Hey been talking to a few mechanics and been getting different answers just wondering if anyone can clarify. If i am running twin 40mm sidedraft delorto's and i wanted to bolt on a blower could i just make an alloy air box over the two carbs and run the blower striaght into that or would i have to put the carbs infront of the blower. If been told that if i bolt of the blower and put an air box striaght over the varbs the car wont run properly Just wondering on peoples thoughts Cheers nathan PS i know i make need a decomp plate which i can get made up so thats not an issue

the 4AC has spat a head (water dribbling into number 3 exhaust port). After removing the head, I can't see the hole so I assume a water gallery has corroded through and broken into the exhaust port - I further assume that there's no way of repairing this as it's internal. So ... Anybody know anywhere in Adelaide that I can get a secondhand or recond head for a 4AC without too much hassle? bugger, Slapper

ok i have the rock solid sound deaderning crap in my ke70.how do you get it off. i searched and couldnt find anything that helpes me or i missed it.any help is appretiated. cheers des

hey guys I just purchased a 1986 Corolla se sedan and a wanted to take it for a good old fashion hills cruise. I have every as standard including the 1.3L engine but other than engine (which i want to keep for now), what mods do i need to do to push its limits eg. sway bar, shocks and stuff like that? Did someone say sleeper!? Thanks guys

Hey, I went to start my engine for the first time today and i can't get fuel to the carby. Its a 32/36, i can't even get fuel to the filter. Whats the problem with it? Help will be appreciated. Mitch. PS i checked the forum already and couldnt find anything

Hi, I plan to finally be installing my 4K motor into my KE30 4dr Rolla soon. But While in the process of removing the 4K out of the car I tore the mounts. So to fit the 4K into my KE30 will I need to get new mounts or will the ones on my 3K motor in the car now fit the new 4K? As by looking at them they look slightly different so I don't know which ones to use. As apparently the KE30 was a bit slimer than other newer corollas. A wrecker near me also only has KE55 mounts so will these fit in if I can't use the 3K ones as there different? Cameron

ok i got autotecnica seats yesterday i was goin to put them till i realise my rails wont cross over(piece of s**t)and autotechnica don't make the rail that will work for my car.what have other people used, suggestions welcome.

While most of these have fallen off long ago, I'm trying to remove the door trims from my KE55 coupe, the only problem however is that I can't get the winder off. The trims are in execellent condition and will be for sale one they are removed, as such I'm reluctant to just hack them off. I know they are held on by a circlip of some discription, I just fall short of knowing how to get them off. Any help in with regards to this matter will be appreiceated Cheers jordan

hi guys iv got a ke17 sprinter with a 20valve conversion and i desperately need a diff upgrade just wondering if anyone has done this and witch diff is strong and easy for the conversion??? also id like to keep the same stud pattern if possible..... any help would be great thanks...

ever since the willowbank bank run there has been a sqeek from the front of my car.it picks up as you go faster and if ya stab the brakes quickly it goes away but as soon as ya back off it starts again. Ive had a look nothing looks wrong.anyone got any idea's :y:

Hey all, I searched the forum and couldn't find anything on this. I have a 32/36 weber and I'm putting it on my 5K. I was just having a quick look at everything and couldn't find an inlet thing for the solid fuel line. Am i just blind and can't see it or do they not have a solid fuel line? Any one that has put a 32/36 on a K motor before, any info or pics would be appreciated. Thanks.

on my 4agte in the last two months ive gone through 3 water pumps clutch fans and two radiators. they keep popping of the front were the pulley bolts on. I'm thinking of going electric, any suggestions?

Hi, I am wanting know a list of what factory options the KE series corolla (preferably KE30) could come with out of the factory? As I have seen many different things on some car and have wondered if it was standard and am wanting to compile a list of parts so I can keep my eye out for them at wreckers. E.g. Hi, Was just wondering can't he KE55 door trim fit on a KE30 door? As I believe that the KE55 had the door trim wrap right up to the window so if possible I want to switch them to stop freezing or cooking my arm on the metal door in certain sessions. Also if this is possible does anyone have pictures they could show me just to see how it will look and also for some inspiration? Cameron

ok i just brought a recon steering rack for my twincam ae82 the steering rack came out of ae82 csx and i was just about to start pulling my car apart 2 fit i when i rilized they were different. the one in my car has an extra set of hoses that come out of it and go up to the bottom of the fuel injection rail. What are these hoses for can i just block them at the fuel injection rail and not bother about them? Cheer Shane

Hey i was just wondering what sort of sealent people use when putting the alloy cups around the sparkplugs and other gaskets on the motor as i am having trouble sealing the sparkplug cups. I've used a black silicon sealant which was a waste of time and i've now tried aviation for-a-gasket No. 3 goo no hardening. Just wondering if there is something on the market that the toyota factory used it was a grey colour Cheers nathan thanks in advance

Hey hey, all you insane Corolla gurus out there. Should I go cheapo and fit wagon springs from the wreckers to stiffen my KE30's behind? Would it make an appreciable difference? I'm just assuming they would fit. Or should I get Redcliff Springs and Suspension to reset them plus 1 leaf for what is admittedly a very reasonable price?

not sure but i think this guy has put a ae71 front on a ke70 boby just wanted to know if u can do it not sure y u would i have reason to beleave the two cars are the same car and as u can see it has a k motor

