Hey all Well, as you know ive got 1x Ke20 in my driveway with 1x very sad 3k. So, ive been deciding on a few options for it latelly, and come up with some ideas. First up, get the interiour upto scratch, complentating a bit of custom gauge work, but that will come over time. Fix the body up, and do something about those guards. The ROH's are staying on that car. Bahhaha ANYWAY! Motorwize is what i want to talk about. I was thinking it would be wize to put a motor in thats going to work for the car, and suit its purpose. G'day. My 5kc is copping some boost, So the 4kc head has made a comeback. Now i've seen people say 'I've heard you can run this' or 'This MIGHT work' But, I want to know what you're actually running According to the faq Chev lifters and a12 pushrods or Landcruiser lifters and a12 pushrods are the go Is anyone actually running this setup? Hey guys i have a 5k for my ke20 and I'm just wondering what u guys think would be the best option for it. my mates running an import ke70 box in his 20 so i believe a k50 is probably my best bet cause its still cable and not hydraulic like a t50 but t50 seems to be a stronger box. i have a 5k flywheel and will run a HD clutch and.the motor will.be producing roughly 100kw so yea? any help.would.be great :)

After fully engaging 5th gear, on the highway, after a few seconds it jumps back to neutral. Doesn't happen with any other gear, only 5th. Anyone know what it could be? Nothing in the car has changed. Any info would be appreciated.

i have been told that fifth generation 4afe piston raises compression when put in an earlier generation motor is that true do they have the same pin 18mm i think or are they 20mm or larger thanks for the Help Regards Harry

hey guys, well ive got the 1ggte into the ke70 rebuilt and running well now :P latest issue is, i want to keep the stock tacho, however its designed for a 4 cylinder engine, and I'm getting a 6 cylinder pulse from the mallory ignition system I'm wondering if anyone knows how to do this, or knows a product to convert it? i found one, but at 295 i could just pay someone to steal teddy's custom dash and gauges :jamie: i just thought that maybe i could reprint the tacho face thingo with the numbers 2/3rds further round, but i would run out of tacho around the 6000 mark then...not enough hehe so if anyone has any solutions or ideas I'm keen to hear them cheers, a…

Hi guys. I have recently brought a 1968 corona RT40 with 2r and man 4 spd. I seem to be having trouble getting basic parts like service items so does anyone have the toyota part numbers for the basic items such as oil filter, air filter, rocker gasket etc? It will also be having a full respray when the summer is over and found some door and window rubbers on ebay but wondered if anyone else has used these pattern parts? rgds james PS - I'm from the uk

Okay, I'm trying to help a buddy locate a good front coil over conversion for his 1971 Corolla...He does not want to replace the stock strut tube which I believe is smaller that the SR5 buy about 5mm. He is also looking into using ground control front adjustable coil overs so that means he wants a shock that is a short stroke so that when he lowers his front end, the shocks would not bottom out. What would be a good spring rate for street use? I do know that the MR2 shocks are often used, but non SR5 had 45mm outside diameter front strut housing and in contrast the SR5 versions had 50mm housings. is the diff in a 78 hilux a RN41? and if it is how much would one be worth roughly with a noisy centre? id replace the centre with a g series lsd and use MA70 rear hub carriers, backing plates and brakes and would the brake booster fit a TA22? for an upgrade with the brakes?

Hey guys, I've read around the place that a 4A GZE head will go onto a 7A FE, does this mean that other heads from the 4A series will go on there too? My plans at the moment are: Forged Pistons and Rods (I've seen the rods in these and they are like a gay mans wrist - quite limp) 20V Head. Ecu Port n Polish and other exhaust / induction type things. Balance the crank and maybe a bit of a boring out. and a lift in compression Know any stronger boxes I could use (like sportivo 6 speed or camry V6 5 Speed)? Can anyone shed some light on my situation. I've got an AE112 corolla sportivo and i've just been told the bearings in the gearbox are shot. I think it's probably a lot cheaper to put a new gearbox on than repair this one. Can anyone confirm the gearbox from any 7A-FE will fit another, say from an AE96 or AE101. I can find a gearbox fairly cheaply from an older model corolla with the same engine, i just wanted to make sure the gearboxes are compatible. Cheers. Andrew

