Hi! Does anyone know if Weber IW 054 Injectors fit to the Bosch type bungs? Atleast Weber has 14mm O-rings in both ends. I'm planning on building a manifold for EFI setup to my 3k and can't find any other weld on bungs than for Bosch. Heres a pic of the Weber injector: and these are the bungs I'm planning to use: http://www.ebay.com/...90a56fb&vxp=mtr

decided to start pinky the to day and noticed that the was a fuel leak near No. 4 injector. the black rings that are on top the injector and sit against the fuel rail does it matter if the r broken or cracked? as they are like it but they others don't seem to leak. it seemed as though it was more of a mist or spray than actually dripping hence why i thought injector due to pressure. any other suggestions?

Hi, I'm my KE30 for a while now the fuel gauge has been playing up on me. It gives false readings and is slow to work. Some problems it has is I can fully fill the tank and gauge will lift really fast then go really slowly and take about 5min to get to the right reading. Then I can drive 150Km and it will not move but turn off the ignition and back on later or when you next drive the gauge will go from reading full to half full tank. So I drove to the fuel depo to see if it was gauge or motor chewing the fuel and it was the gauge as it took 12L of fuel to fill the tank so the gauge should of dropped a 1/4 only. So I have decided to pull the fuel tank sender …

Hi Guys See two pictures attached, one is the solid lines from the fuel tank (Assume) and the other the fuel pump on a 4AC engine. I need to get the two of these linked, the pictures describe what I think each are, Am I correct? Cheers Mike

G'day fellas I've got a little problem with my KE55. Big problem actually. I've got a stock 4K-C and it's pissing petrol out of what I believe is the fuel pump. The part is on the line inbetween the fuel filter and the carby so i believe it is the fuel pump. It says "KYOSAN DENKI" on the top. It is little and round. It has a line coming out of it with two brass nuts on it, one large and one small. There is a significant amount of fuel pissing out of the top nut. What is wrong? Is this why I used 30L for 150km? How do i fix it? Do i need a new fuel pump? Cheers guys, you're great.

Hi, For a while now I have been re-building a set of Phh 40 mkuni/solex carbs for my KE15. Time has come to start thinking about fuel pump. I want to get rid of the mechanical pump and go electric. Now here is the stumbling point. What to choose. I have been looking at Holley Red and that but really not sure what to go with. Solex need exactly 2.84 to 4.98 PSI fuel pressure. Now link below is to the holley red pump. Has in-built pressure adjustment and pumps 0-7PSI. http://www.holley.com/12-801-1.asp Now this is just one pump. Can anyone suggest other brands etc and where I can buy one from for a good pump? After the pump ill need a fuel press…

I'm gradually converting a KE55 to run a 2TGEU engine with twin Solex carburettors. The 2TGEU does not come with a mechanical fuel pump though I imagine a 2T one would do. But I'm planning to drill a crankcase breather/baffle for the PCV system through the mechanical pump block off plate as the 2TGEU block is blanked off where the 2TG crankcase breather would sit. So I expect to use an inexpensive Facet style low pressure electric fuel pump and have been looking into fuel cutoff safety switch options and there would appear to be (at least) three different types. Which type have people had experience with and recommend? - An oil pressure switch turns off the fu…

hey there guys this might sound stupid but i have a ke70 panno that has a 4K with a cam, shaved head, twin solex's, and extractors. the problem is i keep killing standard fuel pumps. i am now thinking that standard pumps might not be good enough to do the job(or they could just be crap pumps). would anyone know if A. they are to small? B. what would be a good and fairly cheap setup i could use to get the job done if i need to go bigger. cheers sam

I rebuilt my carb. After getting it all together I noticed that the bowl wasn't filling with gasoline. If I manually fill the bowl the car runs fine, but it wont fill itself. I am almost certain that the twists that were needed to take the fuel solenoid off were just enough to kill the ancient wiring soldered on the back. Any other thoughts?

Gday Guys! I've got a sanding disk for my grinder because I'm trying to take pretty much all the paint off my Ke70, due to there being A) terrible paint and B) surface rust. What is the best method, that isn't sand blasting to get the paint off? I've began sanding by hand, got half way through the Bonnet and Boot Lid and was over that method, I've heard that lathering the car in Pain Stripper may work, but also heard about the sanding disks for grinders. What are peoples preferred methods? And with using the Grinding/Sanding Disks, is there a method that works best? Thanks guys, Ethan.

my name is reuben and i own a 1979 ke55 corolla. which i have had for 3 years. it still has its original block thats been rebuilt with flat tops and chrome rings. i ported the head in my shead at home including all port matched. extractors 4 into 2 into 1 at 1 7/8 and into 2 inch at the first resonator. the 7200 rpm redline comes around pretty quick and 210 psi in each cylinder makes it expensive to run only really liking premium. thermo fan and electronic fuel pump all hooked up to the standard 4 speed and clutch. the diff, springs and rear brakes are all out of a wagon. new 2pak RX4 metallic purple with lots of clear. all up its cost about $900 including buying the ca…

