I am about to start striping the interior of my AE71 and was wondering according to the law how much interior trim can be taken out before the car is deemed illegal or unsafe. I will probably be taking out the rear seats, centre console and all interior carpet.

Hello everyone. Just wondering what swaps people have done with putting different seats into their xE7xs'. Ill start us off by saying that with a single rail swap and a flare of one bolt hole the RA40 seat from my parts car bolted in really nicely. The bum was a bit lower than the ae71 seat. Would definitely suit a Person 6 foot 4 or so. A little low for me at 6 feet tall though. Looking for ideas about seats from other cars more so than after market stuff, but please post if there was a particularly elegant install of an after market unit that you did and how. Thanks in advance, Matt.

Hi, While I'm fixing my 5K I had a thought today while the sump is off I will shim the oil pump spring to get more oil pressure. So I was wondering what is the best size shim to use as I don't want to much as above 90 PSI it will strip the soft metal off the bearings (I forget the metals name right now) and I don't wanna add just 5PSI as that is well better but worthless at the same time. So has anyone shimmed an oil pump and measured the oil pressure? I would like exact pressure numbers to shim size so I can see what would be best. Cheers Cameron

Hi guys, Looking for your expert advice/help. I have recently installed a Blue top into my honda s600 for hillclimb work. The engine itself is producing 68kw ATW with peak power at 6250RPM. I am happy with the power ( std ECU) but with my gearing a few more revs would help out ( mid corners). The engine runs out of Revs at 6700RPM (seems a little low). I am not running any O2 sensor - Would this cause the problem? I have a surge tank and am running 2* EFI pumps (external). As mentioned it is std ECU. I am running 5/16 fuel line to engine and 1/4 back to the fuel tank. Home made extractors ( limited space) are 4-1. Your help is much appreciated.

How restrictive is the standard inlet system on 4A-C's. From looking at it it seems quite restrictive as it has two sharp bends in it. What are some alternative inlet systems that are still road legal, as in not pod filters.

Has any one sucessfully supergharged a 4A-C. I was just curious as I am interested in seeing any resenable performance gians. I think supergharging is a great alternative to stand out of the crowd. I am also interested in 4A-C tuning as it seems not many people are into tuning them, they usually just drop in a 4A-GE.

  16. Hi all, I am putting an sc12 on my 5k, running it through a 4k efi setup. I have already done a search on here, and elsewhere and have found a lot of interesting material but am always after more. What I am looking for are pictures of this kind of setup or similar, specifically how the supercharger is mounted (in as much detail as possible), as we have only an idea as to how to go about doing it. Are all sc12s shaped the same way, with the inlet on the dipstick side and the outlet facing away from the pulley? How did everyone get around this? Also interested in what ecu I should use and also where I should get it from, and maybe a heads-up on any other tro…

Hi, I recently bought a KE15 sprinter and the original owner removed the twin asians as he felt the car would run away on him as he was old so he made the car more used friendly..lol I want to now put the twin asians back on as I'm restoring the car. But I am not sure I have 100% of the linkages or the knowledge to bend twist and run the cables etc to put them on. So I was wondering is it possible if I could get photos of KE15 sprinter engine bays please to assist me in the linkage install? I al also curious as to how the 3K-B water heated manifold was linked up. I know water went in the back of the manifold in that pipe from the back of the head but then it e…

  23. Hi, After spending most of the day cleaning and fixing my carby on the new sprinter one of the carbies (original asian) had been disassembled. So spent all day getting it micky mouse clean as a whistle. Just then tonight about to put the needle and seat in the lid of the carby ice burgs hit. The needle and seat had fallen out and been lost in the 3 boxes of parts I was given with the car. These were a mess all I was able to find after 40yrs of these boxes sitting there was the small spring and that was it for the needle and seat. So all I was missing was the little straight rod that goes in the end of the needle and holds the spring in and touches the float. S…

Hi, This morning mucking around with my Toyota EPC to further work out how to set up my 3K-B carbies properly I stumbled over this FIND. OIL COOLERS for a K motor FACTORY :jamie: Couldn't believe it. So I got a copy of the EPC screens for you all to see so you don't think I'm nuts. And for those of you at home this was found using the general CD's out of the epc. Below are the screen shots. But there is one small problem with these oil coolers. It seems Toyota has no part number for it  So could make sourcing one hard. Cheers Cameron

  26. Hey guys! Some know about my plan to graft a 2T-G into a Ke-35 Coupe ... I have been looking for carbies and manifold to suit. I have discovered a neat little twin carb manifold and twin carbies (they look like side draught with a sliding sleeve device?) off a toyota Corsa. It would seem to be from a 3E motor. I have not been able to glean any more info than that, except that they came off a 1500cc or 1800cc SOHC motor from a jdm corsa. I am wondering if; A) The whole manifold will fit B ) If not A then will the carbies function for my application? Re-Jetting and other standard-type mods are acceptable. Thanks for your, most precious, time!

As in factory how did they do it as the top holes are a lot bigger than the pins but the bottom hole has like a rubber goo in it that makes the fit tight so just curious how people have put these in? hi everyone, I just bought some new front shocks for my ae71 wagon. Now it seemed like a pretty straightforward task to change them. Ihave managed to get the entire strut out of the car, so the spring is out and brake lines disconnected and such. I can't seem to get the old insert out of the strut. Does anyone have any tips or advice to get the old one out? I have unscrewed the top thing which holds it in by the way, so i think ithe shock is jammed in there. I'm thinking of a hammer and putting it in the vice once all the oil is drained out, there must be an easier way. thanks adan

  39. Hi, Is there any difference between KE30, 35, 36, 38 in the suspension front end design? Especially regarding front sway bars. Whiteline list BTF17 (20mm) for sedan and coupe, but a different part BTF6 (16mm) for wagon and van. Incedentally BTF6 is the same as listed for KE2# sedan and coupe. http://www.whiteline.com.au/docs/catalogues/WL_0323.pdf Why do you think they've done this?

Hi guys. The speedway team I'm with has purchased a Junior. We haven't raced it yet. Over the last couple of outings for this car it's spun so many times it's a bit of a joke. Well the laughter is coming from a corner nearby as I have to sort it. With the car up high and the wheels sitting on blocks I saw the problem straight away. The leaf springs aren't set right. To get tilt in the car they've put a straighter leaf set in the left rear. With weight on the LR leaf set is actually bending the opposite way to what it should be doing. The right side leaf set has about a 1/2" curve through out. Not much suspension allowed here. Is this a 'normal set up' on one of these cars…
