My project car is a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) 1987 Toyota Corolla II GP Turbo (Grey Import) I bought the car in bad shape for a decent price, so I spent thousands refreshing the car and bringing it back to its original standard. Once Finished I decided on a 4EFTE transplant from an early Starlet GT Turbo. The conversion was dodgy and to cut a long story short, I was ripped off leaving me with a car with more problems then when I originally bought it, and the problems from the dodgy engine transplant ultimately lead to the car faulting and being taking off the road. Slowly I have been repairing the car and finding things which need attention. The pl…

Ok, i've had the car for eight months now and i've spent well over five grand ($5,000.00+) on getting the car on the road. Since then i've done some minor adjustments and slowly, yet surely, she is progressing. I just thought that i'd post some pictures of her and the way she's developed since i rescued her from being wrecked. I rescued her from my brother after he ran it into the ground. She was never serviced and he was pumping the wrong fuel into her for well over a year until she just gave up. He couldn't even give her away so she sat in the yard rusting away. First thing was to have her towed out of the yard and down the road where she was getting a reconned 4K …

  8. Hey all, As some of you may know - On the 13th April, 2006 - I bought myself a 1984 Toyota AE71 Corolla Spirit, 5 Speed Manual and it has the 1.6L Super Responsive (hehe) 4-AC engine. A very impressive car... Excellent Condition for the age and price I paid, which was only $750 - For a completely working car allround, no issues at all. Also to my amazement was the dash reading only 188,000 Kms  ...I guess I hit the jackpot with this car :lolcry: Anway this is my new project car, as I already have a daily car (1984 Mazda 626 Super Deluxe 2.0L Manual) and I am looking to swap the 4-AC motor for either a 4AGE 'Big Port' 100kW \ 4AGE 'Small Port' Silver…

Stock KE55 beater, complete with dodgy manual conversion, 50% compression on #1 Cylinder and noisy tappets! Project KE25, currently being stripped for small rust repairs/acid dip/respray and a FULL rebuild/restoration of every single mechanical/electronic/interior component. That's it! Gday all, hear is my lil '78 Ive been working on for the last couple of months, with a lot more months to follow. It started out as the corolla that "Little" Grandma took to lawnbowls then it was bought by my Dad around 14 years ago and was transformed into a Datsun-1600-flogging-Rally-machine. Running a 2TG, Dad and i rallyed it for a few years when we then retired it to the shed were it sat for about 5 years collecting dust (and rust). In the meantime we moved to Qld and brought the beast to the sun. Dad had really lost interest by then and it was left to sunbake up north with the surf and salt. About 6 months ago i said "Dad, this is shit, I'm taking it!" and have sl…

yesterday i acquired a ke25, it is a 73 deluxe auto. it came as a rolling shell with no motor or box. the shell is pretty much rust free, with the only rust i've found being in the bottoms of the front guards and a bit on one side under the radiator support panel. the bottom of the doors and rear guards are excellent rustwise. needs a bit of panelbeating and a paintjob. the interior is pretty good. needs a hood liner, dashtop, and carpet. otherwise it is pretty overrated. anyway here's some pics:

Car are an expensive hobby and once you have spent lots of $$ getting your hobby up to a useable standard you normally have to spend more $$ to keep it workable/running My other choice for spending $$ on is my arcade cabinet. I have a full set of blueprints from MameRoom for the Ultimate II cabinet (see pic below) I have all the software I need from Mame and a front end from mameWah I have designed a custom 'skin' for mamewah to suit the cabinet design I have in mind Note the number of playable games list at the bottom left 2900+!!! Hey I'm new here so I thought I'd show off my KE50 seeing as there's only one other one on the entire forum. They're definitely a rarity but chicks dig 'em and that's all that matters. Mine's a 77 model. Came with the 1166cc engine which was way too slow for my Dad when he owned it (132kph on-the-mat ) so he shoehorned in a water injected, T04 Rotomaster turbocharger way back in '79 for Mini Cooper S beating performance & 172kph max. (40kph increase on standard!!)T03 would've been a better match but they weren't round then. For extra grunt then came the switch for the big cubes 1290cc. (Top speed now 182kph) Its got Aunger Wheels, a JVC MP3 player and a Momo wheel (T…

Hey All, my project has been on my mind alot lately and figured i let you guys know officially what's done and what's do be done. I bought the car from John from importbits as some guys from toymods might know him about 2-3 years ago. I had already just bought a sprinter shell off him and was about to do a 3tgte conversion when i spotted this ke25 sitting in his garage looking sad and un-loved. So i sold my sprinter and coughed up the cash for the ke25. It already had a 4agze sitting in the engine bay, missing the super charger and wiring but it was one thing i didn't have to do. It also already had a set of Magna slotted discs up front, custom adjustable sway…

Well I know I said to myself and everyone else I wouldn't touch this one but how can you not???? It's begging for the Craig touch. Big front brakes, bigger drums and a 5speed at least. I'v done a little bit of research today. R31 struts should almost be a bolt in affair. (Haha. Bolt in. Who am I kidding??) The bolt spacing for the steering arm is 80mm just like the ke20 and the strut height is only 20mm longer than a ke20. Probably end up with a little bit of increased track. I am just waiting to find out what the ID of the r31 spring is so I can work out whether or not I need to convert them to coilovers. That's it for now apart from giving it a was…
