hey guys ive searched the forum and i havent stumbled onto anything like this so i want to get everyones thoughts on building a drift rolla. i've got a 25k budget and a blank canvas. so what would peoples advice be on which year corolla (i like the ones around 83-86), what engine (anything, v8, sr, ca, what ever will get me sliding), suspension, gear box. everything id need really from start to finish for a sweet drifting set up. or ultimately would a different car all together be better? I'm hoping not cause i love the corolla! i just hope 25 is enough. thanks for any help

Hi guys and gals, Well I could only go so long without owning a Corolla, although to be honest I didn't expect to be back in one so soon. I've always wanted one of these, and at the moment it will suit my lifestyle perfectly. '91 AE95 wagon, 5 speed, all wheel drive, has done close to 400,000 k's and has a stuffed motor but would appear to be very original and tidy otherwise, and is still registered (Tasmania) and driving. The colour is perfect for a set of wheels and tinted windows and interior looks very clean indeed. I purchased this '81 KE55 Sedan off ebay for $660 as a donor car for my KE20 build. 225,000KM. Fortunately but unfortunately i've decided to keep the car complete and restore her to orginal condition. I'm not entirely sure of it's history but its in need of panel work, veery minor rust repair and some paint on the front left quarter and door. I love the colour... It's a 4-kc, 5 speed gearbox, which may end up in my KE20. Runs well mechanically and no smoke. bad things happen when i get bored, i have a yn85r hilux as my run around to pick up parts and so on and have been driving it a fair bit lately so ive had boost withdrawals from not driving the cressida. so i bought a wrx standard turbo off a mate for $100 and I'm going to do a blow through weber carby set up. i spent today doing half of the job so all i really have to do is make a J pipe for the turbo, exhaust and boost pipe. ive done as much as i can so its still drivable and will try do the rest next weekend. first thing i did was pull the sump off and weld a fitting in for the oil drain then i pulled dissy apart and drilled two holes and put screws in to st…

Hi, I'm Jay from Sri Lanka and I'm the proud owner of a JDM Toyota Corolla DX Wagon (KE72V-1986). My father imported this with 40,000KMs in 1989 and it's been with us ever since. It now has 141,000KMs as it was used sparingly. It has now been entrusted to me as my father wanted to sell it to make space for a new Toyota (a crappy FWD 'Belta'). We decided to buy yet another 82, this one being very very tidy for its age. The rundown: 85 model CSX. Auto, air, steer. 237000ks. Engine rebuilt at 18****ks - 10 years ago. Very clean interior. New suspension. New cv shafts. New rear muffler. New starter. New rear wheel cylinders etc. I got it with a blown head gasket and found that the cause is a corroded head that overlapped the firing ring on the cylinder, I have another head here at work so it will be cleaned up and put on. The pistons are .5 (.020) oversize and the bores and exceptional.

hey all got this a few weeks back, ke55 coupe, totally standard apart from KE35 tail lights, Was intending to use it only as daily driver, while my other car is off the road... but that didnt last long at the moment basically only concentrating on the bodywork, has a bit of rust in the rear guards/bonnet etc, was half painted in gun metal grey when i got it, an looked fairly average imo.. so got out the sandpaper & started painting it in Teil Blue, only one coat & half done at the moment, weather has been to shit to paint :(. *this is only temporary until proper respray in a few months*..trying to avoid cop attention by making it just one colo…

The 4K while being nice and clean is blowing alot of smoke under power. Can't wait to get something more powerfull under the hood. I want to build this car up as being a ae86 in granpas cardigan. So as you expect it has a 4age on the way. I also have a shed load of parts waiting to go in once I have passed the road worthy certificate. Well we got our engine dropped off today so we have started pulling her apart. going to turbo the engine a bit later in the year and also once we have rebuilt the bottom end. I'd been watching the development and release of the new Corolla and last weekend I put a deposit down on a 'Blue Flame/Eclectic Blue' manual Ascent Sport with the factory option Satnav/privacy glass/Double J radio pack.
