Hey guys got a bit of a wires issue with my Panel. The 3k takes a long time to build any oil pressure on start up. I'm talking like 5-10 seconds which seems far far too long. Once it's built the pressure it seems fine. I've got around it right now by putting a switch onto the coil that allows me to turn over the car without ignition, but it takes seriously 20-30 seconds of cranking to get the oil light to turn out! Anyone had this before? Oil pump is in the sump right? Which means engine out to replace?

hi guys, I'm about to start wiring up my engine with stand alone ecu, the ecu i got only came with small amount of loom to work with and i don't want to spend the 330 dollars to get a new full length loom now i obviously need quite a few different wires, so the average 8 solid colours that you get from the local auto store wont be enough any one know where i can buy wires with the second tracer stripe, ie yellow with blue stripe, black with white stripe and so on? paul

Hey guys just after your opinion On the weekend I thought I would have a look at my carby as it won't open the secondaries and always idles high so I had a look to make sure all the vac lines were on and had a play with the levers and things to see if maybe anything was seized or loose couldn't find anything wrong Now it started running better after I played with the levers and things and idled at a normal rev so I was happy then on my way home from work it started playing up a lil bit then I it's started idleing high again and then all the sudden just dies and other times it just looses acceleration This would be meaning the carbys shagged and needs to be replaced …

hey guys as some of you may know i bought a mx83 cressida for my partner to get around in. i hadnt really taken much notice but it seems to be using a bit more water than usual, and the reservoir fills up to the top.......and doesnt go back into the radiator when it cools. I'm pretty sure it isnt a blown head gasket, which was my first thought, since the car still runs and drives as well as the day i bought it. are there any other reasons why this could be happening? its a 7m-ge too. any help would be great. cheers brendan

Hi all, just wondering if someone can help me out, first of all I did do a search but couldn't find an answer to my specific question but I apologize if i just didn't search quite the right thing. So, I have a 1989 Toyota Corolla seca sx with the 100kw 4A-ge, 270,000kms, pod filter, extractors and full 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 inch exhaust. Now my problem is that it will not idle when it's cold, ever. It will always stall until it starts to warm up, even my rather tired ke-70 with 678,000kms will start first turn and idle nicely, just wondering what I should do as I thought these cars had an idle up feature for cold starts??

I know you can use the crow find a cam thing but I'd have know idea what it's like to live with. So, rebuilding the 5k to put in my ke10, k50 gearbox and possibly ke55 diff. Minimal head besides a skim, 32/36, extractors, dished piston motor. Looking for a bit more mid range pull and maybe a little more top end, nothing huge as I was planning to keep factory head gear and hydro litters as I wasnt sure if my datsun/ Chev combo works with the 5k head height. So yeah, any suggestions are greatly appreciated especially …

G'day i'm just about to go about doing the diff on the ke10, it's a jap diff and it could be an auto ratio because the car was auto originally. I'll be putting in ke30/55 jap axles for the 4x114.3. I'll be running a k50 along with it and in my experience i've always found the k50 to be pretty short in the gears for my liking, so i was contemplating swapping in another diff centre while it's apart to lengthen it out as much as possible. Now does anyone one know A; A stock ke10's diff ratio, and B; The lowest Ke diff ratio i can swap in and if it's worth it Any info or advice would be Overrated, Cheers! Edit. Oh For Fck Sake M.I.N.T >| :lolcry:

So, Does anyone know what pushrod and lifter combination can be used to run the 5kc D dish head on the D dish block? Cheers, Jono

I'm most likely going a whiteline swaybar for my ke10. There's the issue of the brake calipers hitting when you switch to disk brake.. So I had the though of swapping struts side to side so the calipers are now at the rear and don't interfere Can anyone see any problems with this? I was thinking the disks will now be spinning opposite directions than they previously were.. and I'm unsure whether this would have any negative effects or I'm just overthinking it? Cheers!

I put a 32/36 dft 9a on my stock 2tc. this carb is brand new, so nothing has been tuned or adjusted. The car runs but doesnt idle. Where do I start. Here are the jets and adjustments: There are the 4 inside the housing here, and the high idle on the right side: There is a screw in a tube here (blocking the hole?) and under the choke there is another adjustment for the throttle. I have no idea how to achieve idle, but it would be nice to have so I can drive it to the guy that tunes cars. any help appriciated.

Hey, I know it's not a corolla, but I didnt know where else to ask. I just bought a km20 liteace commercial van (4k motor) and it's geared mega low for moving heavy stuff at town speeds. I believe the 5 and 7 seater versions were geared higher to drive more like a normal car. I figure the diff is what I need, but to correct the speedo, is the speedo drive at the gearbox different? Or is the calibration of the speedo itself different? Also, where can I find information on the gearbox and diff? I'd like to find out what options there were for gear ratios and what vehicle each ratio was in. I think the diff is the same as some other cars? Is there such thing as…

I have often thought about having a completely separate exhaust pipe for each cylinder. Has any one done this? A quick google search returned nothing. Any comments, thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. Would it be legal to have them exit to the sides in front of the rear wheels? PS, I'm thinking of doing this on my tow car (202 Kingswood ute) not the rolla. PSS, I'm not looking for any performance gain

Hey guys, I need your expertise! The KE20 is at the mechanic's getting roadworthy (or trying too) and it's not passing because of a front brake issue. The previous owner did a KE30 brake upgrade to the front, to change the stud pattern I guess. Also had adjustable coils put into the front. Issue now is that the steering arm is pressing up against the back for the disc brakes, not allowing enough movement in the brakes to get them to compress firmly - I.E. BRAKES ARE SHIT, and always was a concern for me since buying and getting ready for roadworthy. Mechanics suggested solution is to replace the complete strut back to original KE20 OR find smaller brakes. I don't …

  40. Hi, I need a bit of help with lowering my car. I have a ms85 crown, I ordered some lovells springs for front and rear, because they were the only company that I was aware of that made a lowered rear spring for my car (since I've found pedders makes one as well). So I installed the "sports low" springs which are the first level of low. The front is now scrubbing when I go over bumps in the road, and seems to have a soft spring rate, and the rear has barely even moved, but has a solid spring rate. It's really noticeable when corner that the rears are much stiffer. Has anyone come across variations between brands?, If I get pedders lowered springs for the rea…
