Hi guys, I'm looking for a bit of guidance more than anything from some of you that have been there and done it all in the Corolla scene. I'm new to Oz and old school Japanese motors, we don't get too many back home. I've set my sights on a Corolla from Circa 75-80 but don't know too much about what I should be looking for in terms of the usual mechanical issues and rust spots etc....any help here would be great. I took these photos on the streets of Thailand in 2011 with the intent to post em on Rollaclub. This station wagon was sitting 10 metres from the Thai/Burmese border so I couldn't get any more photo's. Military dudes with guns kinda freaked me out. Yesterday i bought my first car. A 1982 KE70 Corolla SE. 211,000 km $2400 (pictures will be posted tomorrow) The cars story: It was bought by a mid aged couple in 1982, between regular drives it has been garaged it's entire life in west Ballina NSW. Has been regularly serviced, and never flogged. Hi guys. I found your forum from Google and joined immediately!! So, i bought this -69 KE15 from my friend, that had the car about 11 years in the garage. I sold it to him in year 2000, and he didn't had the time to build it. So i got my youth back and the car was in the same shape that when i sold it. Engine is a 3K bigport, maybe someone has changed the cam, at least it feels like it, lol. The body is original, i think. I can't find any weldseams!! Heres my $200 daily Picked up a few months ago, finally got round to getting roadworthy/rego. havent done much to it, got makita's all round, new wheels/tyres on front perfect for either a SR20 or 4AGE, not sure which path yet, its only a daily for now, see how the modyfying bug goes. In January 2007 I purchased my 3rd classic Celica, a CA18DET powered TA22 from Queensland, and had it thrown on a truck and delivered to SA. When I bought the car it had a full interior, fairly clean CA18DET installation, running a T28, 13x7" kidney mags, king springs and a god awful SAAS steering wheel. It made 150RWkW @8000RPM on 10PSi. just thought i might post a thread about my first car, its a white 1984 ae71 slanty, got an 4ac motor. it wont get too much done to it just getting it cleaned up and a black on white two tone. set of rims, lowered etc. its got a bit of rust in the normal ke spots: rear wheel guard and other small places. so heres some pics of when i got it...

Well I've actually had this car for a long time. it started as a Standard ke35 that i bought for $200, used it as a daily till the 3k decided it had enough. I then threw a 2tg in it and T50 box. once I got some more power I blew 2 diffs. so I upgrade to a TA22 rear end converted to leaf springs. It liked this better. I started racing the car at sprints. Thanks for all the extra bits mate, some will come in handy :D Anyhow, having 340,odd kays on it, there's bound to be some problems. 1: It's running rather hot, sitting at half way on average. So far I've done the following: I gave the system a few flushes because it was running water (rusty at that) not coolant. Well I have myself a project. I bought this car with alot of half assed jobs done to it so now I'm going through and fixing everything and making it into what will be a great car 4wd. Orgininally I believe it was a LWB soft top, now chopped to a ute. This is pretty much how I bought it. The poor effort of 3/4 elliptical setup, this is being cut off and back to standard leafs. Hello, I've been lurking here for some time now and I thought to share my project with you. It's a 1974 Ke20 which I bought about five years ago in a very bad shape. Thinking afterwards I would've saved very much time by getting a better body to start with. So for the next five months I spent all my time in the garage welding that rusty little car. I, myself, installed an apexi EL2 boost gauge last weekend, which wasnt hard to do until you find the right vacuum hose to tee into! Removed the front grill to expose the cooler a bit more. hi all, i got this corolla from a friend bout 6 months ago and have only jus decided to fix it up and make it street legal. It's a 1979 KE55 Sedan, when i got it it had major rust issues and the paint was cracked and faded everywhere, the rear bumper was bent and all door seals are screwed so it has never really had a proper wash. the main rust was in the gaurds and is also the worst place to bog. i have completely stripped the car and sanded it back, 90% of rust work is fixed, as you can see most of the car is now in primer and now just waiting to find a good painter. the last places that needs bogging is in the gaurds as you can see in one of the pics taken from…

Well... I've bought myself a Ke35 Coupe. It's an auto. I've decided to make my own thread because I felt like I was Hi-Jacking Josh's Van thread. Plans: So far, to get it started and running, then Cut & Polish, and park it in the backyard. So far I don't have any plans, I still need to check the car inside out. The car has an Immaculate "Grandma Spec" Cream Vinyl Interior with 45,000kms on the clock. The car appears to be RUST FREE all round (that we know of). Hi All, Time has come to finally begin the rebuild of our old Corolla. Has been in the family since the late 80's when it was my wife's first car. It went through a body rebuild and respray ( was originally mustard yellow )in around 1992 when she was hit by a drunk driver. Got a mechanical rebuild a couple of years later when the 3k and toyoglide finally gave up the ghost.