Before i start, my car is an Aus spec AE92 with an AFM 4AGZE. I installed an A/F ratio kit from jaycar a few days ago, it was only going to be there temporarily. Anyway, to cut a long story short, I left the Oxygen sensor wire off and it was on the interior, this morning i started my car and the oxygen sensor wire happened to touch the steering column and sparked (i didn't realise the thing was live!). The car then stalled & blew the EFI-Heater fuse under the bonnet, i replaced the fuse with another 15A fuse (reccomended type) and it just keeps blowing them, the car turns over but won't start. Any suggestions? every other fuse seems to be good, there is a coup…

just wondering if a steering wheel that suits a ra40 and corona has the same spline as a ke70? i have been told that some one that they don't think so but want to make shoure... cheers aaron

how is a little bit of camber achived on a ke10??? is there any sort of Lower control arm that can give it camber that is a straight fit or will it require custom stuff?? and what sway bar will fit in the front out of another car? will a ke20 one fit or something of ke20 length will a rear swaybar from something else fit either any help appreciated but i don't really want to spend much cash cheers james

ok guys sum of you may know i picked up the qwad throt injected 5k race motor of ke25racer ok now here is the problem. ? we start the it up runs fine for the first 5 or 10 min then its nice and warm then it starts starving for fuel what is causing this to start gasping for fuel. ?? we have put a fuel presure gauge on it (vl turbo pump is 95 psi and it sits on that till the motor warms up and then drops rapidly down to 20 or 30 psi) ? ok guys any and as mutch help needed have had this happening for a couple weeks now and just can't put out finger on it. Hey. Is there anyway you can stop petrol splashing out of the feul tank. The KE70s don't have a valve to prevent splashback around the feul tank thing. I just did a bit of work removing the rust and getting it looking nice and was wondering if there was a way to stop it from happening again. Eg installing the valve. Thanks.

hey, just a quick question. The tension know on you handbrake, (In my case KE30), Is it needed?? I just got home, yanked up the handbrake and the knob flew off at me. Is it needed?? Can i still use the car?? Will the handbrake fail next time i use it??

Hey everyone, just a quick question i have a 74 KE20 which has had a disc brake conversion on the front KE30 i think, but it doesn't have a booster, and i am informed that to pass mod plate and RWC specs in QLD i need a booster for the disc brakes. Does anyone know if any later Boosters bolt up and work KE30, KE70 e.t.c and has anyone done it, is it easy e.t.c thanks guys any help would be appreciated.

I am a new here and just want to know what I can do to my car. I have an 88' 4a-ge ae82 rolla. it is a twin cam red top 16v 4a-ge. All that has been done to the engine is a pod filter. It also has a 6" tip for the exhaust. no performance just a mean sound. I just want to know how I can the most performance out of the car with the least price, whether I try extractors, injectors or an safc computer to tune my stock computer. hey guys, When I make a left hand turn and put pressure on the right handside of the car my shockies on the left make sounds?? like a quick bang sound.... this doesn't sound to good. The car seems to handle ok, as I don't really push it around town.... how can I tell if its blown? :hammer:

I was at the wreckers a few weeks back and took afew pics of two cars which i think may have been a rebadge. Just thought it would be interesting to know. I was clearing my phones memory when i found the pics. The cars are: Datsun 120Y (Coupe) & Chrysler/Mitsubishi Lancer Front In person the front looks almost the same. Rear Its basicly the same shape, I don't have pics of the tail lights but they are similar. Side See the door handle/locks are in the same place, the antena is in the same place, its even got the little window at the back and the roof line is the same.

Hi, I was at the libary today going through the car manuals to find some corolla info. And I see the ?K-B series motor put out more power than the ?K-C series motor. So I was woundering what is different about these two motors and which would be the best one to do up the ?K-B or the ?K-C motor? Thanks Cameron

hey i just fitted a sc 14 supercharger to my 4k and it is idling funny like it picks up revs then looses revs and nearlly stalls the it repeats i have no idea y if anyone can help me that would be great thanks johnny t

Hi, I was just wondering car the drum brakes from the rear of a KE70 fit on to a KE30? As my KE30 has the jap diff and the KE70 has the other one. I am wondering can I swap the rear drums as my original ones are SHIT they hardly work and had a mechainc or two look at then adn they can't do anything and the ones on my KE70 work great lock after 2 clicks so I want to swap them over. Can I do it witha different diff? Is much involved and what should I look for? cameron

Hi All, Today I picked up a working 5 speed gear box out of a KE70 for $50 (has the rest of a car hanging off it but..lol) I want to install this into my KE30 that currently runs a 3K and a 4 speed box. So my main question is to fit it ill I need to remove the engine or can it go in from under neath? Also I know I have to cut the shifter hole back more but will this mean I need a shorter tail shaft? Also will this gear box bolt up to a 3K motor no problem or is the input shaft etc different? Hi, i have a completely stock KE20 and am looking at changing the diff ratios and putting a 5 speed gearbox in. At the moment the car is revving its guts out doing 100kms and i want to do some long distance driving in it and travel in 100km zones every day. What would be the best diff to put in and what car will i find it in? What car can i find a 5 speed gearbox in that will bolt straight into my car? Thank you Daniel
