I'm trying to work out my speedo calibration at the moment, and I'm not sure if I'm missing something, or if I haven't been to school for too long, or maybe I'm right and my original speedo is very off. Basically, I'm assuming my speedo is calibrated for a 4.11 diff. I'm now running a 4.77. I have a terratrip, so have speed readings from that, and basically I know that in comparison to my current speedo, it reads a bit like: real speed - speedo 60 - 80 70 - 90 85 - 110 100 - 130 110 - 140 Or something like that anyway. ok got him up and running, no charge; blown fuse, no guages; blown fuse, no rear/side/indicator lights....can't find a fuse.......wtf is the other fuse box? i've looked all over and can't find it

I was wondering if anyone has ever hooked up an oil catch can to a k series engine? and, how it was done? Just a question that has been bugging me... And if it was attached, would it really be of any use, or should it just be left for the turbo cars? Thanks :((

Okie dokie. So I'm hoping to buy the damaged CSX thats for sale and would just like a little more insite as to what I need to do to transfer the motor into my KE30. Grim has told me that it will fit with the help of an AE71 or AE86 cross member and engine mounts. As to the gearbox, will I be able to use a 5spd manuel? And what would be recommended. Regarding this driveshaft. What exactly is a driveshaft? I'll search into what it is but just a generalisation of what it is will help. And why would it have to be custom? Thanks in advance.

Hey all Well, a popular question that every 1 asks (ive asked it) is "what can i do 2 my motor to make it fast". I'm not going to ask that, most of u know by now my views on my 4k :) - Anwyay this is my question. What can you do to a motor to get better fuel consumtion out of it? i know the basics such as don't drive it hard, (not that i do), don't rev it (that either) etc. Now, another part to this question is slightly differnt, i was talking to ben about it, and a bit to med_man yesterday, but what would u recomend if i said "i want a bit more power for going up hills from my stock 4k" - ben has said "longer intake runners". Hey guys, names dylan, i just joined as I'm a corolla freak. Just drove to Brisbane from newcastle to buy a ke70 and drove it 800kms to get it home. She's immaculate with only 90,000 ks. I have twin 40mm solexs and was wondering if they fit onto "redlines" twin webber manifold. they look very similar. I'm keen to buy it and hook up. thanks for any help.

Hi.. i finally found what 15 inch pursuits that have the same stud pattern as the KE70.. 4 nuts by 114.3, the hyundai elantra..i knew it was hiding somewhere btw anyone know what the actually colour is called that cover the holden pursuits?? :(( thanks for all your help on the topic before

Hai there, can anyone tell me, Can the third stage head tuning be fitted with the 2nd stage engine setup. why for this tuning? I'm try to make my 3k to able to revv high (for the drifting purpose). So to be safe with my engine (affraid it will blown), can this setup be apply????

is it a simple job of converting the ke71 to a ke70 by just replacing the panels, head lights and grill, or is there more involved structurely? Also who wants ke71 cloth seats front and rear???

My brother just gave me this weber to put on my new engine and i can't for the life of me find anything on the internet that looks remotely like this weber....it weighs in at about 2kg :D and it has 2 35mm throats..can anyone tell me what they think it looks like???....its a little dirty atm but i'm going to clean it up before i chuck it on...... OK... this may be a funny question to ask, but I feel no harm in asking? Can K50 5 Speeds put up with anything up to 200bhp? Or will they become schrapnel internally before long? Is there a contact to build these boxes strong enough to withstand more power? Could T50 innards fit inside a K50 if this being the case? Is it WORTH building up one of these boxes? I have run a sarch on this topic before asking and I haven't found anything that really answers this question... so any help on this question would be appreciate it. I intend on keeping a 5K motor in the KE55 for a little bit, if this is of importance. Cheers

a friend of mine is selling his 3t-gteu for $1000. i had a look at the motor last nite and i want to buy it the only thing is that it is spread out through about 3 sheds. up side is that it has all seals gasgets new pistons ECU everything including a spare Block and head minus internals. does this sound like a good price to pay.

