here lyes the question? i have been told that i need to run the socks plus the trumpets (being a tuned length) on the webers, then i was told to piss them off and put the K & N filters (the ones that arnt cheap) on with the trumpets inside. my thought is to make an alloy air box up to bolt on the webers. thats the easy bit, my next thought is where is the inlet going to be? my first thought was put it straight out the front of the box and near a fresh air opening next to the radiator , but then the distance that the air has to travel is different to each carby. second thought is to put the inlet in the middle on the underside of the box and turn it 90 deg …

G'day fellas I've got a little problem with my KE55. Big problem actually. I've got a stock 4K-C and it's pissing petrol out of what I believe is the fuel pump. The part is on the line inbetween the fuel filter and the carby so i believe it is the fuel pump. It says "KYOSAN DENKI" on the top. It is little and round. It has a line coming out of it with two brass nuts on it, one large and one small. There is a significant amount of fuel pissing out of the top nut. What is wrong? Is this why I used 30L for 150km? How do i fix it? Do i need a new fuel pump? Cheers guys, you're great.

They are b45s if it makes any difference. Will it make the out of balance or centre or anything. Will i need to etch prime them as well? Thanks guys!

Hi Guys & Gals, Been out of the loop for a while as my bastard boss sent me overseas (H.K.) for a spell. But that's another story, and I'll just say I'm going to take him to Oxley's Hotel on Coro Drive for Christmas; get him drunk, tell him what I think of him; then throw him overboard ! I hope he doesn't read this forum ! He drives a Saab ! Not that I've got anything against Saabs. But you get the picture. Anyway, I'm back and have a problem I hope your collective minds can assist with. Heaven's Nicks been at work hasn't he. There's a thing down the bottom of this page called "Guided Mode Off" (are they fitting auto pilot to old Coro…

Hey guys, sorry to bother you guys about things like this.. must make me sound really dumb or something.. but i've been searching for a manual of some sort for this car... can't find it here... and its kinda expensive to post it from Aussieland too.. anyway.. anyone know of the existence of a drainage system in a KE70? everytime it rains, i keep hearing this constant slushing sound from under the driver's door... i thought at first it came from the door itself (rubber seals from the driver's window not in good condition) and water might have collected inside the door... but nothing of that sort (i took apart the door panels, no water inside)... sounds comes from …

Ok, my car really needs some Rims. I need to know the exact size for the Ke70 rim. I already understand that the rim is 1.14.3 and is RWD patern or something. Is this correct. Also what are good brands and what looks good. Thanks...

I understand that K heads are interchangeable between K blocks... Is there any issue with heads that are designed for blocks with a smaller bore going onto bigger-bore blocks? example: 3K or 4K head on 5K. Is there more to it than just bolting it on with a new gasket? :harhar:

Hi Guys I can`t believe i`ve found a site that caters for my old corolla, I had my car first in 91 as a daily driver,i resprayed it, lowered it,a set of alloy wheels and a set of seats from a liftback,I drove it like that till 96 when the 2nd 3kh motor expired and it`s been left in the garage ever since,I always wanted to make it go,stop and handle better, What do you guys suggest? Cheers Adrian P.s bodywork needs sorting first but the chance of more power is my inspiration

Anyone have experience with spraying metallic paint and clear coat??? I have plenty of experience with ordinary colour acrylics and get good results, but a bit wary of these metallics - could be a disappointing mess I think if not done right. Any different technique in laying on base coats? Same viscosity? Any tips on how to handle overspray on roof and bonnet when you can't sand back? What viscosity for clear coat? How many coats? I searched Google but couldn't find anything really useful - anyone know of any good links?

Gday guys. The other day ont he way home from work my clutch wasnt disengaging properly and thus it was quite difficult changing gears. Not what i wanted at the time as it was f###ing hot. Anyway i thought id fixed it by moving the circlip where the clutch goes through the firewall but that lasted a few days and the problem is back again. I have a 5k with a 5 speed gearbox out of a ke 70. I was just wondering if you guys could shed any liight on the topic as it is really pissing me off. I've checked every point along the cables travel and ive since deduced that it must be somthing wrong internally. Also the problem seems intermittent and only plays up when i exceed 3500 r…

gday peoples.... on the weekend i had a little bit of time to muck around with the dash lights in grover...i was sick of the green tinge they had because of the blue cover they have over the yellow globe. So i intended to fix it....by installing blue LED's into the bulb holders....thanks to Ruts suggestion (and the spare bulb he gave me). the result was good

Does anyone know the maximum bore for a 5K? Also does anyone know anywhere i could get flat-top pistons for a 5K? The rollaclub wiki reckons aftermarket ones exist... but coventry doesn't sell them.

I will be getting new suspension in the next couple of weeks, and the offset of my rims arent going to be the best. It already scrubs now when hitting bumps in the road and going fairly fast. So what is the cheapest and easiest way of rolling my rear gaurds? Thanks

So, we've got our project rolla.. Now, some time between disassembly for painting and re-assembly something has gone awry in the front suspension. We appear to have gained a degree or two of *positive* camber and the steering feel on straight ahead is very vague. What are we likely to have messed up? Are the strut tops offset? Can we have put anything else in backwards? Would love to solve it to rego it tomorrow.

often working on a 30-odd yearold car, you undo a bolt and the thread is all full of crap. i always worry about stripping threads out (god knows i've done enough of them), so i like to give them a clean and a spray with inox before putting the bolt back in cleaning the thread in the body or part isn't usually a problem, you can grind a bit lengthways out of a bolt and wind that in, cleaning all the crap out, or i've even gone to the massive several dollars expense of buying M6, M8 and M10 thread taps, which i just quickly wind in and out and get all the gunk out nicely bolts are another matter not really wanting to spend like 20 dollars each on the accompanyin…

today when I drove the car.. just after I did a hard brake from around 80 to 30km/h I heard a weird sound from hehind.. I have problems describing the sound because of the lack of my english knowlegde.. but I can only describe it as if you lower your car too much and hitting a speed dump or something.. and it's like if my wheel is not in center and hitting the chassis 1 time every cycle.. if I drive slow in 1. gear I can't hear it.. the faster I drive the faster the sound is.. the sound is only there when I accelerate.. I can clutch.. or just give a tiny bit of throttle without accelerate and the sound disapers.. the sound is getting louder if I give much thro…

Hey I'm not sure whether this is possible on alot of car parts, but I'm interested because I really like the durability of the finish and the look. How cool would it be to have like an anodised panel LOL. Thanks Troy

Hey Today, I just felt like doing something apart from body work so I thought I'd just have a little look inside the engine. Now, I used a 14mm socket wrench and it was going well with the rocker cover bolts and then I got a few bolts in and just kept slipping off. It appears the bolt is 'stripped' and 2 others also. Any ideas on what to do? People before hand had fun with it by the looks of them. Thanks Troy
