Me and a friend recently bought a 4 door KE70. have been reading this forum and its fkn awesome, probably the most informative car forum on the net to date. :) well anyways down to buisness. The Car is in pretty good condition, and today we decided to give it a service. changed battery, most fluids, filters, battery and so on.. white smoke has been emitting from where the sparkplugs go in, like enough to make concern. we suspect that its either: -worn sparkplugs -head gasket about to depart -engine running too lean (checked carby and its set ok) -or that the engine is simply getting old, and a possibility of oil mixing with petrol and burning off whitish smok…

I am turboing my 20 valve and am at this stage looking at a Stainless manifold and a brand new t3/t4 turbo kit including intercooler piping waste gate everything i need but i am not to sure if the t3/t4 will be to big or not if it will be is there anyother better suited turbo out there please note i am only going to run around 6-8psi. I have a microtech and stuff so that is not the prob. Will be drifting lapsprinting and in the motokhana. Cheers guys

I've found a rotor for an RX-7 4 piston brake upgrade that's an exact fit to an AE86 hub. The thing is, an AE86 has a 64mm ID hole with a 45 degree chamfer on the edge, the rotor in question has an 80mm ID hole and a chamfer too. I wonder if this is done on other cars? I wonder if this sort of thing increases the chance of failure...

Hay guys just wanted to know if anyone has put any speakers into there Ke70 wagon?? Cause there really isnt really were that i can find to put them!! The door trims have them plastic little pockets on the bottem of them an i also tryed to put them in the tail gate but the dam windscreen wiper motor is in the way! :P The speakers that iv got to fit are 6/9's an 7 inch splits any help would be great thanks Steve

Gaday, I was wondering if it is possible to put the four-spoke Celica/Hiace wheels on a Ke30. I have some and have tried to put them on my car, but they hit on the brake caliper. I had given up, but I was looking on rollaclub and found a few ke's with them on, so I'm wondering if it is possible. cheers

Hay guys i was just wanting to know what model falcon springs ya put in KE70? an how many coils I have to cut off to get the car down about 1 an half/ 2 inchers? Also correct me if I'm rong but by cuttin springs dosnt that defeat the purpose of trying to make to car handle?

Hay guys the nuts thing happened to me today!! i finally got off my fat ass and put a motor in my 70 wagon!! Anyways got it all in there an running pretty easy only took about 5 hours to do complete change over!! once it was running for about 5 mins i turned it off started packing up my tools to notice that there was smoke pouring out of the engine!! HOLLY f@$k!! I thought as i ran to see that the positive going from the batt to the starter was melting an every other wire around it!! There was so much smoke my hole shed duched in like seconds!! I couldn't get the positive clamp off the batt cause i did it up so i had to cut the positive wire with some plyers!! Ill try to…

Hey all, just trying to organise some rear shocks for my ae71 4age sedan & wondering if any one would be able to tell us which model suzuki sierra front shocks to ask for while ordering?? Also wondering, i know the strut insert diameter for the ae86's are 51mm & ke70's are 43mm and the ae71's are the same as ke70's aren't they??? cheers tom

called industrial springs today they quoted me 300 bucks and about 2 months waiting for a pair of custom fronts, any ideas on where else i can get custom springs? maybe even stiffer springs from another car thatll wack in? cheers

Hi, I am searching around now for 3F lifters to place into my 5K at home. I went to super cheap they had a quick look in the parts cataloge and couldn't find them. So I am wondering does anyone know a place I can get 3F motor lifters cheap? Also what are they worth new? Or is it cheaper to get used ones and reface them? Cheers Cameron

Well the question as the title says is very easy, i have a KE70 with the stock (ugly) cluster, and i want a tacho in the cluster but here in uruguay, no tacho cluster :) , so let the mods begin one cluster that i have in mind is the AE92 cluster because is easy and cheap to find here. Conectionwise will it be difficult to conect??? how about the speddo read??? BTW i don't know if this goes here

What are peoples thoughts on aftermarket cams in a 20V? It seems the biggest size one can go while retaining VVT is 264. Just trying to get a few opinions as to either get 264cams and keep VVT or scrap vvt and go larger? Cheers

hey, been driving along for a while, fairly problem free. it starts missing badly, just cruzing along then it just misses like a bastard i have put heaps of fuel cleaner shit on the fuel, mixed it strong, held a few revs on it. its had new plugs and dizzy cap recently and i ave swapped a few spare leads around. it dosent do it all the time but when it does it does badly, it has an exhaust leak which I'm getting a gasket for but i dought it could make it miss like this

Hi, I'm new to this site =D Looks very informative. I just recently bought a KE70. Its done about 290,000kms. 4 speed. The problem i have is.. It doesn't want to do skidz yo! In the wet.. Its great.. But in the dry it just wont slide lol.. Its got a Locker and all.. But it just doesn't kick out no matter what.. I don't know the greatest amount about these cars.. But ive been getting suggestions from people about more power.. 4ac.. 4Age.. Etc.. But as i said i don't know a hole lot about putting them in, i know there is alot of guides out there.. hey I have a ke70 S model which has the clock instead of the tacho I want to buy a ke70 Instrumental cluster with the tacho but I'm not sure if i it will plug straight in and work or i have to run a lead to the ignition coil.