Ok guys, I've begun to source parts for Maxi's rebuild.... because I will stretch my budget I can't afford to pay for labour (all u money hungry members can push ur back button now!) so I need your help... and to make it even better I thought we can make it into a Rolla Help / Tech day.. were we all can learn how to put in suspension shocks and springs.. replace a bush or 2, put in a slave cylinder and bleed it, plug a WRX Turbo on a custom made manifold and plug up all the oil lines. I hope this doesn't sound like a win win situation for me alone... frankly it is because I get help on something I don't know.. but I think it would also be a win win situation for s…

I'm after some suggestions as to the optimal settings for the wheel alignment. A brief history on the car: bought as a damaged vehicle through pickles auctions, control arms mashed up, some front end damage, bent chassis. The chassis was straightened (paid someone to do it) the control arms have been replaced, some of the panel work done (new guard and some paint) and some basic work for a RWC. The engine has since been rebuilt, a piston was broken in two piece and it was making a rather odd noise The gearbox has also been rebuilt a few times (oil leaks, noisy bearings, crunchy synchros etc). The car has about 190,000km on it now. Anyway, recently I've …

Hey all, just dropping by to say gday, my names Michael i currently own a suzuki swift, and I'm thinking about moving on to corollas. I want one as a project, but i don't know too much about them. I want a RWD corolla, probably either a ke70 or an ae71. I will upgrade the engine, probably with a 4age or 4afe, depending on price. My question is which model would be better for that, ke70 or ae71? and whats the average asking price for either one of those models? i checked ebay there isnt many for sale at all, i don't need one with rego just not falling to pieces :lolcry: thanks for listening

hey, on my ke25 i am doing the ke70 brake upgrade. now i wouldnt mind a dual circuit brake master cylinder and one thats a bit bigger to suit the ke70 calipers as the ke70 calipers use a 20.64 bore, compared to the corolla 17.46 bore. the rear wheel cylinders are both 20.64 on the ke25 and ke70. now the galant ga master brake cylinders are no longer avaliable supposedly but are 19.05 bore which would be good. the galant gd master brake cylinders are still avaliable in boosted 20.64 bore and non boosted 17.46 bore. now the questions are... if i use the non boosted one will 18% bore difference make that much pedal difference to drive around? upd…

I have a 4age, I believe is a small port with a MAP sensor witch means out of an AE92? It has the typical few leaks, tappet covers, sump etc Been trying to source gaskets and seals for it but am really struggling through the internet and places like repco. Most of all the 4age gaskets and gasket kits listed online and in stores are for cars like aw11 and ae82 witch are big ports (right?). so the basic question is will big port gaskets fit a small port? (apart from the intake manifold I'm guessing). And what other cars where released with my engine of future reference? also any good parts sites where I might be able to get them from? and has anyone else struggled to…

Hey i was just wondering what sort of sealent people use when putting the alloy cups around the sparkplugs and other gaskets on the motor as i am having trouble sealing the sparkplug cups. I've used a black silicon sealant which was a waste of time and i've now tried aviation for-a-gasket No. 3 goo no hardening. Just wondering if there is something on the market that the toyota factory used it was a grey colour Cheers nathan thanks in advance

Hey guys, Just wondering if the 5K can go gasketless? As in just use silicon and no rubber gasket. I have gone through two sump gaskets already as they just deform and pop out of place when I tighten them up. They don't even sit on properly to begin with. The gasket is totally fine in all places but the corner underneath cylinder 1 pops out and leaks like a bastard. Cheers

Well the question as the title says is very easy, i have a KE70 with the stock (ugly) cluster, and i want a tacho in the cluster but here in uruguay, no tacho cluster :) , so let the mods begin one cluster that i have in mind is the AE92 cluster because is easy and cheap to find here. Conectionwise will it be difficult to conect??? how about the speddo read??? BTW i don't know if this goes here

Have been speaking to Andrew Vibert from Central Victorian Auto Parts, he used to rally a JDM TE37 (which has unfortunately now been sold...), he's been rallying that car for a good 8 years now and was the Vic 2WD champion last year so knows a thing or two about rallying Corollas... Anyways, we got to talking about gear ratios (since I'm looking for 4.3 gears), and the topic came up about the gearset from Palmside NZ, and also the gearsets that Albins has, and I mentioned that Rob was thinking of getting the Palmside gears... Anyways, here is some of the conversation (in lots of pieces): He also gave me a gear calculator thingy (Excel spr…

As some of you may know, I've been on the lookout for a 4.3:1 ratio for my T-series diff (and an LSD if I can find one cheap enough). Anyway, as far as I know my diff is out of an RA28 Celica (so I'm told anyway), and has a 3.9:1 ratio. Center is broken, missing bits that should be there. I did count the teeth when I first took it out, but have forgotten now, but I think it was a 43/11 ratio (3.909). Anyway, I was speaking to the boys at Option1Garage the other day (they seem to be the only people I can get an LSD or gears from, everybody else seems to talk a lot and not deliver), and they had a Cusco center and ring gear. Ring gear out of a 4.3:1 ratio, 43 tee…
