hi all, i have just finished my 4age transplant and bought a BIG thermofan, now there is heaps of info on 20v thermo switches but not any that i could find on 16v anyway, was wondering what temp i should turn the thermo fan on at? also where is best spot to mount thermo switch? i have an external thermostat with tem sender in it and also a random piece of pipe coming from bottom of raditator with temp sender dunno if i should use them with thermo fan setup cheers

hey guys iv got a 4age 20v (silvertop). my timing belt is almost done for. so i need to replace it. however the pully system is marked incorrectly (when i got it dyno'd it said 40 degrees out) when that is impossible to run without blowing as the tuner said.... so when replacing the timing belt how do i do so correctly, also if i replace the whole pully system how can i Remark the right degree'z etc ! Just wondering is there any difference between the 4age and 4agze mounts. I was thinking of getting a 4agze rather then another 4age as i wish to do a turbo setup. Also gearbox's, are the different? can't find any topic pages for this conversion thats all

hey guys i have brought a 4age and i was just running a few ideas throught my head and was thinking of supercharging it, just courious what this would invole, obviously the super charger and computer is needed i was just woundering if injectors or anything like that is also needed from a ze motor... i would obviously run low boost to save the motor alot of stress.. if some one knows or has done this before just a list of whats needed would be great.. thanks guys mozzy

I have a problem with my 4age ke70 it keeps snappin the water pump thats the 2nd pump ive been frew I'm running a clutch fan would anyone have an idea what may be the problem.

Hay all, Recently I started getting a high pitch squeeling noise from the waterpump pulley, whenever I spin it manually it has a noise. So I was wondering is there any way to just replace a bearing or do I have to replace the whole pump, if I can just replace a bearing how much work is it, its a smallport 4age. thanks for the help

Can any one give me venturi (choke) size there running on there 4ages.I have 45 dcoes ,just a bass line setting to get it running. From what i can work out 36mm ventures,145 main ,f16 e tubes,200 air corrector.idle ?? Just till i get it to the dyno .But the closer i can get it the better. Am i close ?? cheers rob

hi everyone, i have been building a 4age combo that has a t50 behind it. there a two things left for me to buy. one is a starter motor, does it have to be a ae86 one to fit under the stock headers? we have tryed playing around with a few we had lieing around but it hit on the headers. second item is a salve cylinder i no i can use a ae71, but i noticed at the wreckers that one from a ae82 looks like a close fit? so i wondering if an other salve cylinder of an other rolla would work? as i havent seen to many ae71s lieing around? thanks for the help.

hey everyone, i am doing a 4age conversion and ive run into a problem, i went to bolt the gearbox up to the motor today, and half of the bolts don't seem to line up? its a adm t50 and a bigport 4age, with the dowels that are spose to go in the top of the bell housing, the dowel is on the passenger side top sticking out of the engine, whereas the whole for it in the bellhousing is in the drivers side top, and a couple of the bolts just don't seem to go anywhere? I'm confused, please help

ok guys ive got a ke38 p/van with a 4afte, thats a 4afe with a turbo fitted not a 4efte. any way i wana upgrade cause i no the 4afe has sh!t internals i got my hands on a 4age out of an ae82 i believe this is a big port motor?. and now to my question which is the best motor to turbo the big port the small port or the GZE also reasonings as to why they are better/different would be great thanks Duggy

I was wondering on peoples opinions on putting a SC12 on a 16v 4AGE smallport (N/A) So it will be high comp. I'm not planning on running massive boost. What would I be needing to change/upgrade to get it to work. Rough figures on price would be ripper! As its possibly to buy 4AGZE so I obviously I wouldn't want to spend more than one of those cost So what I assume currently is: Bigger injectors- 7mgte or 4agze, is there any other options? New ecu- could a 4agze be used? or aftermarket? Intercooler and plumping setup. Some what modified loom or possibly 4agze one? Not sure what would be necessary here New intake manifold or 4agze or will it fit the standard…

Hey guys, does anyone on here run an EMS stinger with a 4agte or even a 4age? I brought a ke70 in pieces with a 4agte, its all built and loomed to the diagram but no spark? Running a CAS and coilpacks, and the EMS has no paramiters and I don't know what to set them too, any help would be much appreciated

hi guys, relatively new to this. i have a ae92 corolla seca 4agze converted to turbo. I'm looking at doing the headgasket on it because it is running a bit badly at the moment. can anyone help me out with the best gasket to use? I'm after things like *brand? *thickness? *material it is made from? *& locations of where to get it from and prices? any help would be really good. I'm after the best, i don't want to be redoing it. thanks guys christian

i have a 4agze with turbo setup and wondering where people have got the water feed from water outlet from there aint many locations to get them from it don't have factory hoses as its a rwd so where on block etc can i put these lines to or what hose should i put to any help from some1 thats done this before appreciated thanks

