http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TOYOTA-MOTOR-4AGZE-...=item27b2663045 I found that motor on e-bay but its 'spun a big end bearing'. I'm wondering if its worth it to buy it, then rebuild it completely (stock), as i can't really afford to buy performance stuff, although it would be worth it, but something i can do later on. Its pretty cheap at the moment but i'd have to take a roadtrip down to NSW (12 hrs). The plan is to put it in my ke-70. I'm wondering if its worth the money to buy it and fix it up or just to buy a working 4age. I don't plan to put the 4age in til tax comes, so no pressure on time (unless it's going to take more than 2 months)

greetings rollings... well after being sick of the constant humming noise coming from the rear end of my little yella beast, i got new wheel bearings put in it. its now a quiet little car at 100 clicks. its got a pea shooter exhaust on it, so the only noise is the sucking of the weber and humming of extractors from the engine bay. its tops, you can actually talk to people at normal volume! I'm surprised how little road noise the little car has, i'm cheering... Anywhoo, thought i would share. Cheers, dyzza

Hi all, I am having great difficulty getting a pair of kits to suit my new carbies. I keep getting asked 'what vehicle where they released on?' How the phuk would I know!! The carbies are Aisan and numbered 24060 & 24070, they are Toyota supplied and I think are on the original K series manifold. Can anyone tell me the Make, Model and year of the vehicle this was originally released on?? I suspect it is a 'Japan only' model? EDIT: ignore the filters they are not original.

Got a remote fuel cap and boot release setup that i've put into my CS ke70. Got the cables run to the back, just wanted to get a picture of how the little mechanism's are supposed to properly hook up to the fuel cap and boot release - don't really need any of the wire, just the actual mechanism! Thanks in advance! :jamie:

Hey guys, After much stuffing around and alot of fallen through ECU purchases because most people who advertise shit don't bother responding or putting the correct contact information up, I have finally got the car to fire up and actually hold rpm. Unfortunately It's not holding idle speed. A few things come to mind, throttle gap on the butterfly, air idle bypass screw, injector opening time. So, what gap should I set on the butterfly? Should I set the idle air screw halfway and go from there? another issue that I thought I had down pat was fueling. Apparently not. I have 290cc Injectors from a 7MGE (yellow injectors) and was assunimg an idle opening time of 4ms wo…

Hi All, when I bought my second 4k quite some time ago as well as the complete motor the guy I bought it off gave me a cam with iot that has already been ground. now on the end of the cam the code " T121 " has been manually ground into it, does anyone know what grind this may be. the guy I bought it off was from west Auckland in NZ. I was just hoping maybe someone knew so I don't have to pay $100 to get it camdoctored just to find out what the grind is. I need to know because I need to find out whether I will need to upgrade the bvalve springs or not.

hi, just replaced another 4ac, it has a rattle in the head which i belive most probaly is just tappets. i have a reground cam that I'm planning to put in at the same time as i replace the old timing belt (kill 3 birds with one stone). the cam has 290 degrees of duration and extra lift on the exhaust valves and about the same on the intake. i fitted it to an old head to look at the difference in lift. questions: -how do i know if the valve springs bind or what can i do to prevent them from doing so? will the std springs be fine? how likely is it for them to bind without wild amounts of lift although there is noticeably more on the exhaust side than std. …

Hey guys I'm thinking of getting my cam reground seen as I have rego out of the way. Who in Brisbane regrinds cams? What duration and lift do you suggest? I'm looking for something that will give me some grunt but isnt such a bitch that I can't drive it on the streets. Mind you a big lopey idle at the lights with a nice exhaust is awesome :ninja:

talk about a million ways to do one thing! seems like there is multiple methods of getting neg camber, what does everyone think of them: this is in relation to ke corollas: (ke20 to ke55) but generally applies to most cars. strut: camber strut plates camber / caster strut plates drill strut top different struts bend struts control arms: longer control arms from another car use 2 original arms and weld longer rose jointed control arms re drill crossmember eccentric bush kits other: neg camber RCA's pull strut tops in with strut brace (lol...) replace strut and control arm setup from another car that suits i suppose one major issue is…

Hey guys, firstly l'm new to this forum, and was hoping that l might be able to get some tech advice on different corolla front suspension setups, mostly in relation to camber plates/top mount etc. I have actually started up a small business on the side (www.elitepros.com), and one of the things l do is sell camber plates for datto's (l have a few dattos myself, and thus decided l didn't want to pay extraordinary prices for camber plates). During making them l have sold quite a few to datto guys, and have been requested by toyota guys (TA22,TA23 celica etc) to make them fit too. So l now have a PCD top plate that fits TA22, but also corolla (seems to be KE30-KE55). …

i have a cam for my 4ac, i got it a while back but I'm a little unsure what its like as i havnt had that much to do with single cam motors. i have not yet put it in (was waiting for a bigger carb so it would make a driffrence). the guy who i brought it from siad it was 290degree with an extra .6mm or .8mm of lift, its rated between 3500-7500. is this considered a big cam..? i know this is about the biggest you would want to go with a 4ag in a street car. i did a seach on you tube but i found conflicting clips with claimed 282degree cams, i sounded stock on idel and the other ideled like a stock one with the choke on. also because it has extra lift does that mean t…

After seeing many unknown camshaft profiles for sale lately I have been pondering on how to actually measure the camshaft. So I decided to try to make up a contraption and see how I go. After finding bits and pieces around the workshop I slaped them together to make this: So I gave it a quick measure and came up with these interesting specs: Exhaust Spec Camshaft duration at .005" lift =220 degrees Total Lobe lift = .224" That duration just did not look right what so ever so I checked and double checked. Went on the net to see if I could find anything out and I came accross an article that stated that alot of companies over exagerate thier…

Hey guys, just wondering whether anyone knows what car this radiator is from? Reason is, that my car has had a 4age conversion and a larger radiator installed, complete with custom mounts welded in. For simplicity reasons i would like to identify it in order to get a new one (old one is leaky). Here are some pics. I can take more if needed! The text is hardly legible but from what we can see it says: TOYOTA 1522 1221_ _ _ (can't read the rest) Thank you very much! Lease.
