Hay guys just got my ke20 project that I have started and I was looking underneath the car and by the looks of it there is not much room for a descent size tyre. Can anyone tell me how wide of a rear tyre can I go with out moving in the leafs. Or do I just bite the bullet and move them in now rather than later.

  4. Picking up a front end damaged KE50 tomorrow and am going to part it out before it hits the Scrap metal yard just wondering if anything will fit into a KE10 for example Manual Pedal Box--is the clutch cable interchangable? Front Struts Brakes Diff etc. If your after anything from it let me know the car is complete besides the front end damage has the tacho dash and rarer steering wheel from the ke50, I assume this is interchangeable between the ke30/35/55 am I correct?

hay guys. I'm currently in the process of building a ke20. not sure on the motor option yet but will be something turbo. hopefully around the 250rwkw mark. now i want to keep the sleeper look with the standard wheels and tyres for now. what diff will be a fairly simple bolt in with a LSD centre that i could run the standard ke20 wheels. keep in mind i want to do this on a budget as i will be putting a hilux diff and tubs down the track. cheers guys.

So I had my spare twinky wheel laying around and I was bored. The thing looked pretty ratshit. I don't know what happened to the leather but it was bad. So out came the razor blade, and I started un-stitching the leather. Which left a weird glue behind. So I tried degreaser, glass cleaner, turps, brake cleaner. But thinners got it off the best. Gave it a wash in hot soapy water and one of those green kitchen scrubbers and voila... Pretty sweet transformation. Sure its not leather any more but its gone from a POS looking wheel to a respectable looking one.

  9. So I picked up a 2nd gen 4AGE on the weekend. It's out of an AE86, so it's got loom, all the RWD parts, engine mounts, ecu and a T50 on the back. The block itself is toast, it was run without oil and chucked rods out of the side, but I figured I could sell the gearbox to easily cover the costs of getting the whole package and I'd have a bunch of RWD bits that will come in handy. Checked it over I noticed that it had TRD cast into the shifter mount, so it's got a short throw shifter on it. Nice! Took it home, pulled off the gearbox and it has a lightweight chromoly flywheel and 3 puck racing clutch in it, yes! Anyway, I needed to find some rev heads and shar…

Hello all, I just purchased a 1975 Corolla TE30 deluxe and have tried to get info on this car. I know it has a 1400 cc engine and maybe dual carbs. I went on Toyota's website, but can't find info on how many are made etc. My question would be on getting parts etc. Many thanks for anyone that can help.

Good morning, gentlemen. I recently purchased the above Weber carbie after reading the rollaclub wiki, and was hoping to get a bit of light shed on what work needs to be done to have it fitted to my (for now) stock 4k engine. I'm sort of relying on this to get my car back on the road, so whatever help I can get would be excellent. Thanks!

  18. Today I picked up an electric fan (Mazda 121 or similar, newish small hatch) from the wrecker for $5, and $40 worth of thermoswitch. Welll, actually I got a set of new front brake hoses, a pair of rear Monroe GT gas shocks and the fan for $20. Having mounted the fan on the rad I was working out where to put the relay, and found that there is a space for one in the KE70 relay box! So some KEs must have had one! The big question is... does anyone know which wire to hack into for the thermoswitch, such that the ignition/relay/fan wiring retains as much KE70 as possible. Meantime, I'll go look at the KE70 wiring diagram. Writeup to follow....

Not too sure if this is the right section to post this but here goes. Hi everyone, recently purchased a ke20 2 door coupe with qld mod plate done way back in the year 1995. Its got all the codes to legally cover the mods done to it. The car was previously fully regoed in qld before it was kept away in storage for years. My question is: it has LK1 code which is for the 2 seater conversion, fixed back bucket seats and 4 point racing harness. However, the seats are fiberglass and i can't find any sticker, label, stitching on the seat to say they are adr approved. The previous owner however verbally stated that they were the seats on it when it was mod plated in 1995.…

Hey guys I'm new here i have been having a problem with my ke70 and its stock 4k, the car will not idle at all even when in neutral to keep it running i have to keep revving it, also when i take off it has no power what so ever barley gets up to 60kms the prevous own told me the manifold gasket needed replacing, makes sense because it sounds like a tractor. What would be the causes of no idle and no power but, could it be a blown engine? no smoke coming out or anything The car is also manual Help is really appreciated thanks :)

How do you get a hot lap with, Top Gear’s tame racing driver, The Stig? The promotion begins on Monday 6th January. Ordinarily it's not that simple. You have to do is become a successful British or International celebrity. Then cross your fingers that you get invited to participate Top Gear's ‘star in a reasonably priced car’ segment in the UK. Then, hopefully, in preparation for that segment, the Stig, who does the celebrity driver tuition, will take you for a lap of the Top Gear Circuit to demonstrate what to do. There is an easier way thanks to Yokohama. At the Top Gear Festival 2013 we gave one lucky person a Hot Lap with the Stig. It blew his min…

  31. Since playing with Datsun 1200's for the last 3 weeks I've noticed one thing.... They have the same diff as a KE10. I blew my Datsun diff, and i looked the KE10 diff's i had lying around and they were exactly the same.. Different stud pattern and tailshaft flange. Quoted from the Datsun Tech wiki " Apparently this is the same diff that was in AMI-built Corolla KE10, but those have a 4 x 110 wheel bolt pattern. " The Borgwarner Model 60 rear diff... So i'm thinking the people with Borg Warner diffs in their KE10's could potentially unbolt the axles out, and put Datsun 1200 Axles which are 4x114.3 and then put KE20 discs with 30 hubs and have a 4x114.3 conversion fo…

So I'm after a diff for my 70 that will handle 500+hp. Is my only option a 9"?, if I could go a lighter option I would prefer it. Also want to attach disc brakes so my question is what are people running and is it just easier to change to stud pattern so you can fit some big track brakes front and back?

  35. G'day all, I think i'm going to buy myself a gasless mig for christmas, I haven't owned one before and to be honest haven't used one much either, but have experience with oxyacetylene. What can you recommend to look for? amps, adjustment, options and features to look for? It will be for automotive stuff, exhausts, crossmembers, body panels etc... would something like this be suitable? http://www.supercheapauto.com.au/online-store/products/Weldskill-135-MIG-Welder.aspx?pid=346523#Cross Has anyone bought one in the past that they can recommend? I'm guessing most if not all of you have an air compressor of some sort in the garage for either the odd job or all the time. Can anyone recommend a brand or size that works well for them. I need one thats going to allow me to do some painting now and then, DA sanding of panels, some grinding and use smaller tools too. I see super cheap have a special on their 2.5hp, 120lpm, 40ltr tank Blackridge compressor, would this cut it for the tools I want to use? I'm guessing probably not but not sure as I havent bought a compressor before. Any advise would be appreciated. Cheers
