hi guys my names harvie from vic, ill start from when i first bought my ke17 sprinter sl, i bought it 17 years ago as a cheap bomb to get around in and only paid about $1000 for it. i drove as a standard car for about 2 years then i just fell in love with it so i decided to paint it in kenworth stock white as i was a truckie and had access to some cheap paint. then i gathered some parts to build a 5k with a 5 speed so i did a cheap build just to get it to move just that little bit quicker. so now the time has come to stop playing around with the cheap stuff and so now I'm thinking about a 4agze t50 and a shortened hilux diff but may need help with moto…

  3. Hi all, sold my charade a few months ago and bought this to run around on: Bug Agility 125 It was fantastic till the rains set in....then it was time to get another reliable daily... Ended up going with a TOYlet (1998 Toyota Starlet LiFE) Just got an alarm/central locking put in, will have tints next week, and that's where the mods end. This car is AWESOME! for a 1.3 it's heaps quick and extremely well built. would recommend it to anyone looking for a reliable an fuel efficient daily. Cheers, Mark

Okay, I've decided to list Lola in the Projects section. This topic will cover any stuff I do to improve her and also what I plan to do. For those of you unaware, below are her current specs. 1981 KE55 4-door AE101 4A-GZE T50 transmission Borg-Warner KE55 diff (currently broken, soon to be welded) I have at this stage removed the back seat, carpets, and heater. Remember, this car is for circuit racing only. I could have got her registered (she's been registered when owned by the first owner), but it'd be too much hassle and I want to make her the best race car I can afford to, and that will probably make her unroadworthy. Now, here's what I'm currently …

Now that i've given the old girl a proper clean up i thought id post up a few details. While it is still far from finished i gave it a cut and polish just to see how the original paint (most of it) would look. Basicaly it started out like a dirty ass chalk board and now its back to its original white, with a brilliant shine through it. It took me about 13 hrs to complete from start to finish over a few days with a bit of gin time as well. Next time if i get carried away i might put the clay bar on it but i should really remove the rusted spots first. I used the meguiar's medium cutting compound and a $70 supercheap adjustable orbital buffer, I'm extremel…

3K began to chew oil, valve seals gone, bottom end barings gone, few other tiddley bits going pear shaped. Decided to send it to engine hospital and have a makeover. I know, a 3K is not worth it but it is something to waste money on. Step one. Took out the engine. Took half a day. Step two. Pulled every thing apart. Send bits off. Turned out two of the rear cylinders had absolutely NO water flow around them, totally cloged with crap. Good time to pull apart it would seem. The cam was absolutely hammered aswell. Lots of uneven ware. Step three. Bit of a clean up and some maintinence. Went to town on the engine bay, spent…

This I hope will tell the story of an unloved KE30 who rises from the weeds to become a successful track-day car. As the title reads the budget is just $500usd so there won't be any big boost turbo twincam swaps. I plan to use this car for solo racing so high HP is not that important. I found this little car languishing in disrepair under a sticker bush. Fiddling with the carby I managed to get her moving and away from the bush. Surprisingly there was little rot but plenty of surface rust and the frame rails were solid. Anyway the pics. This is how I found her (try not to cry) the air cleaner was on the pass floor. I will post more pics as she pro…

I recently bought a good condition a 1974 KE25 Deluxe Coupe which means it has AIR CONDITIONING!!! named "Lady Brown" It is a 1.2 litre 3K-h 2 speed automatic toyoglide which heavily lacks in acceleration! It is dead stock but my plans are to put a larger carby in it, possibly twin SU's or just a single webber and to do a manual conversion. It has several very small dents on the doors due to inconsiderate people in carparks, to solve this problem i have installed some bumper strips stretching the entire length of the car. i actually think it looks better like this. There are few small spots of rust no bigger than a five cent piece on the roof as well as the boot …

I pulled in next to it and started eyeballing it badly. It had a smashed front. At first i thought it was dumped. had no reg on it either. I said to the gf shit that thing could come up alright.