Hey Guys, i fairly new here but i would like to know if anybody has done a 7afe to 20V conversion, and what they thought of it? going to build a Ke 35 hardtop, i have two broken 20v silver tops, so i thought either a 7age20v or a 3sg what do you guys think, car will be a club car and build under sched r rules. still have lots of homework to do though.

hey would i be able to have 7afe cams re-profiled to be used as performance cams for a 4afe and would a 7afe ecu and injectors be able to be used in a 4afe if so where can i get these parts and how much are there any more torque creating mods for a 4afe i might be doing a swap later on but i wouldn't mind working a 4afe (easy to learn and work with) cheers

i have been looking around the internet for a while trying to find info on putting a 7afe head on a 4afe. i have a few questions as i can't find too much for myself is it a possible/easy thing to do? are any gains that will come of it worthwhile? i am well aware that it would be a better choice to put in a 4age, but I'm a uni student and am not too phased if i butcher this car so i want to play with the 4afe.

Hey can anyone tell me if a dizzy from a carby 7k would be suitable for a 4k with side draft weber and extractors, will i need to have it re-graphed or are they o.k as is and what's the deal with tiny leads? Also i know i'll need coil to suit anything else?

I was hoping to get some info from people who have used the 7k-e manifold and megasquirt computer. The main problem is how to control the idle speed control valve, I can't work out what type of signal the computer provides to the valve. Any help and experience on this would be much appreciated.

after purchacing a KE30 recently matching number vehicle. needs a little tlc but is rust free and original which has pointed me in the direction of rebuilding the 3k motor i like the idea of injection so the question is does the 7k injection manifold set up fit a 3k motor or am i better off sourcing a 5k motor and going down that avenue. i want to keep it looking as original as possible

Hi guys, a penny for your thoughts... My Rolla has a 7K fitted to what I'm assuming to be a standard 5 speed out of a Ke30. Bellhousing is cast onto the body of the box. When I first purchased this vehicle, it was running a 7K flywheel and heavy duty clutch. As I soon discovered, I was breaking a clutch cable on average once a month. This was because the fork had little or no adjustment, due to the fact that the fork was pushed right against the back of the spline due to the height of the 7K clutch and flywheel. Hi guys, I was at just wrecking Toyota's at Wingfield in Adelaide today and just asked the question about 7K motors. They said they are readily available complete with wiring loom etc for $750. recently rebuilt 7mge with around 20 thou removed from the block and head. (compression should be around 10.5:1), ran it in by mildly thrashing it. But now have the problem with TERRIBLE fuel eco. my mate who was following me while i was giving it a boot said it was blowing black smoke all thru the rev range. 60L of 98 octance just got 300km. timing was set at the factory 8 degrees. but i could feel like it didnt want to pull nicely. therefore bumped it up to 15, went a little beter then laster bumped it up to 22! now it ʞ©$ɟing PULLS! heres a pic of the plug any ideas on what to check? o2 sensor. afm? tps? vac leaks?

hey i can't get into any of the mechanical places that have the abbility to do this until like feburay so I'm tryin here and toymods and supraforums and boost i have a ma70 supra and have just put a 7mgte engine with it, the ECU i got with the new engine is tuned to a different 7m with falcon throttle body, huge injectors yadda yadda and basicly runs like arse until it spools up. so we need to remap the ecu with a standard 7mgte base map so....... whos got 1?

Hi guys. The speedway team I'm with has purchased a Junior. We haven't raced it yet. Over the last couple of outings for this car it's spun so many times it's a bit of a joke. Well the laughter is coming from a corner nearby as I have to sort it. With the car up high and the wheels sitting on blocks I saw the problem straight away. The leaf springs aren't set right. To get tilt in the car they've put a straighter leaf set in the left rear. With weight on the LR leaf set is actually bending the opposite way to what it should be doing. The right side leaf set has about a 1/2" curve through out. Not much suspension allowed here. Is this a 'normal set up' on one of these cars…

I am doing the clutch on my 81 sr5 and I need to know the torque specs for the drive shaft to the differential, the drive shaft to each other, the transmission mount bracket bolts, the bell housing bolts to the block, the clutch cover bolts, the flywheel bolts, the main seal shield/transmission gasket bolts, the shift lever bolts, along with anything else I may be missing in my lenghthy run-along sentence. My manual is simply a general manual for corollas from 2tc all the way to 4age and has none of this specific info except flywheel torque. And all I have found online is more flywheel torque specs.
