Hey Guys. I've been on here a while now, very much enjoy looking at the builds, and learning from the discussions. I don't come from a family of mechanically talented people, and so most of my "skills" are self taught, in a shed with a haynes manual, If I told you my first fan belt change cost me something like 2 hours (stripped a couple bolts along the way, WD40 it up guys), you better believe it. But I've come a long way since then, and nowadays I'm more confident and skilled, but that doesn't mean I'm anything without proper instructions. I'm now prepping for my biggest adventure so far : an engine swap. changing the 3K to a 2T with a conversion set…

I'm having some fuel troubles with my car and it would seem that my main pump is draining the surge tank faster then the lift pump can fill it as I found out after some "spirited" driving. Whats happening is the main pump hums along in the back and all is well until you give it some stick, after which the the main pump starts to make a gargling sort of noise like it's not getting enough fuel. Then it all comes to a spluttering stand still. After an hour or so it will fix its self enough to get it home (small town where anywhere is close to everywhere) Anyway I was thinking about one of these carter electric fuel pumps 72g/h (273L/h) at 7psi suitable for 450hp. Mo…

Hi, I'm Bill Buttermore from Ames, IA. I've been working on my own cars since 1966. I recently rescued a '91 Corolla with a 4A FE engine and a 5-spd manual transmission from my local junkyard. The engine was in many pieces, but the rest of the car is in pretty nice shape. I have pulled the engine and trans and want to change out the half shaft seals in the transaxle while I have the tranny out and up. But I can not find any information on what transaxle I have. I have the trans up on my hoist and the only ID I have found on it is a riveted metal tag that displays only the VIN. I searched this site, but found only reference to axle ratios referenced to…

(With in reason), but alot of people say stock (4ac) radiator are good and get them redone ?, other say aftermarket is the way to go :P I measured up a cressdia (7m) and it would fit snuggly into the bay, but how good are they? My mums BF's just had a hairline fracture.....

I need to mount my Carb approved Weber to my 2tc manifolt since my kit diddnt come with an adapter, and I can't seem to find one the right size. I can do this in 2 different ways. I can create a spacer out of some 6011 aluminum. I have a stick of .75”x3”x12'. The other way would be using a spare intake I have from a 78 and hogging out the inside where the carb normally bolts to, and inserting a square (that bolts to carb) then welding. Well look at my ridiculous paint diagram and pics. Shaded cut out is of the weber carb's base. The hard way. don't Laugh!: or The spacer: Which way would you do it? And why?

i have been offered a turbo and turbo manifold for my ca18 the turbo is a t3 off a saab, so it has small exhaust housing. minimal shaft play, but the guy informs me it could do with a rebuild. and the manifold is a standard ca item that has "apprantly" been ported for "better" flow. it also has a t3 flange so that helps some what. what do you guys reckon its worth, as he has said make an offer and i'm not very good at offering for things (ie. i always offer way to much)

Hey, Bottom hose on radiator got too close to the alternator and was cut. Need a new one now but don't know what hose to get. 2tg engine with a standard ke30 radiator. I have the hose that was on there but have no idea what it came out of. Hopefully someone can help me. Got pics below of where the hose needs to go and what was on there before.

  16. Some of you may remember reading that i converted my ke25 from a 7k turbo, to a standard 5k which ive just recently had rebuilt. Ive bought a ke70 now and i want to put the 7k turbo into the ke70 for burnout comps, the problem is that the motor over heats really easy, it has a standard 3,4,5k radiator and a engine fan at the moment, I'm thinking that obviously i should put a bigger rad in it with a thermo fan considering the motor came out of a liteace van and the rad would have been a lot bigger then the standard one. But is that the best option? is there a better way? :no2:

I have an 86 model hatch with a twinky conversion. That went all good, the problems star when I try to fit some of the other bits on: ;) The fuel feed line tank end, no thread to bolt the bracket to. The grille, its too long. I can't just bolt up a sway bar because the floor has no threads The factory strut brace, I needed to buy bolts for the fire wall, no thread. Thats just a few on my list, Does/Can anyone help me before I lose the plot all together and just torch the thing. TOTALLY ANNOYED WITH THE WHOLE THING!!!

Hi All, I'm in the process of putting a 4agze into my KE55 coupe. I've installed a T-series diff and thinking of ways of upgrading the rear suspension (hoping to use it as a road and track car). I found this thread on AE86DC. http://www.ae86drivingclub.com.au/forums/showthread.php?t=33 I'm wondering if the top mounting cup is different in size to the KE70 or AE86? does anyone know? The idea will be to use the coilovers for the suspension and just the top leef (of the original leef pack) as a locator for the diff rather than setting up the trailing arms. Comments???

Hi guys, Hoss from Sweden here. I'm having a bit of a concern. I'm the owner of a stock KE70-82 and I'm about to get some new wheels (stud pattern 4/114,3). The rims I been looking at have markings on the outside "5½ J*15 H2-E40" and the markings on the inside are "5" and "86". As far as I understand (and please correct me if I'm wrong) the 5½ stands for the width, 15 stands for the diameter and E40 for the offset. The H2 I don't have clue to what it means... And it's the same with the 5 and the 86. I don't really know the size of the stock rims I have now, but the tires are 145/80/r13. According to my calculations the tires I need to get should have th…
