Ok So i havent been on here in a while as i have been torrying around for a while as some of you know but the financial crunch got the better of me and i was forced to sell up I Then decided i really wanted a revvy 4 banger again for a bit of fun driving (and something i could park anywhere without worrying) Soooooo an early birthday present from the wife got me this gem Needs some paint work mainly on the roof & bootlid interior is pretty damn good (tacho dash FTW) but it runs and drives like i just picked it up from the dealership Not a powerhouse (4af woohoo) but its not too bad up in the rev range and very responsive So plans for now include Blue s…

I'm kinda new to here been lurking a bit tho but anyway here is my rolla i picked up today its a 1977 ke30 with 3k and auto the body is in really good condition with the exeption of the rear passenger door that has a big dent and the drivers guard has a small patch of rust (only rust i have found in the car) plus a few little dents as is to be expected the interior is in near overrated condition which i havnt found a fault yet seats and door trims are not ripped and vinyl not coming apart or faded now for the plans: i want to keep it as original looking as possible with just a respray, lower it but keep it legal and sit it on a set of 14 inch steel rims off a coro…

82 ke70 life story: it cost me 2 cartons of beer and was sitting in a padoc for a year, it was previously used as a bush basher but they obviosuly didnt give it a reall hard time, it still had a radator full of fluid and sump full of oil. got it going for a while but the fule pump was rooted and the tank was full of rust anyway, so we found a mitsubishi magna with a in tank pump and straped the tank in the boot and hooked up the lines. then the next drama, the roof was wobbling like shit, so we put some strapping over top which didnt help. so in the end we just screwed the roof to the roll cage. the roof supports iscracked in places and still makes a *** loud ra…

okay lads, seeing as ive got some spare time on my hands i thought i would post up my latest project. it is a track only te72 (t-18 for those of you playing at home). its stock as a rock, body is relatively tidy with only some minor rust around the hatch seal and a bit of bog they had fallen out of the front guard from a previous repair. never mind though as i have a spare pair of front guards and a heap of other spares that came with the car. guards will get flared anyway so thats not an issue. the 3t and box are in overrated condition and are from a S2 (a few years younger). my plans are to turbo the 3t as they are a very tough motor and respond well to…

I've been meaning to put this up for months (since Australia Day) I had a BBQ at mine for Aus Day/JJJ hottest 100. Imagine; Snags, nice sunny day, 14m water slide and some cold drinks straight from a ke70 Rolla Esky! I started with a wreck I got for nix a few years back, cut it in half... I then Grabbed a diff from a ke30 and welded it directly to the Chassis rails, got rid of the bump stops, no need for them. Painted it in Australian colours (can job + 20mins = dodgey job) but on strict time schedule. Filled it out with 140mm thick Industrial insulation used in cool rooms, and a Stainless steel floor. Covered all the sharps with rubbe…

Well, I picked this up a few weeks back for $1900 and only just took pictures of it. It's my first car so I'm hoping to first, learn to drive and get my license of course, then get some experience with driving and working on cars, then get it driftable. As of now it's got an exhaust system with a horrible oval tip I'll be getting rid of, it's got extractors and some king springs. I pick up a webber for it in a week or so too. It's got some 'Champion' mags or something on it, they'll be going when I find something better but it's not urgent right now. Never realised it had such a small engine and right now it doesn't idle. I think it's the fuel solenoid now but I…

Hi guys, Just thought I'd Introduce myself as I have always been trawling through this site and have recently aquired a ke55 sedan. My name is Alex and I live in the modbury area in SA. I am a DIY backyard mechanic and Electronics Technitian/Engineer by trade. My pride and joy is my 1986 AE82 Twincam Corolla. I bought it years ago and slowly fell in love with the beast. The nimble response and go-kart feel has always put a smile on my face when I hop in the car. Especially after driving my missisus honda so called sports car! Anyway, It all started with little things untill the motor blew a rear main seal and my mechanic wanted to charge me an arm and a leg to fix…

