Thought since I was building one up may as well share PIXs, Info, Highs and Lows with rollaclub members. I'll keep a update of the cost as well, Just don't heckle me too much each time I get ripped off. Build so far. Picked up a old KE30 farm hack for free. 10 year old son stripped car, with a Kmart tool set, I was hoping to sell some of the interior parts to cover costs but he broke every thing. ( bugger) Worse job so far has been removing sound deading, A paint scraper and heat gun work good here. Inspected shell for rust, yep it there in all the spots I would expect to find it. Noticed its been cut and shunt at the drivers front subframe rail. This…

Hey all, i now have a ke30 2 door corolla. My turbo Ke55 is on hold for the moment :P Here are some pics of the car when i picked it up. As you can see it needs a little bit of work! This car has a 5k motor and a 5 speed gearbox. the body is fairly straight apart from a few dents around the place. and there is minimal rust.. compared to my other corolla! I am going to spray the car acrylic white to give it a mirror finish. also some future plans are white wall tires a rear venetian blind and probably lowered a little bit. other then that ill probably keep it stock standard as i have my quick little red rocket as my other car. I am also looking for a…

We’re finally beginning to get back into doing some work on the cars. First priority is getting my ke30 club car going. Today Rob and I managed to tidy up some wiring in the engine bay and remove the majority of some very hard cracked paint and rust from the bootlid. Obviously there’s still a lot more work to be done, including some more much dreaded sanding tomorrow, but we’re making progress. forgot to take a pic of the bootlid before I started, but this pic is after hours of scraping and sanding :/ it looked like dry cracked mud prior!

Hey everyone, just wanna share some pics of my rolla from when I got it, to how it is now. Picked it up as a rolling shell for a pretty penny with intentions to slowly make it nice. How it looked when I saw it for the first time in the person I bought it off's backyard Interior looked nice and neat- no cracks in the dash or rips in the seats, all nice and original This is the day I picked it up Having no motor in it made it a bit easier to take off the trailer on my own!

Ok, i've had the car for eight months now and i've spent well over five grand ($5,000.00+) on getting the car on the road. Since then i've done some minor adjustments and slowly, yet surely, she is progressing. I just thought that i'd post some pictures of her and the way she's developed since i rescued her from being wrecked. I rescued her from my brother after he ran it into the ground. She was never serviced and he was pumping the wrong fuel into her for well over a year until she just gave up. He couldn't even give her away so she sat in the yard rusting away. First thing was to have her towed out of the yard and down the road where she was getting a reconned 4K …

Well after looking at some of the other projects on the site. I decided it was time to post up some piccies of the project I am about to undertake. This started it's life with my Wifes next door neighbours, they bought her new and literally drove it about 3 times a week. We got hold of it back in 1999 with an original 48,000klms on the clock but as it was used by two elderly folk, it had a few dents here and there. It was originally Dark Green / Teal colour. We had her resprayed and straightened in 2000 and that is how you see it now. in 2007 it was retired to the shed after massive gearbox and brake failure. A new car was bought and I am sad to say the old girl w…

Welcome! You may have had a look at my other thread at http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/72174-best-engine-swap-for-ke30/, where I was after information on engine swaps. I will be fixing and modding my 4k. I have a forum post on mighty car mods forum which I will edit a link in tonight. I've been working up the motivation to do this for a while now as its been on the road for 6 months or so. The car is street registered and engineered for all the mods. I've had this car for 8 years with numerous K motors in it before the urge to have a Rotary got the best of me 3 years ago. I got engineers approval and then ripped out the Hot 5K and twin carbs and sold them before I changed my mind about the conversion. I hit walls where workshops would quote $7K - $10K to do mounting of the motor and gearbox..... Then winter rolled on and I really couldnt be bothered with the car. I had brief patches of motivation during that time where I tackled the bodywor…

Hey all this is my first "old school" corolla ive owned but have always like the old ke's but never came around to getting one until now as its something different to me and i thought now's the best time to start with something fresh. My ke30 is a 1978 model sedan(auto with factory A/C, 77,000klms), its a 1 original owner most of its life until recently. I got it from a guy who bought it from the original owner who was gonna restore it but changed his mind and sold it. Now This is where i step into the picture, I was looking to do a engine conversion on my S15 200SX and will have everything from this car mechanically left aside from it so when i found this corol…

This has been a work in progress since early 2006. Finally its looking like happening. I've been planning something along the lines of the ChrisGT ke35 for over 2 years now. Stay tuned. For now i'll post some pictures of the ke35. Should be getting started on the project within the next month or so. Donor car pictures soon, and hopefully soon after that, project pictures! PRESENT: 1978 Toyota Corolla ke35 hardtop (with a nice little 4k & 5spd gb) There's a little bit of rust, faded paint and a few dents, but it is a 30 year old vehicle. Hey Everyone, Figured I would start a build thread, considering it has turned into more of a build than just a buy and drive. So I've already started a thread which a few of you have already thankfully helped me with, but I believe starting this thread (WITH PICS!) will be a more suitable place for everything. This is how I bought it, As some of you had seen the ads you will recognize these photos. Seller informed me all it would need was the water pump put on, tail shaft installed, gearbox oil put in, and a radiator and hoses. After it got delivered i promptly got it up on stands and started on the small list to finish her off. And that's whe…

o.k. here I am, relatively new to the forum, first post. I was working for a vehicle restoration company early last year when I got offered this KE36 for sale, at the time I was 16 and although I was interested garage space at home was lacking, I joined this forumn however in the hope that one day the car would become mine and I could get some ideas, so here I am, year and a half later, about to get my p plates when I get a phone call asking me if I am still interested or she was going to the wreckers, well I couldn't let that happen could I?? $200 + $70 for a tow home and the car was in my possesion! I will try to post regularly as I move on, however garage…

G'day everyone, This is my new project. It's a 78 ke36 panel van. It's got a 3tgte under the hood, a celica 5 speed, and a spooled 9" diff in the rear. So far i have replaced the front suspension with KYB shocks and KING springs. I am replacing the front guards, bonnet and grille with new taiwanese items (unless anyone has any good secondhand stuff for sale ;) ). I'm also taking out the spool and converting back to LSD for street use and so I can get the thing registered. It will be wearing a fresh coat of bright red paint soon too. If anyone in Brisbane has a front left guard, rear bumper, honeycomb style grille or the panel that goes under the bumper and joins th…
