Hi all, Just spent two two weeks rebuilding my carby and it was all jammed up with gunk.. would an oil catch can help this? If so could i just run the tube from the block in to an old "MILO" tin. Would i have to vent the gas back in to the carby? Since my block has two "breather" holes should i run them both in to the can?? might seem like a silly question but some body might have played with this before! thanks in advance..

hi I own a 1984 Ke70 sedan. It drives perfectly for long distances untill you turn off the engine, then the car refuses to restart and when it does it constantly stalls and has zero acceleration. Even if you let the car sit still for a few hours it still doesn't work. However if you let the car "rest" overnight it is magically fixed and runs fine again untill u stop again. Noone has any idea what is wrong with it, the only thing i haven't done is try an exorcism. Can anyone help?

Hi. Anyone know about the 4 and 5K-J engines and what box they bolt up to? Never heard of them myself and the only reference I can find is that they were used in the KE70. Thanks.

guys last weekend I was driving along and my car spluttered a few times and started to loose power then just died, I rolled off the side of the road and all I could smell was fuel. Took the air filter off and had a look down the carby, it was almost full to the top with fuel. The car was winding over like it had no compression at all so I just got it towed home till I had more time to look at it. Yesterday I've finally got around to taking a look. First thing I checked was timing belt which is fine. Did a compression test and it came up zero on all 4 cylinders, needle didnt even move. Tested the guage on another car to make sure it was working correctly and then tr…

(Only does it under heavy braking) Ive checked the pads and they are all within .5mm in thickness. the discs are good. And had the brakes bled. Is this a pressure problem all maybe wheel alignment? Ne help muchly appreciated. ;)

I have released the clutch cable from the arm on the side of the box but i can't remove the end to slide it through the bell housing. On the ke 35 & 55 there was a slot in the fitting that the cable slides out off. This is not the case. It is always these stupid little things that stuff me up. Anyone anny ideas HELP.....please

been looking around and can't seem to find out if some ke20's come out with the borg diff? because i was going to change to a 120y diff like pauls 3tgte red rocket, ie a 6inch borg warner that pretty much bolts in. but if i can get one from a ke20 it will be 100% bolt in... thats until i have to upgrade, damn you 3tgte!

Hi, I was just wondering car the drum brakes from the rear of a KE70 fit on to a KE30? As my KE30 has the jap diff and the KE70 has the other one. I am wondering can I swap the rear drums as my original ones are SHIT they hardly work and had a mechainc or two look at then adn they can't do anything and the ones on my KE70 work great lock after 2 clicks so I want to swap them over. Can I do it witha different diff? Is much involved and what should I look for? cameron

Hi, Other day I got a few parts off NOPSI that used to be Super Jamie parts. In the box there are some good condition pistons missing the toyota logao and have 040 stamped ont eh top. I am thinking there 40 thou over sized pistons for a 4K but I have a picture here for you buys to have a look and see what you think about them. Also What is the logo inside the piston from could that be the brand? Ok now for the jig. This jig was int he box with pistons and push rods so by the looks of it and a guess it looks like aperfect rig to put conrods on to see if there the right size. My guess is that. But why would you need a jig for your conrods? As I know it isnt a ji…

Hi, My name is Cliff and I am a 1998 Corolla owner (aka: Chevy Prizm) from Northwest Florida. My mechanic is making no headway and is getting ready to throw in the towel on my Corolla. The car stalls when headlights or AC is turned on – the car runs fine otherwise. For a few weeks prior to this, the headlights would never turn off if they were ever turned on initially via the headlight switch– I would have to pull a relay under the hood momentarily and plug it back in to extinguish the lights. During this period, the Daytime Running Lights became totally inoperative (meaning that they never came on, but had always worked previously). Immediately prior to this, …

I've been looking through the Noltec catalogue as I'm looking into purchasing some adjustable camber/castor strut tops for my KE55. I have also been getting quotes from various locations, and have established that AE86 strut tops can be bought cheaper. I was under the impression that AE86 items would fit, but the Noltec catalogue disagrees with me. According to Noltec, their N44025 strut top will fit the following models: COROLLA KE20,KE25,KE26,TE25 ‘70-78 COROLLA KE30,KE35,KE36,KE38,KE50,KE55 ‘75-81 COROLLA KE70,KE71,AE70,AE71 ‘81-85 Whereas the AE86 uses part number N44026. I thought that if the part fitted an AE86, it would also fit an AE71. What w…

hi all, just a quick question. i've been searching through all of the different forums to try n find the answer but i was wondering if someone out there has put a fwd 4age into their ae71 or ke70, and when they got it into the car did the air intake manifold clear under the bonnet without being modded in another way than just the cut n shut to put the throttle body onto the front instead of the rear???????????

