Hello guys! I bring you a 1974 KE20 2 door sedan all the way from Pakistan. My dad bought one of these (a four door) when I was in school but we had to sell it after a few years. Then my school buddy's dad also got one of these 2 door ones. Well at some point during that time I knew I had to get one of these. So here I was a few months back getting my daily ride checked by a mechanic and I saw this car standing a few garages away. I stopped and asked whose it was, and found out it belonged to a mechanic working there. I immediately asked if he wanted to sell, and he agreed if the the price would be right. So after bargaining for a little while we agreed upon Rs 180,000 ($…

Meet Joansy. Owned by the same family since 1974. Saw a post by another member in the spotted thread. There was a link to the trading post. We called. Got to the owner's house by about 8:45pm and took Joansy for a short drive up to the servo so that we could check her over under the lights. She hasn't been modified in any way but the family weren't enthusiasts so though she's been well loved, any little repairs haven't been done the way a meticulous collector might do. Nothing major. Just little things like the door puller on the passenger side has been replaced with a handle from a set of drawers. :) The seats have "Playboy" covers heh heh and she desperately needs a…

I recently bought a good condition a 1974 KE25 Deluxe Coupe which means it has AIR CONDITIONING!!! named "Lady Brown" It is a 1.2 litre 3K-h 2 speed automatic toyoglide which heavily lacks in acceleration! It is dead stock but my plans are to put a larger carby in it, possibly twin SU's or just a single webber and to do a manual conversion. It has several very small dents on the doors due to inconsiderate people in carparks, to solve this problem i have installed some bumper strips stretching the entire length of the car. i actually think it looks better like this. There are few small spots of rust no bigger than a five cent piece on the roof as well as the boot …

G'day all, this is my latest project (car on the waiting list..) After wanting the car for about 4 months but not being able to afford it, the previous owner asked me if i had a commodore v6 engine for a conversion he's doing, ended up swapping a vt v6 wagon for the corona! its a little bit rough, but very good in the rust department, seems to only have a tiny bit on one of the rear wheel arches, has a few dents and some of the interior is a bit torn up, but still in pretty good condition for its age, i never used to like these mk2's much, but done right they can look really good :) and i now love the shape.... anyways here are some pics. stole the whe…

ok guys before you ask no i don't have any photos ;) they will be up as soon as i take some. ok the low down, was up at mad mazda matts shop, and one of his mechanics mentioned he saw an 'old corolla' sitting near the gate at one of the local wreckers. i thought no harm in having a looksie, so on my lunch break i dawdled down there expecting to see an old ae82 or something. sure enough there was a little KE30 2 door sitting in just behind the front gate. knowing the owner i told hin i was going to have a glance, it turns out to be a 1975 2 door manual.....with a 5k in place of the 3k  the owner of the yard said 500, i said done. so it is currently residing in m…

SO, this is my younger brothers KE30 he got for dirt cheap, so therefore its in poor condition. Only good thing about it i think, would be the K50 gearbox. Which the previous owner installed I've taken it on as a project for myself, because of my love for cars ;P First things first was getting it running, with only 240,000kms on it i figured this couldnt be too hard (240k isnt much for these engines  ) So, I put a new battery in it, new spark plugs, changed out the black as sin oil and the old oil filter, and gave the carby a good spray with carby cleaner. I turned the key and it started first go.....brilliant  Next thing was to get the …

Hey guys, I own a 1975 KE30 Corolla sedan. Its basically standard apart from wheels. Has some nasty rust in a few places aswell as a few dings around the place but its not too much trouble to fix considering I am a panel beater. I will be doing a conversion to a 2002 BEAMS 3SGE Blacktop with 2004 model 6 speed box(and a few other goodies). I am just waiting for the engine to be checked out by someone because I can't inspect for myself before I buy. Hoping in will be here in the next 3-4 weeks, if not sooner. I will be running a custom one piece 3" tailshaft, and a Hilux diff with true trac LSD centre and discs. I will be doing a coilover conversion on…

