  3. I have owned this car twice, this is the second time I have attempted to build it for a 4age.. First owned the car somewhere around 10 years ago.. Paid $700 for what was a decent car, as time went on I purchased an import corona turbo and got sick of the corolla. After sitting in the weather for a few years I decided to fit a 4age in it... After fitting the motor, getting extractors and a bunch of work done I got desperate and needed a wagon.. So I sold it for $1000 with brand new custom 4age extractors, modified radiator, recond (unused head), recond twin solex and a brand new redline manifold and a t50.. Sadly I lost an ASS load of cash car was stripped f…

I've been itching for a few photos of the slanty and flat fronts side by side. So we went for a bit of a drive out to (quite possibly) THE best meetup point off in the corner of Sunnybank Plaza, on the rooftop car park. It's basically this empty 24/7 from the looks of things. It completely escaped me to take pictures of the engine bays next to one another (ESPECIALLY the slanty), but I'll post up a few when I next get a chance. I'll start off with a few that are sure to please Reed :D aaaaaaaaaaaaand here's a shot of those tertiary bonnet restraints... you know.... for those 200km/h passes an almost standard rolla can achieve, yo…

  8. Hey guys I'm back for another build After just finishing the purple ke70 http://www.rollaclub...-83-ke70-build/ which was supposed to be my first car, i realised i went over bored haha, its now turned into a show car/weekend cruiser because i don't want to wreck it as its been doing well in the shows. It makes me nervous to even leave it on the side of the road now haha so i decided i needed to get a daily driver. I first though that i would get a ute or something until dads mate told him he found a ae71 at this old blokes house he did a job for, told him he wanted to get rid of it, had just been sitting there for two years straight not being driven and out of reg…

Hey people, Three weeks ago a bloke at my work liked my red ke70 and told me him and his wife owned one, etc and gave it to their daughter two years ago cause they didn't want it anymore so asked about it and he said they still had. I didn't know what to expect cause he said it was badly rusted, ball joints were worn, etc etc. So I went to the address and I was shock on how original it was. They told me everything about the car and what had been done to it and that they wanted to get rid of it cause it was costing them money, the funny thing was when I was viewing they said if I didn't buy it they were going to take it to sims. So I offered them $250 for it and they a…

Hey guys. New here. So i pick up an old rolla wagon from an old bloke last week. Car is pretty clean. He owned it since new. Anyway, plan for the car is to service it, get it running well (its a little rough at idle and splutters now and then under load, thats the reason I came here. To learn how to do fix it) and daily it. Plan after that is to lower it a little and get some nice wheels.

  14. Hey all, so I've had this rusty snot box for about a month now. Bought it stock as a rock as a daily to replace a ST162 white lightning, cost $700 with 6 months rego just put on. Not much to say about it, its stock as a rock with as you probably read 642 000kms, not a typo, that works out its been around the world around 15 times haha. Diff is very noisy, the bushes in the rear are all but non existent so the back end feels like its alive and has a mind of its own, and tie rod ends on the front are shot. Good bits: Rust, (aside from what you can see in the rear quarters) there is very little rust, none around the windows/doors and very very little in the boot.…

Well after looking at some of the other projects on the site. I decided it was time to post up some piccies of the project I am about to undertake. This started it's life with my Wifes next door neighbours, they bought her new and literally drove it about 3 times a week. We got hold of it back in 1999 with an original 48,000klms on the clock but as it was used by two elderly folk, it had a few dents here and there. It was originally Dark Green / Teal colour. We had her resprayed and straightened in 2000 and that is how you see it now. in 2007 it was retired to the shed after massive gearbox and brake failure. A new car was bought and I am sad to say the old girl w…

The 4K while being nice and clean is blowing alot of smoke under power. Can't wait to get something more powerfull under the hood. I want to build this car up as being a ae86 in granpas cardigan. So as you expect it has a 4age on the way. I also have a shed load of parts waiting to go in once I have passed the road worthy certificate. Like these Hopeing to use the experience and advice of others on this site too get a good understanding of what not to do.

  21. So here's my first AE86. I've had KE70's and a T18 before, but not a hachi. So it's either a Dec 83 or a Jan 84 build (not sure) zenki Levin. Bought it for $1400 full of holes where rust had been cut out. It had no panels on it but came with everything minus a drivers door. The hatch that came with it was cut to bits so I went and got a TRD one with no rust for $200. Trailered it 300kms home pulling it with an R30 Skyline (that only overheated once through the hills) and left it overnight still strapped to the trailer. The next day I started just bolting stuff on, seeing how it all looked so I can decide on a paint colour and start welding/sanding/priming. …

  22. I am deadset farken hopeless. I lasted maybe a month before I bought another car to go club racing lol.. Saw this on ebay a few months ago and was keen but the timing was poor, however its popped up again this week so I snapped it up. It does officially break the "only three toy cars" rule at home, but I think its cheapness has let me sneak it in. The basics are its a 1986? (I will have to check that) Ae82 Corolla Twin Cam hatch. Someone clearly loved it and spent a lot of money on it at some point in its life. Has 20 valve conversion, reportedly done by Toyrolla Spares. Its very neat from the brief look I have had over it. I pretty much purchased it to keep for parts for him, but I kind of liked it too much and decided to teach myself car restoration instead. :drinks: Bought on ebay in 2009 still on reg. The car was originally from Sandringham Motors Melbourne it is a 1968 ke10 made in Japan with a 4 speed. It had an Original motor with recent head fitted, new fuel filter and hoses but its valves seals are worn or it has cracked rings as it blows white smoke. It was boiling when I picked it up but cleaned out the radiator and all was good. I reckon the car was recently serviced…

Car has no real rust in it at all, only very minor surface rust on the front of the car which look like they were caused by stone chips. It has a dent on the drivers front guard, and the vinyl is average. But for a one owner 67 car, I'm pretty happy.. WIll not be doing anything to this. I thought would post up a few pics and links about my car. Some one posted about it two years ago, and I have been lurking here ever since. I have been working on it since 2006, and the car is finally pretty much done. The summary is that it's a 1975 Corolla body that was in horrible shape when I got it. It was so rusted that I cut the firewall and the entire floor out. The shell sits on a chassis that I built to to hold the front and rear suspension from a Lexus SC400, powered by a V8 from the same donor car supercharged by a M112 from an SVT Mustang, and backed up by a T56 from and LT1 Camaro. Every bit of work required to do this was done by myself in …