My little KE20 has a bit of a story with me. I swapped a VR Commodore for her back in mid 2010, and immediately fell in love with her, but she had a hard life before I got her. The bloke I got it from had spray painted it dark blue with the bonnet spray painted black, endless amounts of bog, and it had mis-matched stud patterns. My original plans were to spray her matte black and put on some spotties, along with the little mudflaps on chains I'd already put on, and make it a little rally spec daily kinda thing as I live on dirt roads. But after owning it for a bit, and bumping into a tree at some point and damaging the front passenger quarter, I lost interest, and sol…

Just picked this old girl up from its original owner, I saw it forsale on a facebook buy swap sell group and it screamed "BUY ME", I had been eyeing it off for years going around town. it has 177000km on the clock, very minor rust in the rear arches, a small hit to the rear and thin paint on the bonnet otherwise the interior is perfect and the paint apart from the bonnet will come up very good with a wax. Even the dash pad is great (this is rare out here in the country as the horrible summers get to it. The little 4k needs a rocker cover gasket and maybe o rings on the spark plug tubes but otherwise the engine is going to stay 100% stock. the rest of the car is go…

this is not a build thread just a place for some pics and info on my daily. picked this up off Andy after i pranged the yellow 70 JDM Te70 Sprinter that must have been imported at some stage differs to local 70's big time Its a TE70 Sprinter 1.8 XL with a 13T-U engine, T50 gearbox and T series drum brake diff. It was factory fitted with a T40 and and an S diff, but someone went to some effort as the car has that upgraded driveline, proper flared rear guards and has recieved a respray at some stage. still has steering box like a T18 but its fine for daily use You can notice that the front end is different (lights and bumpers), along with the C Pillars a…

Hello all, Yeah this is my 1st time (and I may be in the wrong area as usual)... I'm happy to say that I own the good old KE70 stocky along side is the AE80 stocky, but here is my dilemma:- The KE70 has been off the road for over 5 years and slowly rotting away in my yard, I would love to get it going again but I’m lacking the money. The old girl has a loud knocking every revolution (eheh, revelation, the hell?), my guess is it’s the toque converter, it has to be loose. She also suffers from the case of rust, firm the undercoat to the muffler, so that needs a little fixing. I got her for nothing, she was given to me. My current project though is my new c…

hey all this is my ke70, ive had it for a while now and is being slowly built, I'm putting a 4a-ge in it once i get the cash, i woludnt mind putting a 4a-gze in it but due to the new P laws i wouldnt be able to drive it. its been primed, lowered all around with super low king springs just tidyied the 4K got twin lynx carbys to whack on her for now, and has a cadence sound system, and i tidyied the interior. my other plans for it soon is to get a mettallic silver paintjob with a gloss black hood some meshies or wantanbe rims, my 4a-ge of course, extractors and and an exhaust system. a big thankyou to corolla andy for all the ke70 parts i have purchased of him through out …

Hiya fellow rollaclubbers! I've had a passion for ke30's for almost 20 years now, and thought I'd post up my slow going project!😂😂 I acquired this old girl 5 years ago, after being on chassis stands for that time, it's finally rolling again! So, the aim for this old girl, recycle and reuse the various shit loads of parts I have in my possession, and keep the build cost to an absolute minimum! This isn't going to be any show winning car, just a tidy driver! Story so far, All freshly painted underneath, engine bay! All new suspension bushes, shocks, springs, wheel bearings, running a 4.3 Borg Warner diff up back! That's it for no…

Hellooooo, I've been browsing this forum for a while now, from since when I started to get into Toyotas, which was when I first got my licence. how I first got it: 84 ae81 1.3 stroked to 1.5 weber 32/36 extractors cam What got me into Corollas was one of my older mates had one, and he had done it up and it was ʞ©$ɟing beautiful and blah blah blah got into an accident and wrote it off, but I still wanted one, pretty much exactly the same but with my own personal additives. Before my corolla, I was driving a Landcruiser 84 Model ʞ©$ɟing troop carrier fuel eater. It had its pros and cons, but it wasn't what I wanted, on another note, bought it for 2500, spe…