Not posting to show off, but posting to share. Recently had the great opportunity to purchase this car with less than 22k original miles. Still has the 1975 registration year decal on the plate, which I've since moved and covered in the front, to allow me to place the new registration decal on the rear plate. Also, comes with original tools, tool pouch, jack, jack tools, and best of all...the owner's manual! LOL Comes stock as stock can be, down to the original unblemished hubcaps. All opinions are welcomed, but please be kind and keep any hate/negative comments to a minimal. Thank you! Now on to the pics.....and my apologies if they come out too big. I'm an old guy who'…

Got this nice little 1 owner a few weeks ago with full log books, receipts and even a Polaroid of it when it was new, its my first Corolla and so far I love it Main reason I liked it so much was that it was kept stock its whole life so there isn't many parts I need to find and I thought it was quite rare to find one in this condition. The drivers side door had a good whack a few years ago the previous owner mentioned, I had to source a new glass window (got the whole door+mirror which was awesome). Wasn't as hard to find as I had firstly thought, other than that the passenger front guard has a small but decent dent in the front near the headlight and the c…

So I've been lurking around for awhile on this forum both before I purchased this KE30, back when I had a Datsun 210, and snagged a new project off of Craigslist in Oklahoma, USA a few weeks ago for $500USD. In reality I traded some other car parts and didn't have to pay anything for this new toy. After dragging it home I found that the cylinders were stuck and began trying a few different things, Marvel Mystery Oil and other oil products. However, after that didn't work I decided to pull the head to get a better look. After pulling it off and seeing that some condensation had gotten into one of they cylinders causing some rust I decided to try a different produc…

A 1978 Corolla 1,166 cc engine and a four-speed manual trans. It has a pretty solid body, but has a few rust spots and bubbles in the paint. The under carriage needs some new pans and other sheet metal work. The interior is solid but needs reupholstered. Here are tons of pics. More to come...

Its probably not the done thing any more, but I still like to keep a build thread on my rides so I remember what I did to them along the journey! So introducing my latest acquistion, a very clean 1978 MX32 Cressida. I wanted to get something I could put the kids in the back of, that had power steering and aircon, and was generally going to be a comfortable family cruiser. This popped up on ebay for quite a bit of cash, and was all the way over in Albany WA. But it looked immaculate and I fell in love. Spoke with the owners and they had bought it from a car yard, who had bought it from the original owner, an old bloke who had handed in his licence. They were g…

Hey guys, I'll get this hit off. Recently I just discovered that my girlfriends father has a 1979 KE50 corolla sitting in his garage, he bought it brand new back in the day for $10k. He's quite attached to it and loves it to bits as it was his first car and he still has it to this day. The body is loaded with rust, the engine which I'm led to believe is a toyota 5K engine has roughly 350,000km on it, it's had a rebuild and is probably due for another one quite soon as it has just been sitting there for the last couple years and only got driven a tiny distance every few months. The interior is still original but very beaten up and weathered, we were trying to get hi…

Hey guys and gals so it seems i have found myself another rolla :) its a 1979 ke55 cs sedan which has been sitting in a hay shed for the last 12-18 months as the owners had no use for it. Its a 4 speed manual and stock as a rock right down to the factory philips tape deck, owners manuals and service manuals, even the original number plates from 1979 :) plans are pretty much tidy it up and keep it as a daily driver so far. The head is away getting machined at rhe moment as it had a blown head gasket, but here are a few photos as it was when i picked it up

So I thought I'd make this thread as a way to keep track of the stuff I'm doing with this car... The first car i've owned and worked on stock 4k-c, 3sp Auto. Only 47,000 on the clock! I'm sure it hasn't ticked over either... could've been rebuilt That front fender is the only dented panel Got it for $900. It's been sitting in a garage for the last 3-4 years. Had some minor rust here and there. Only a couple spots actually eaten through. I put a new battery in and got it going right away. since I got it i've gotten it roadworthy and it's running quite well. I've done some messy/effective rust repair, new battery, new leads/plugs, oil/filter change twice (onc…
