Hi everyone, This is my new beauty that I hope survives longer than the life of all five of my previous cars put together (not very long at all)! So it's a Tumut Blue KE70 sedan with the regular 4A-GE engine conversion. It also features some suspension modifications, including front coilovers, stiffer rear springs, adjustable shock absorbers, some larger sway bars, AJPS adjustable panhard rod and also an aluminium fuel cell in the boot, which will make it's way under the boot at a later stage. Here's some pictures! I picked her up on Friday off another RC member in Canberra and eagerly drove it home, knowing that the engine could exp…

Well it was a few month's ago when I decided I needed another car.. Something cheap to run and something relatively nice to drive. Without having any luck on a decision, I decided it would be a bad idea to just jump into anything so I played the research and wait game. The missus also needed a car, and one came up. It was my Grandfather's Ae82 hatch, 3 speed auto, 285xxx k's, faded paint with minimal rust. As he can no longer drive and she needed a car more than I needed another car we claimed it. Only problem is that it was in Mackay.... So Booked our 1 way flight's and headed up there to see some of the family and get her a car. The day before we were sc…

Hey Guys and Girls , my names Jordan I'm relatively new here although i've been following many posts for a while now and this will be my first :D. I've recently bought myself a 1975 KE30 from SA, which i admit was a huge mistake, and have paid for now. I guess its just a lesson learnt in time.. I got it trucked over here and whatnot and discovered it wasn't in as good a nick as i thought it would be (or the nick that the dude said it would be in), with buschings needing replacing, slight surface rust here and there ripped drivers seat (which is obviously fairly common) cracked dash and some other minor things which honestly i expected and i definitely rushing into it an…

Hey guys, My name is Connor and this my Ke70 that i picked up a couple of weeks ago, she's a 4k 4sp with 365k-odd kms, so she is slow but it has: - King Springs 'lows' at all 4 corners - xt130 front struts, unknown shocks - xt130 LCAs - xt130 rotors - rt132 twin-piston calipers - Sigma GSR 'Pepperpot' 15x6.5 , wrapped in Pirelli 195/50 rubber So she handles very well for what it is, also i think the pepper pots look retro as. My Plans are: 1: Sort out rear-end grinding noise (wheel bearing kit purchased) 2: Deal with the rust in the boot channel, LR 1/4 panel, fuel filler area and around the tail lights. 3: Fit my just jap fro…

Hey guys this is my Ae92, Its 3/4 Finished now, I'll throw some pics up and story from then till now. Basically, it was my Ex Gf's Mums car, She owned it from new, It was then passed onto my Ex when she got her P's, She got a new car, I took owner ship of it, Wanted something cheap to run and maintain as a daily. Its had a reasonable life, Owned by 2 mechanics now. The Ex neglected it a bit, but considering its got over 360,000 on it and is still going strong, I can't complain. I think since I've owned it I would have spent maz $1200 getting it to the stage its at now, Still have a reasonable list of things to go to 'finish' it. All the work has been done by myself, or he…

gday everyone, this is my ke16 I semi rebuilt, painted etc. It's got a rebuilt 4k with 7ke fuel injection, crane cams electric distributor and coil, 5speed, tacho. We put it on the dyno last friday and had huge back fire type flutters out of the throttle body, since running the motor in over the last two weeks it hasn't been reving well at all, so i thought a tune would sought things out but the owner of the dyno seems to think a lobe on the cam has been chewed off. We measured the valve lift and it looks like my rebuild could of been a rip off, I asked for a tighe cam with .423 valve lift and we measured around .25. The cam comes out tomorrow for…

So, The story goes along the lines of this. One day, a little old woman decided to get her usual 6 monthly service on her car. The added note on the repair order was that it would idol a little rough at the lights. Considering the car would travel 1 return trip a week from home to the golf course on a thursday mid-morning, every week since 91, she must have been pretty switched on to pickup on it! If thats not good enough, try the fact that she was in her early 80's & the genuine rims don't have one cm of gutter rash. Turns out like most cars with a 7M these days, a simple service is oil, filter, head gasket. This one was no exception. haha. Long story…

I recently bought a good condition a 1974 KE25 Deluxe Coupe which means it has AIR CONDITIONING!!! named "Lady Brown" It is a 1.2 litre 3K-h 2 speed automatic toyoglide which heavily lacks in acceleration! It is dead stock but my plans are to put a larger carby in it, possibly twin SU's or just a single webber and to do a manual conversion. It has several very small dents on the doors due to inconsiderate people in carparks, to solve this problem i have installed some bumper strips stretching the entire length of the car. i actually think it looks better like this. There are few small spots of rust no bigger than a five cent piece on the roof as well as the boot …

It has a fully rebuilt diff, a well looked after 4K, all rust has been cut out and new plates welded in, and also a full respray, as in door jams, engine bay, boot etc etc. :D Overall I am very happy with the little beast. Since I have had it I have only put the dress rims on and the eyelids. I actually, (quite surprisingly) can't bring myself to modify this car as per the norm. To then be used for fun and the occasional track day. When I bought it: It was white, unmolested, no previous welding done and relatively rust free (for Scottish standards at least). When it was in Australia: When it arrived with me: First impressions were pretty good. Got it rolled into the garage and started making a list of parts I needed. So named because of the dozen or so little f@$kers Kristy had to pick off of me. It's a 1962 DODGE Sweptline D200 3/4 ton longbed pickup. I got this because.......; a) I have always loved the lines of the Sweptline Dodges ('61-'71), b) The B3000 is too light for all the towing I do, c) Kristy and I will be moving to Washinton state in a year or so and the B3000 is WAY too light to pull the cars, moving trailer and assorted bullshit the 2,000 miles. So here it is. It looks as if someone did all the bodywork, put it in primer and junked it. It's been sitting since '92 in my buddy's pasture on rims UNDER the drums. Kristy and I went out there yesterday, put a set of tir…

I have been here a while and thought It was time I showed a few pictures of my car and what type of driving it sees. the car is a dark blue KE70 flat front and has been owned by nearly everyone. I live just off Magill road and grip drive through the hills on a weekly basis. the original 4KC was quite a screamer and never missed a beat, however a 4K has little to no torque and to climb hills with speed there is no substitute. turbo or supercharged engines have too many potential issues that will lead to increased repair/running costs, increased problem diagnosis, installation difficulty. the "feel" and "free" rev of a naturally aspirated engine i…
