is there any difference between the s/c and twinky brakes ie: caliper disc removal? i was wondering if they were the same are they like the rears (from the twinky rears i used) that just slide off once the caliper is off. as i have not played with my fronts except the rears when i changed them over. any help would be great cheers 4ages

Hi, Just in need of informatoin on how to match valve springs to a motor. I have a set of dual valve springs off a 4K head to suit a K motor but I have been suggested by a person to not run dual valve springs as it is over kill etc. So I know there would be a way out the how to calculate amount of valve pressure you would need when it is fully open and also seated shut. So can anyone enlighten us on how to match valve springs to a motor and what to do? As I don't want to kill cam lobes or break parts of the motor from having to hard valve springs for the motor. Cheers Cameron

Hi, I have a 3K bigport head sitting on my desk at home that I want to give a rebuild so new guides, acid clean, skim, polish, port etc. But I was curious what is the best way to remove valve guids from a head? What temp should I heat it up to if I need to heat it up and do corolla ones get pushed down out of the head or up out of the head towards where the rockers would be? Cheers Cameron

  8. I pulled apart a JDM caliper to paint and kept the other assembled as a reference. On closer inspection, the reference was missing this clip so I can't figure out where it goes and what it's purpose is. Hopefully someone knows.. Is it redundant to keeping the pads secured or am I going to need a rebuild kit?

Hey all, we just took a diff out of a KE70 and I was under the impression it was an S series as that is what I was told. But I would just like to know how to identify an S series vs a T series diff? No doubt theres some easy/obvious differences. Pics may help, but whatever. Cheers!

Hey guys, have been putting my new JDM ae86 brake setup into my ke70 and all was going well until i went to bleed the brakes. Tried undoing the bleeder valve on one of the calipers, it was pretty tight, then it just snapped off, leaving the thread still in the caliper (where it screws in). Tried WD40 on the next one, but this seemed to soften it more and it snapped too :P I'm guessing they'd been sitting around in japan for a while and siezed or something....So, I'm now stuck with a brake system full of air that i can't bleed from the front. So, what I'm after are either some othe options to bleed it (can i do it from the rear? - t-18 rear end), or an option to get whats …

morning fellas i have just sold one of my 3t's and it gives me some money to play with building another 3t. I'm after some pointers at it is going to be a fairly budget build, nothing dodgy just clean and cheap. the motor will have to handel around 12psi of boost at the max the idea will be just rings bearings and gaskets, a new cam will be ground while its apart and i need some help choosing that as i know nothing about choosing a turbo cam, the engine will be build for a daily driver, drifter and most likely some drags. some of the bolt on things will be a ct20 on a 3tgte manifold and a 32/36 weber jetted to suit a turbo application(brad sheriff of boost a…

I can't really find a HEAP of information about KE55's over the internet, which sucks. Just wondering how much they initially weigh, how many of them were produced, Wether or not if they are rare or common. By the looks of it I see a fair few of them on this site, so they seem kind of common. Though I'm pretty sure most of them come with the little metal badge on the back left hand side of there boot, it says TRD etc? Toyota Racing Development. So I am just wondering if anyone can give me pretty good information about my KE55 Hardtop. Thanks,

The back right window in my ae82 corolla doesn't wind up or down tith the windo winder thing, there is a big scratch out of the tinting, so i decided to take the door trim off to fix it. i don't care if the window has to be permanently shut because it is currently about 5 centimetres open and i can pull it up but then it falls back down if i hit a bump or something. Is there a way to remove the door trim so when it goes back on it will still be flush and wont look like it has been ripped off ( i have removed the screw in the door opener and 2 other screws in the door handle thing.) i think i have to take the window winder off aswell? thanks, Mark

I have been building an engine for my sons first car (KE20) so far I have balanced the 4K bottom end, 3k big port head, factory twin carbies, extractors and a 2 inch sports exhaust, with a 5 speed, the car will be spending a lot of time on the highway so 2500rpm upwards will be the starting point and hopefully it wont be going past 7000rpm to often, but boys being boys he'll give it his best shot, but does anyone out there have any good ideas of what profile to use of where to find out. :D :) :) :hmm: :hmm: :hmm:

Now I know sigma ones are the right bearing size but I can only find the thick sigma A/C pulleys so they wont quit fit (yes thin sigma ones fit but I can't find one) So on ebay tonight I saw this: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Air-Conditioning-Co...1QQcmdZViewItem Looks like it will fit like a glove. Now since it is a experiment I was curious to see if some one has one in my area I can loan or post to me or if some one can measure the ID of the bearing on the pulley and the thickness of the clutch face and the thickness at the thickest part?
