Thought it was about time I put up a project thread. Since selling my ke11 I've felt the need to get some work done on my ke10 project. But seeing as I live 70kms from it and never get time to do anything on it i figured Id show you all where I'm up too... I have recently acquired a ke11, it had been sitting under a tree for like 25 odd years and i got it for next to nothin which is a bonus and the body is good part from one dint on the back next to r/h tail light. The car is pretty well complete bar a couple of small things. Has roll cage, ke30 discs (split system brakes), rx7 front strut inserts 12' wheels (buying some 13 or 14' superlites) Motor is a full house 3k. Has a huge cam, bigport head (not ported), twin 40mm webbers blueprint and balanced bottom end, datsun double valves springs, stainless valves, forged pistons, forged rods, revs to 10000rpm makes power at 4500rpm. 3 core rad re trimmed interior, heaps more but i don't have the list infront of me but its basically a full rebuild. Okay, so about a month ago i aquired a KE50. I pormised that it would go to a good home and since then i have make up my mind about what i am going to do with it. I have decided that i will be restoring it. Thankfully the previous owners had tracked down and already wrecked another KE50 which i accepted the parts. just lookig for some prices on a 4a or sr20 and came across this website http://www.japparts.com.au they have brand new 4y engines that look identical to the k's. they also have elect dizzies that look like they would fit a k engine. i've looked in the threads for suitable diffs for a worked 4k, hilux and commodore diffs are apparently to heavy, what about old mazda 626 or something cheap like that, could it take a floggin all day?

Started to pull it apart and slowley fix it all up. Then 3 weeks later this red one comes up for sale. Well guys, being thinking of what to do with my old '55, the dented up old bitch that used to have the 4ktc in it..... this car.... For a few months now I have been toying with the idea of converting it to 4x4 with suzuki sierra running gear! Because the sierras have a seperate gear box and 4wd transfer case, the plan was to put both sieraa diffs, the transfer case, front leaves and a mix match of steering racks. Sierras and corolla are pretty close in chassis rails spacing. Hey Hey, Well i finally got my Ke10 home today. 1st things 1st, RUST has a bit but luckily my uncle is Welder by trade and has a MIG and TIG setup at his joint so it doesn't worry me to much. No chassis rust just panels and front sills. No rust around the fuel filler which is good. Some parts are missing but most of the main parts are there. Des :bash:

Hey all, i bought this KE20 from a local forum member, I intend to restore it back to as close to original as possible. I repaired some rust and panel damage in the engine bay and have painted it D3 Bamboo, i sourced a stock 3k and toyoglide etc, good radiator and stock exhaust. Everything has been installed back in the engine bay as close as i can remember to where it would have originally been. I found a bonnet and guard from another forum member and now have the car on the road. It drives awesome and is even better on fuel. I will need to rebuild the brakes soon. I have enough paint to do the entire car and i plan to gradually prep it panel for panel as i drive it…

well ive been a user here for a wee while, asking a few ke10 related questions and here's why this is the old girl as i first bought it, wasnt running but managed to get it running for a bit. wasnt regd tho, after a bit of time i decided to see what was under the paint. putting these webers on the ute next week along with a worked 4k alloy head which has been ported/polished/flowed and cc,s, followed by a 40/80 cam.... hopefully this will make a lot of difference see pics before you all ask the question "YES" it is a toyota (toyota publica) with 4k engine and 4 speed box (also comes with 5 speed)