Hi Everyone I have 2 ke 55 5 speed gearboxs with stripped countershaft gears I would like to rebuild. I had a look in FAQ and it seems KE55 & KE70 5 speeds have the same gear ratios. does anyone Know if a KE70 Countershaft is the same as KE55.? Maybe someone has a parts book out there. Thanks Darren

Hi, Today I picked up a clean set of outer KE20 front suspension tubes that has the stub axle weld to it and the front spring retainer weld to the other end. Now the reason for doing this is I have a KE15 I want to put KE70 disc on BUT I don't want to drill and tap the backing plate of the KE15 stub axles as if I want to do a full original resto I can back track and use the smaller bolts. Now The stub axle is weld to the bottom of the suspension tube so what I need to do is see if the tube will fit onto the KE1X setup with no mods eg will it all bolt together? Also the front suspension on a KE1X/2X didn't use an insert so they all come apart and have a int…

Yesterday driving arround my town i found an old toyota hilux practicaly destroyed, but it has the front (ifs) and rear (solid) axles there, a closer look revealed that the front discs where vented with two pistons and the rear diff was much bigger. the engine wasnt there but i think that used to be a 2.4 diesel in there, because the rear axle was big but no so big as the diff on the 4Runner now in to the questions: Can the discs and the rear axle suit the corolla? how hard will it be?

AE71 - I have a knock in my steering rack. inner and outer tie-rod ends have been replaced, as well as rack ends. Does anyone know whether the steering rack has internal bushes or not? I can't seem to get a straight answer via my (usually successful) searches. cheers, Slapper

hi guys i have been playing around with a old ke30 thats been sitting in my backyard for years i finally got it started and run it for a while then i just stopped i wound it over but it wouldnt start. i eventually pulled of the fuel hose just be for the pump and it made a kind of sucking noise, i put it back on and wound it over again and started and then run for a while and done the same thing again Please help!!!! :D :(

i put the beloved ke70 into the gutter and was just wondering what other model corollas have the same suspension and steering as the ke70 so i can look wider than ke70 spare parts.. cheers

Hey guys, I am currently in the process of re-doing my front brake and suspension setup using XT130 struts with 2spot calipers and coilovers. :D Have all the parts I need for the conversion apart from new shock inserts for the XT130 struts as the ones that were in the struts when I got them are rooted. I thought that all was going to plan, however, just before I went to order the inserts today, I realised I had a problem. What strut tophat and insert do I use? I realised that the XT tophat has a slightly larger bolt pattern than the KE one so it won't fit the KE strut tower and because my car still has all the stock suspension gear in it, I am unable to see if the XT…

hi people i have a kind big issue the 4th cylinder don't seem to be pulling its own weight. i have checked that there is spark and there is. if you look at the bottom of the plug it has a few brown marks but other than that its brand new?? looking at the others they are all brown all the plugs are almost new PLEASE HELP :-(

hey guys, just wondering what advice you would all give to tryin to start a car that hasnt been started for a few years(in the case of the engine running fine uintil it was left) apart from makin sure the batery has charge what else is ther to do? such as oil? and fuel? and anything else u can think of to give maximum chance of the engine running again all advice is welcome :P oh and the car(s) in question are a sprinter with a 4ac and 92000 on the clock not started in 2 years and also a ke70 with a 4k and 300XXX + on the clock so yeah give us ur tips :yes: cheers

hey everyone, I have an speco meter electrical oil pressure guage and sender that i want to install on my ae71 with 4age 20v silvertop. I can see the original oil pressure sender and wire just forward of the oil filter, my question is do i remove the old one completely or make a T piece so i use both?. Cheers :D

I have a 1984 AE71 4A-C 5spd and i was wondering if a 4A-FC i gather is the carby version bolt straight in? will there be much to modify? I want to use the carby version just for the easy installation. Thanks. Steve.

hey guys, just wanted some advice and thought on my idea. i have this idea of punching my cat on my corolla, it will add power as it will be a cleaner air flow plus it will sound really really nice. i heard a civic witha puched cat today and it was nice. what do u guys think? btw i do no it is illegal, but so is nearly evrything for p platers these days. punching the cat, i mean unbolting it and taking out evrything thats on the inside then putting it back together.

Hey guys, I am after some help with working out "wtf" is going wrong with my carbie. Have a 32/36 DGAV Weber on the 4K since the Aisan one shit itself. All was working fine with it over 2 months or so, but now something is wrong and I am unsure of what it is. The car will not rev at a steady level. If you try to hold the revs at a constant mark, the engine drops in revs then kinda splutters back up then drops again. The same goes for the idle. It barely idles, and when you adjust the mixture screw, it does hardley anything. The screw can be the whole way out and the engine still runs like it was halfway in. just wondering if anyone can tell me how to get rid of boost cut on a ca18det, i know that i can just run a resistor to the signal wire of the airflow meter but not sure what kind of resistor to run. apparently you can even get a adjustable resistor.

hi I'm new to this forum and recently bought a ke20. i have put ke55 struts and brakes onto it and also a ke55 diff. the problem i am having is that the handbrake cables from the ke55 diff seem to be to short. so do i put the cables from my old diff on, or is there another way? any help would be greatly appreciated, cheers.