Have a AE86 with a 4AGTE conversion with a Motec M48. Trying to get a Tacho output signal either to run the dash tach or Monster Tacho. Its running the 4AGZE Dli setup and I have done a few searches etc but I thought someone here might have had direct experience with it. Would be nice to find the person who did the conversion and pick their brains about the car. Any help appreciated Regards Keith

I've heard there is 3 or 4 different 4AGZE motors what's the difference between each? and which is the pick of the bunch with an eye for future mods? I've heard the AE101 version was the most powerfull, and I know I can get my hands on one easily enough...but what makes it more powerfull? Don't want to get it then find out it's more powerfull because of something that I'm going to have to remove anyways due to the RWD installation (ie. inlet manifold) Dave

I'm about to get a bearing kit for my 4agze (bigport), but i first need to know if the bearing are differant/stronger for gzes. Just covering all bases before i spends money. Google hasnt turned up anything.

just wondering when people convert from 4agze to 4agte 1.does the computer run the engine well (such as fuel & timing)??? 2.whats your experiances??? 3.i have a tunned aftermarket ecu for a 4agze would it start and drive well enough before a full tune on a 4agte??? any1 done this or turboed a 4agze and took chargwer off as I'm intersted how your car went as its a common modification i would love to know how your cars went cause I'm guessing the vacume,time to hit boost,timing and fuel would differ from supercharged to turbo thank you

Hi all, i have a bit of a problem. Some fool at the engine shop decided to machine the wrong crank for my new engine as i took 2 in with oil pumps still attached as the damn timing gear didnt want to budge from either and they screwed it up and machined the 4age one. Which i found out after rebuilding, attaching everything, new turbo manifold the lot and then came the harmonic ballancer. Well it has a different Keyway doesnt it. which wont be such a problem as i can get my hands on a 4age 1 i gave my mate. but as its going to be turbo a forged crank would be best. which brings me to my question. Is there any difference between 4AGZE and the 100kw 4AGE cranks? though…

hi i have a supercharged 4agze in a ke30 corolla. have a firing problem/starting problem would just like to kno what you guys think could be causing this as the igniter is in working order and so are both my coils. this is a random happening so it starts and runs fine sometimes but somtime may start and run fine then fir on 3 cyls and then run fine and then wont start after a short stop or sometimes wont start at all could this be a computer problem?? please all feedback would be much appriciated :blush:

So I had this weird knocking coming from my engine, I thought it was the SC12 but I just replaced it and the noise is still there. I'm 99% sure its coming from under the cam covers. All the timing marks line up and all the clearances seem fine. It is fine until the engine warms up, only happens at idle. The car seems to drive fine, pulls hard. Has 264/8.1 HKS cams (not installed by me). hey everyone does anyone have a 4agze rwd motor that they could give me the part numbers of their fan belts off the waterpump and the supercharger....both of mine snaped and came off and have been trying for like 2 weeks to find some but can't anywhere

I've heard that the intake manifold on the 4AGZE is absolutely crap (very restrictive), and that improving it helps unleash extra horsepower. Does anyone here have any experience with this? I was thinking along the lines of using a 20v head, thereby making my engine a 4AGZE 20v (as I believe has been done before), using the 20 valve motor's quad throttle bodies, and just having a plenum chamber manufactured to keep the boost in. Obviously, this will require some computer trickery to make sure everything works together properly, but I would think that it'd make some good power. It'd also make it better for future upgrades, as this is a race-only car, so it can be a …

Hey guys, I got a 4agze in an ae82 rolla it has a front mount but it is leaking, is it possible to run it without the cooler and not cause damage to the charger or motor it is runnning standard everything, i really don't got the cash to fix it or buy another only an apprentice. any help is appreciated.

Hey hey, I need a new radiator for my ke70 to suit my 4agze and i was just thinking most radiators from automatic cars have a transmission oil cooler built into them. What if i used that oil cooler for the engine and not the tranny, would it work or do more harm than good ?

picked up myself a ae82 with a 4agze conversion a month back, was going sweet until half way to work one day and it started the sound like a lawn mower. still runs but sounds like running on only 2-3 cylinders and fuel is leaking straight out of the flange between the headers and exhaust. couple of mates think its injector problem of maybe an ecu problem. just wanna know if anyone has any ideas as to what the problem could be? cheers Andrew.

Hey rolla clan. So decided to finally put a 5speed in my ke11. I was sold it being told it was out of a 30 no tunnel mod needed. It's clear not. But the problem seem to be different size spline. Did some reading there's a 19 and 21 and bingo here's my dilemma. Can the shaft be swapped between boxes or is it a matter of changing the clutches over ?? When I push the clutch in on my DX, to stop at the lights, it just seems to die. I have to pull the choke on it a bit to make it idle, but after ive pulled the choke out it will idle again without dieing... do you guys have any idea what is causing this? :lolcry:
