheels goin. (taken on my 18th birthday BTW) I learnt alot about car control and had lots of fun on the way... Then tradgedy struck! I blew the 4ac. boohoo I was devestated..... really.... for about .001 of a second. So then began the rebuild with twincam power as well as a diet. fast faward a few months and it was back and ready to hit the track. A defect forced me to paint the car again to make it look half presenabl…

ok guys sorry to post yet another stupid question but this shouldn't take long to resolve with all our ke25 nuts on here. is a ke25 a sprinter or a corolla technically. I know it is a corolla but everyone calls them ke25 sprinters but it doesn't appear to have sprinter written on it. in saying that the front guard has a badge that has a zigzag almost lightning bolt style S on it. does that mean it's a sprinter? stupid question I know but I'm stupid :) cheers Tom
