  1. Hi guys, I am in that mental debate situation for my 5K I'm building. Trying to work out if I want Dizzy Regraph, Jaycar Prog Ignition or perhaps the Megajolt ignition V4 Read up about the Megajolt, but I can't seem to find many people in Aus using it, and I reckon that may be due to the lack of access to the Ford EDIS gear you need to run it. Anyone out there used it? Tom.

Hi guys, I have a mystery cam I bought of kangaroosa. Its had a grind, but no idea what it is. Before I run it I want to check the lift etc. If anyone has a stock cam and a stock set of rocker posts lying around, I was after the following measurements: Root diameter of both inlet and exhaust cam lobes Overall height (from face to face) of the rocker posts. Cheers tom.

Gaday, i'm wanting to know what injection manifolds are availiable to fit a 4K. Me and my mate are planning on trying to make a gas injection setup for our rally car, and since his dad is a gas fitter he can do this quite easily but we don't want to make our own manifold, and i'm wondering if maybe a 7k one would bolt onto a 4k head and if it does what cars did they come on. cheers

Hello all, I am currently rebuilding a pair of DHLA40 carburetors for my new engine and I came across a problem which I thought I'd throw up on here to see if anyone knows the answer. One of the carbs has at some stage in it's previous life had the butterflies removed and when I bought them (ebay) the brass screws that hold them in place were missing. Now, I've been searching in town for replacement ones however I can only find people who can order in Weber items, not Dellorto. My question is, are the screws that hold the butterflies to the shaft in a DCOE weber the same/interchangeable with DHLA carbs? I don't have access to a DCOE carb, so I can't compare myself. …

I went to get my Ke55 stuts converted into coilovers today, and the guy at the suspension place sugested that use AE86 struts instead, he said that he can use better shocks into it and you get the added bonus of bigger brakes. Now that all sounds sweet to me, but i did not know that this was possible. he insures me that it all bolts up. Has any used this combo into a Ke55? And what if any problems did you have? Thanks

hey everyone. i'm not sure if this is the right section so mods move as required ( but i think i got it right) my mum just blew up her mx5  , i know its not a rolla but you guys are all pretty car learned so i was hoping you all could help, underneath a wollies car park. she managed to get it home but its was running quite bad. we think it may be a blown head gasket though can't be sure, what is a way to check?? basically it is blowing copious amounts of white smoke out the rear and a small bit either out of the head or exhaust. she wont idle and is hard to start. the injectors where cleaned the other week, could this have caused some sort of other problem?…

I got a T-18 I am doing up, and something i have come across lately, and something that opitimises the style I am looking at, is the concept of "Modifications that look Stock" I want to know what people consider as performance modifications that look stock... Anything you think will improve the handling, comfort or overall appeal of the car while giving the impression that "hey, it could/should have come from the factory like that..." Anything from rims, exhaust, engine conversions, suspension, seats and interior mods... anything goes... I want to hear thoughts on every aspect. Looking forward to all your ideas.

Hello guys, sorry for the noob question. Ain't a car expert here. i Juz got a AE93 7AFE corolla which has a shaky rear view mirror. i believe its screwed on to the top. Anyone knows of any parts similar to the original at maybe supercheap auto ? if possible i want to seek for the exact replacement not those paste on the windscreen types. Also can this take the "powered" side mirror mods?

  20. Hey guys, I noticed a post a few days back where someone advised against Ramflo air filters. I figured that the element itself is the problem? Anyway after measuring up my engine bay, I reckon Ramflos with the offset will be the easiest fit for my twin DHLAs, but I wanted to see what people think? If the elements in them are crap, I figured I will just by the Unifilter replacement items to go in there? Cheers tom.

My K-50 had been making a whining bearing noise in 1st,2nd,3rd and 5th gear so my mechanic said come in and i will teach you to pull it apart. We thought it was just a dead bearing but when we pulled the countershaft, which is the shaft that runs parallel to the output shaft in the gearbox and where the bearing operates for the gears on the shaft and it has deteriorated creating the whining noise. Has anyone else come across this? Is it common problem? Here are some images of the shaft out of the gearbox and an image from my Toyota chassis manual, only in the manual it doesn’t have the section of bearing steel in which the bearing runs on in my gearbox. Any advice or anyo…

Please have a look through and offer opinions on pricing, where I might save cash and if there are things I have missed (Camshaft for example isn't there) Prognosis is: Block needs a rebore. Here is the list of stuff he gave me: Block work: - $120 to Rebore to any size (probably 60 thou over because I can) - $40 to deck the block - $50 to remove camshaft bearings and hot-bath the block to clean it up - $40 for new cam bearings - $250 for new pistons and rings, size to suit bore etc. Block work total: $500 - ~$300 for the Head work inclu…

Don't know if this is going to be relevant here so I will post it and you can all let me know. On the weekend I rejetted my carbs on my motorbike and they needed to be sync'ed afterwards. Thanks to the magic of the internet I was able to find a site that told me how to make a homemade manometer (to my surprise it doesn't measure manliness) that measures the vacuum between each carb. Was a bit fiddly but once you got the hang of it really easy. Also saved buying a carb sync tool. All up cost $5 to rig the thing up. Anyway I thought i would post up the link used in case anyone here running twin carbs on their cars would need to do the same thing. http://faq.ninja25…