Hi, Was just wanting to find out some information about AE71 brakes. Are they the same as KE70 brakes eg diameter width calipers? As I know KE70 disc brakes and calipers will bolt onto a KE30 with no modifications and then I can use dunnydoor brake pads and have less brake fade and a bigger pad area to increase stopping power by a fraction. As I have a KE30 and want to put the wider disc on the car to decrease brake fade and I am able to get some AE71 brakes and caliper to suit cheap so can anyone tell me if they are a straight bolt on swap for the whole unit? eg there same as KE70 one so they will or did there bolt pattern on the caliper change mount spot etc? …

Hi all, I am putting an sc12 on my 5k, running it through a 4k efi setup. I have already done a search on here, and elsewhere and have found a lot of interesting material but am always after more. What I am looking for are pictures of this kind of setup or similar, specifically how the supercharger is mounted (in as much detail as possible), as we have only an idea as to how to go about doing it. Are all sc12s shaped the same way, with the inlet on the dipstick side and the outlet facing away from the pulley? How did everyone get around this? Also interested in what ecu I should use and also where I should get it from, and maybe a heads-up on any other tro…

ive got a recaro bucket seat to install into my ke70, wondering if anyone else has done a similar install into a ke70? how did you go about a seat rail? from what ive found AE86 seat rails are slightly to wide, by about 20mm. if someone has done a bucket seat into a ke70 please provide some info for me, as i want to know the easiest way to go about it. going with a universal rail will be a bit gay but will do it if required. just wondering if anyone has modded the AE86 seat rail? info on this would be really great. Cheers

hey people of rolla club, my name is lachlan but every 1 calls me mullet. i have recently purchaced myself a '75 ke35. she has a 4k with a 5 speed manual box. I have noticed when i accelerate that there is a flat spot but only on initial acceleration (low revs). i also seem to be going through a tank of fuel like it is going out of style and the exhaust smells very ritch. i have been told that the flat spot may be being caused by an air leak some where. Any ideas of where or any other reasons i might be encountering a 'flat spot'?? i have tried to adjust my carbie to try and decreese my fuel consumption and to try and minimise the exhaust smell but to no avil…

Hey all, much to my dismay my 4AGE block has a pretty deep pit in cylinder 1, so its either get it resleeved or use another block. However, I have a spare 4AC. Is there anything stopping me from putting 4AGE internals in the 4AC block? Is it actually weaker or anything? My mate has also offered me a 4AFE in ok condition, read up about swapping the head and that seems like a no go. But same again, is this block suitable to receive a GE crank, pistons, rod assembly? Cheers.

Gday all, I've got two rooted KE70 seats that have had their share of broken-ness for quite a while. That, and I hardly fit in the damn car. What seats and rails would allow me to sit further back, lower, and would keep me in the seat apart from a racing seat (not ready for that yet)? it's a budgo job, so anything too expensive will not be considered - period. start throwing money at unnecessary stuff, the fun goes away pretty quick now doesn't it? Thanks guys.

Hi, Just yesterday I got a full fairly new exhaust system for my KE15. All the system fits APART from the exhaust mani that bolts to the head. After stripping it back today to bare metal and painting it I noticed the heat exchanger box on the KE10 mani has the 2 bolts towards the cylinder head and the single bolt towards the wheel side of the car. And this manifold is off AE70's KE10 so it is an original manifold. So did some early KE1X manifolds have the heat exchanger box bolt pattern backwards? As Most normal corolla K exhaust manifolds have the single bolt on the cyclinder head side and the 2 other bolts on the wheel side. So in effect the bolt pattern is …