Hi guys, I'm a new owner of a pretty old rolla. It's a 1983 KE70 Corolla wagon CS. Just wondering if there's a site with a little more detail about this car, or if anyone else has one that they've done some work too. I'm basically keeping it as a second car, and am keen to take it on little trips etc, as I see that as the advantage of having a wagon ;) Also, does anyone know what size speakers fit in these cars? Maybe 4 or 6 inch in the front, and the rear speaker holes look pretty big- maybe 6 x 9, but I haven't had a good look. There's currently no speakers or system in the car at all, so I'm keen to buy a little system for it. Let me know what you think. The c…

hey people heres sum pics of my rolla...stock 4k-c motor :y: but still a fun reliable car...I'm getn my bros car next w/e same thing but with a better body...ive painted the front & rear bars as well as the bonnet scoop beige to match the car, TRD vinyl on the bonnet thanks to a mate in the sign-writing industry  14" x 6" speedy wheels on her, had 13"x 6" cheviots, if anyone wants them let me no. inside ive re-done the dash in silver and gold, autotecnica woodgrain wheel, grey door trims, black seat covers, retrimmed the parcel shelf (+ a put a toyota badge in the middle of the speakers...looks sick) and a pair of 10"ers in the boot to help keep the tunes p…

Just bought recently (few days ago) a 1986 Twin Cam, Originally 4 days ago, I did not plan to buy another car, however a friend offered to buy my AE82 Sedan, and then an ad for the Twin Cam popped up on Gumtree, then I changed my mind, why not? :P Bought it for $1,600 with RWC inc from a nice old guy, originally I was a bit exceptional as the Twin cam was in pretty much perfect condition 0 Rust as well, and done only 130,000 KM's.., after I test drove it, it went very well, and engine was very responsive. Everything was bone stock including the radio even, everything works. However the radio's new home is the bin soon :P Even has all logbooks dating back to 19…

Picked this up today, needed a car in reserve for when I find a new job and give up my company car - perhaps this will motivate me to really start looking because my job is utter bollocks. Mega downgrade haha, but I'm broke (new mortgage) and 70's are cheap to fix and familiar. Has a Towbar which will come in handy too. Its borderline for fixing....but I might use it to teach myself panel work and rust repairs if I can be arsed, shell is pretty good for a 70. As you can see though, front damage will need to be fixed, and a huge section of bog from a previous repair is about to fall off the back door! Funny. No rust around fuel door and only one little bit in the boo…

Ok, so miracles do happen and I've acually picked up tools and worked on a car :o Since I bent the last one a little, I figured I'd build one properly in an attempt to actually finish a car for once. So it's been sitting in the yard getting rustier and moldy while I collected parts (plus tools) and got a rough plan of things to do. Started with this on Thursday last week Hit it with some hammers and drank a little alcohol and it changed colour a bit. This is more or less how it sits now. Overspray ʞ©$ɟing EVERYWHERE, but it's red, and that's what matters. Next, an attempt at rego. Yes Ryan, it's getting THAT engine. And finall…

Howdy guys I thought i'd post a bit of information on my rolla. She's beautiful! I bought her from an older guy who's been racing for about 15 years. He used to race a datto 1600, sold it and then built this to replace it. It came with a build-up logbook with photo's, part numbers and all the specifications. Its running a 5k engine that has: - +.020 thou. cast hypotec pistons - king competition big end and main bearings - 308' wade camshaft - Precision solid lifters - Roll master dual timing chain - extended capacity sump with windage tray - lightened flywheel - Excedy sports clutch - 3k bigport head with modified ports and bowls - 38mm inle…

On tuesday I bought myself a gold XX ke70 for under a grand, interior was quite immaculate, but has problems with the engine running too hot, possibly head gasket or head, and some fairly big rust holes down under the boot. Other then that, I was very satisfied, even the dash is almost perfect! one little crack. Plan is to build it up, to an immaculate streeter, with a bit of a JDM feel, chrome bars, quad lights, carby 4age further down the track. I know a thread is useless with out pics, but camera was dead, so this is all I have at the moment. More photos to come of rust damage when my camera is working.
