Can anyone help me with locating the regulator on my ae92 ("4wd" wagon) sorry if this is a stupid post but I'm unsure where the regulator is and want to find it to see if the brushes are making contact properly as my batter light is on constantly and idles low and lights dim. Have replaced the battery with a new Toyota approved one and still the same problem and I'd prefer to check the regulator first before replacing the alternator. Sorry again if I've posted this in the place

Gday lads, i've been searching high and low on forums for straight information, and as per usual the internet stirs the pot with whats works for one or another, I'm doing a turbo 3tc with a t04e and have a dgav 32/36 weber with k&n blower hat. As far as i have gotten so far is to pinch some jets out of a weber 34adm from a xe falcon, and combined with my jets i picked up in my weber. I have researched what is adequate to run a 3t standard for the primary barrel. I have research ozgemini for a good guidance forum with pictures, and 3tcgarage has given me tips on jetting to start to work by and what to get the car going(N/A). My problem is that i havent had …

I've got a problem at the moment with my car being way to loud it hurts your ears after driving. its 2 in system from the extractors back with a fairly short hot dog and then a fairly free flowing muffler on the back. i want to build a drop tip glass pack muffler like you would run on a rotary, the plan would be to make it fairly large, pack it with stainless steel wool and then muffler pack. I don't know if i will be going backwards with trying to get it quieter, i don't know how much just a standard muffler would restrict the system. it has shaved head, 32/36 weber, huge cam and so on. it moves a lot of air, so i don't really want to put on a stock type muffler to …

So I have installed a 4age with jdm t40 bellhousing & ta22 t50 into my ke20. I have installed the clutch master from ta22, and the slave cylinder from the original 4age fwd box. it is sort of working in so much that i push the pedal and the slave cylinder moves.. but not enough.. it needs to travel at least double the amount it is currently travelling to disengage clutch properly. looking at the adm ta22 slave cylinder it is smaller in length to the fwd one i have used, so i am assuming (because i have never really worked on hydro clutch before) that my master cylinder is too small to push the slave cylinder far enough. Is that likely? I really wou…

Hey guys I'm Mat and I just recently joined the rolla family with my 84' ke70. :) I just pulled out my dash and and am going to do the same with my centre console shortly as I was going to replace the cracked parts with healthy ones and replace the old near 30 year old carpet with a new black one (moulded and on it's way!) So the point of this thread is to ask for tips and steps on how to go about painting the new parts I'll be getting (Top of the dash above glove box and instrument cluster and centre console) to match my carpet. I was personally thinking about going with a lighter grey paint, but what sort of steps should I take to make sure I do as good as job as I …

I have ke55 borg warner diff in my ke20. Its starting to get all harmonic around the 100kph/3000rpm range. Its fine under acceleration and braking. It occurs specifically cruising in 5th gear at that speed. Sound a bit like a washing machine. "brrrr brrrr brrrr brrrr". Just like that! It appears to have a lot of backlash and it 'clunks' when you twist the tailshaft backwards and forwards. As this diff has the ke twenty spring mounts fitted id like to use this diff housing. What are my options in regards to replacing the diff centre and how hard is it? Will the centre out of any k series bw diffs fit?

  22. Hi, Currently under going a diff upgrade in my KE15 and when I removed the stock diff I pulled the leaf springs off and the original saddle pads were worn out. Saddle pads: http://www.mustangsplus.com/xcart/images/P/15012lg.jpg I have done some reading and found a few places where people suggest throwing them in the bin. Why...They say it tightens up the rear end for better handeling. Now if I run leaf spring directly in contact with diff you would have metal to metal wear.. With pad would stop this.... So I'm in two minds find ones that fit and get new ones OR don't install them and have a better rear end feel etc. What are other peoples v…

  23. Going down hill, hard brake, bam foot to the floor. Right rear wheel cylinder spat it's seal. Replaced it with a brand new one, didn't do the other side because I cbf'ed. Bleed up, go down street to test it, bam the left rear goes. (Karma). Replace that side too.. And this is what confuses me, start bleeding the brakes with my brother pumping the pedal up when all of a sudden the brand new right rear cylinder pops. Back to square one. Can't work out why it would pop a new one? Read through a couple threads and this is what I've put it down to. 1. AE86 JDM Brakes up front somehow causing the brake bias to be out and too much pressure going to the rear thus blowing …

  26. I've looked everywhere for a lowering block kit to suit my KE70 Panelvan for a temporary solution until I get my springs reset. Autobahn and Repco told me to hit the road. Cheapa Auto Spares said that they have a kit but it looks like it's for a Hilux (I imagine the early model "Lo-Lux") or something similar. I'm going to measure up my axle tube and stuff tomorrow and check it out, but I was just wondering if someone had already been through this process? Will the guiding pins and U bolts still be alright? Is there a kit not made for KE that still bolts up? Oh, and if you have a kit for KE on the gold coast, let me know. Thanks in advance.

I've acquired Toyota 5K 1486cc engine. A very basic specimen, missing most auxiliaries and in a rather poor state. My brother happened across an odd looking engine at the local tip. He rolled it over to check the number & $5 later it's on my engine stand. That is what I call a win. My intentions for this piece are unclear but hardly honourable. This is going to be a very slow rebuild as I want to go all places and explore all possible scenarios.... and I'm not exactly a rich amigo.

g'day boys. ok I've got a 4age engine with the small crank and I'm looking to replace the engine rods to handle the power I want but all the rods I find are for the large crank and I was wondering if it's possible to just get thicker bearings to fill the gap or do I have to get special made rods? I just not up to forking out $1,699 for a new crank. any information is much appreaciated.

Not strictly Toyota but looking for some advice. My girlfriend has a Mazda 121 bubble 1.3l that is having some trouble. It started out stuttering and not idling correctly and got worse until it would drop out unless accelerating. We pulled a code for an air flow sensor which we replaced and the code went away but the problem persisted and continued getting worse until now the car won't start. Speaking to an auto electrician he thinks it is likely the ecu but he was pretty vague. I noticed that there is only a few ohms resistance between the + and - leads with the battery disconnected and keys out and the battery is now dead also. Any one have any suggestions?

Hi i have just acquired a AE112r seca for $1200. Pretty rough but not too bad for what i paid. I have only had it a few days and have noticed that there is a vibration when at a cruising speed in any gear... There is also what i would describe as a pop noise when accelerating from from a constant cruising speed... example of the vibration would be if cruising along in say third gear with no real load on the engine and then putting your foot down steadily. It can be felt through the whole car... Doesnt feel like a wheel balance/alignment issue... I was thinking maybe engine mounts??? Also the previous owner smoked like a chimney and now the car smells as you woul…