Hey all Ive got a few questions with relation to the *E7* (Ke70/Te71/Te72); When you enter a car into a rally (like the one just passed), i know that you need your vehicle to have a motor that came with it from stock.. anywhere in the world. Eg. Scott's Ke70 Rally car with the 5k.. its an NZ Ke70, with a 5k. They can get around it because in Japan, one of the wagon (and sedan) models came out with a 5k = they can use a 5k! Basically, i know the Te70/Te71/Te72 came out with a T series motor, but to what i know, the T series 70's were all hatch back, 2 door things. Would the regulations be the same in that i could use a 2T series motor into my 4 door sedan K…

While up at Caloundra for Coastal Challenge and ARC last weekend, I was speaking to Tony (driver of TRD KE70), and he mentioned that he thought the stock gearbox ratios were more suitable to a 4.77 diff for rally and other similar sort of events that had a big variance in speed, and that the close ratio gearboxes were only really suitable for high speed stuff because of the huge 1st and 2nd gears. Or at least that's what I understood from our conversation anyway :) Does anyone (Rob?) have any opinions on this?

I have searched the forums and found nothing to help. (maybe I missed). What is involved in fitting the disc brakes (front) to my ke35 coupe from my ke55 coupe? The ke35 has front drums..........is there anything preventing a straight swap? Thanks in advance for anyone's helpful advice.

Got a bit tired of bulbs blowing, and went and got myself those cool LED bulbs for indicators. They look cool and all that, but... they don't quite work properly. I think it's cause they don't offer as much resistance (or maybe they don't draw as much power) as normal bulbs, but with them in, the indicator flasher doesn't flash... Is there any way to get around this?

You wouldnt believe the find i found this weekend? Went to the wreckers: HEAVEN i found a 1ggze engine, no gearbox or computer.... Me - looks at rolla, looks at engine, looks at rolla, looks at engine... 24valve straight six, supercharged! YUMO also, i found a set of k series extractors for $55.00, SWOOP! and to end the day in delight: - a 4k engine a 5spd k series gearbox and a 5k engine.... + i got offered a set a twin webbers.... WRECKERS ARE TOPS!!! :)

hey i was just viewing some of the old threads..one was about having your cam reground, i don't understand that concept fully..wont they work in reverse, taking metal away from your cam ? also do u need any other modifications if u have your cam reground ??

Lend me your collective thoughts on what could be the problem, :) My Check engine light keeps coming on, sometimes it comes when you give it a stab, it'll cut power for a split second then the light comes on and most times it goes off again. Other times just driving up the highway the light will just come on and won't go off till you shut the car down. Timing belt was done at 109,000k's (now up around 140,00k's) Oil is fine Engine temp runs around 80*c average (splitfire gauge). Could this be poor tuning?? or a faulty sensor somewhere?? Hi guys.....long time since I visited here. I just purchased a 1979 ke55 coupe and a 1980 ke55 four door sedan. My question is: can I run these on unleaded fuel ?

Did the rear end of my KE55 coupe a few weeks back, with waggon springs, gas shocks & poly bushes all around. I think the poly bushes I used were Super Pro brand. I'm now ready to do the front suspension bushing completely, and have decided to go poly again. Question: 1. How many different brands of poly bushes are there for the KE series ? 2. Are any brands beter than others, or are they much the same ? 3. What should I pay for a complete front set for my KE55 ? 4.

So, i've made a list. Lets start. Me car is a Toyota Levin 1991, AE101, with a 4A-GE silvertop 20v Quad throttle, 1.6lt. in it. Its been running really well, like really well, like... you know toyotas! but theres a few things that have been bothering me. #1 the speedo My speedo seems to be very indecisive. and the problem its self is indecisive. i've been offered a 4k and t-40 for $100 or so, the 4k with a cracked headgasket, and some smoke. they guy is going to help me put em both in. how hard is it to do an auto - manual conversion? and what can we do to the 4k for a bit more power? besides webbers?

As i am new to the suspension world, i have tured to my fellow rollaclub members for there views / susgestions on the topic! What i would like... (in order of prefrence) 1. anyone ever thougt about a pod air-filter onto a 4k-c? like it would need some sort of fabrication to the pipe that connect around the carby(cus of bonnet and it being down draught carby) then just run the pipe down near the ground or behind headlight to a fat pod and wallaa! what u think? Carl :D

hey everyone, just bought myself a ke30 rolla... only paid $100 for it.. but its good the 3k motor was taken out a year ago and replaced with a 4k and a 5spd transmission, new exhaust (tiny)... anyways is it possible to replace the leaf springs in the back with coil springs and shocks?... also wondering what i can do to make it go faster... going to get my hands on some extractors but i'll need a good carb but i also need something with good fuel economy... any ideas on what the best is? basically the whole car is stock and i want to make it better :) thanks people!, dave
