Hey guys, ive been trying to get Ke20 struts into my Ke10, ive tried using Ke20 balljoints in the Ke10 control arm, had all that bolted up no worries. Only problem is getting an outer tie rod to fit the Ke20 steering arm. Ive tried putting the whole Ke20 draglink, idler, pitman and tierods in. The drag link and inner tie rods hit the Ke10 crossmember. Only thing I can think to do is use the Ke20 crossmember but how do I mount the radius rod mounts? Ive seen them welded but I'm reluctant to do so because the thing is overrated and nearly 40yrs old. Any help appreciated! Cheers

hey guys i was wondering if any 4k's came out with electronic ignition if so what car were they in??? also what diff ratios would me ke70 5speed have? are there any shorter ratios that will fit in my diff housing??? any one selling 4k extractors please let me know thanks Alex

  3. Started by nelpd96,

Ok guys, I got sick of trying to find a decnet set if second hand extractors and decided to get a set from ebay. They were advertised as fitting KE10- KE70 corollas with the 4K-C engine. I don't know about the other cars but the sure don't fit the KE70 and they are a little on the small side. I basically had to cut them off at the collector to get them to fit and fabricate from there on. It is for my weekend fun car so it doesn't really matter in the long run but I thought that I should let you know to stay away from then as you will be wasting $250. Cheers Paul

  6. Hey guys! Some know about my plan to graft a 2T-G into a Ke-35 Coupe ... I have been looking for carbies and manifold to suit. I have discovered a neat little twin carb manifold and twin carbies (they look like side draught with a sliding sleeve device?) off a toyota Corsa. It would seem to be from a 3E motor. I have not been able to glean any more info than that, except that they came off a 1500cc or 1800cc SOHC motor from a jdm corsa. I am wondering if; A) The whole manifold will fit B ) If not A then will the carbies function for my application? Re-Jetting and other standard-type mods are acceptable. Thanks for your, most precious, time!

Does any one have any neat ideas on how to fix cracks in the dash. I don't have the money to replace the whole dash so I need a few ideas. I have considered covering it with a guage but i'm not sure how legal a gauge would be in that area. (the crack is on the passenger side right under the windscreen)

  9. Hi, After slowly working out how to get my solid lifter to 5K conversion sorted I decided to set my valve tappet clearence to what the K-B motor had which is 0.010mm intake and 0.023mm exhaust. But tonight I flicked through my 4K manual for a KE70 and it runs 0.020mm intake and 0.030 exhaust clearence. So what would be the better one to go with? the tighter K-B ones or the larger 4K ones? Also what is the possible problems I can expect with a gap that is to small or to large? Cheers Cameron

How ya going guys, ive got a 84 rolla S and its been running like dream ever since ive got it a month or 2 ago, now the carbie is playing up. I pull the choke all the way out it turns over alright i give it a bit of time to warm up a bit, then i press the choke in 1 click and the revs flaten out and still runs fine then when it warms up to the 1st marker on the temp guage then i take the choke off and it stalls without a second thought. when i give the car some revs it dosnt stall but as soon as i take my foot off the accelerator it dies so I'm assuming its an idle issue. i checked the coolent, dunno what posessed me to do it and its a milky colour and it smells…

I was changing the brake pads on the 30 today and broke a locating wire inside the caliper, so off to the wreckers i go. the guy said ther was a ke30 out in the yard so off i went. Went to get the part i needed....DIFFERENT!. I know this is very ignorant of me as i can recall reading several threads on how they were different but i simply never took any notice. Now, as i have a ke10 that needs disc brakes i will put the ke30 ones on it, but are the 55 ones a direct bolt in affair for a ke30?. they look like they are, the only thing that may be different is the brake hoses. Any help would be appreciated. (p.s. sorry to ramble on :P )

Hey My KE25 project has come to a halt today. The engine I got out of an early 72 KE20. I chucked the engine in my KE25 today to find out that it does not fit the KE25 4speed. The bolt spaces are different and don't line up at all. I still have the KE20 gearbox. Would that be the soloution? Would I need to change anything else? eg tailshaft? well, i pulled a diff out of a car for someone who wanted it gone assuming it was a standard ke70 diff. but his car was in fact a 4 door te71 from south africa or somewhere, i get the diff home, and its not the same as a ke70 one. i don't need it and curiosity is nagging at me wondering what it is. has drum brakes of 230mm minimum, as opposed to the 202 on a ke70, has an 8 bolt backing plate, and the tag on it says. 9g-2950007 M68 ratio: 4.11 097 58724 cheers, andrew

Hey Guys.. So i ave just finished a 4 month silvertop engine conversion.... i am having some issues. The engine has been completely re built... And it is in an AE82 Rolla CSX the twin cam 16 V came out of it. The 20V ECU is in it, as well as the 20V injectors. Now the Silvertop 20V is rated at (121 kW) at 7800 rpm mine will not rev past 7000 it seems like there is not enough fuel. Do i need to replace the 16 V Fuel Pump? Also the torque is supposed to have 162 N·m at 5200 rpm, The most of my torque seems to come in at 3900 RPM. It is really bothering me. Any thoughts at all...........

As many of you will know, I have a KE55 with a late model 4A-GZE (probably AE101). This runs the standard distributor-less twin coil ignition system, controlled by a Microtech MT8 ECU. Due to some bad wiring issues, one of my coils died, and I need to get a replacement. Unfortunately, these coils seem VERY hard to find. So if I can't get one of the standard ones, I need to know what other coil packs can be used instead. Someone has suggested to me that Commodore coil packs would do the trick, but I want to be certain before I start playing with things. Have any of you had experience with this version of the 4A-GZE and it's ignition system? If so, what coil pa…

I've been steering towards a KE70 as i really like the shape of the car in general and there seem to be alot of modifications out there available for the cars. My main question is, what sort of price will a close to stock KE70 be? I'd preferably look the square front (I'm assuming that's what it is, without the headlights slanting forward?), i prefer them over the other style of KE70. Any help wou…

Hi all, I've been considering buying one of these for a while: Innovate Motorsports LM-1 Plan is to wack an O2 bung in my exhaust(S), plug it in and take her for a run, dump a map of AF vs RPM, see what I get and tune accordingly. At the moment, the plan is to use it for Dellortos, and a K-Jetronic FI System. I'm keen to do it for the sake of learning and perhaps saving money on tuneups etc! Plus, If I get any good, I can tune other cars as well! Just wondering if anyone else has had tried their hand at this and what sort of fun they had? HAve they tried different units, what sort of setups have they tuned etc. Lend me your knowledge!! Cheers, …

  33. Hey guys, As some will know I've just brought a small port dizzy instead of a big port unit for my 4agte. But I have been tood a couple of times now that the small port dizzy has 4 wires and the big port only 3, but my old dizzy has 4 wires as well. So how many different dizzy's are there, could it be a gze dizzy? Anyway, What I was thinking and I have been searching, was to use the small port dizzy as a CAS and run multiple coil packs. Just wondering whats involved/needed. I'm running an Autronic ecu so that shouldn't be a problem The dizzy has 24+1 teeth like below Any info, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Though my father thinks that maybe an old Falcon XD? XF? Or something along there era might actually work good too. The weber was used on the 250 Cross-Flow engine that was in the cars. Does anyone know there CFM rate on there carby? I have searched a little on google and couldn't really find the right stuff. Cheers..
