Well my starter motor was always a little suss as sometimes you would go to start it and you would here a clicking sound in the dash area but nothing, but i was told it could be the solonoid and that flicking the key real fast would get it to work, this was correct for several months, but as time when on and the flicking of the ignition continued, you would do it a few times and hear the clicking sound then it would stop, than no sounds at all and then it would not start, then if you waited 10min sometimes more or less then it would just start first go, eventually i grew sick of this and thinking it was the starter motor solonoid, replaced the starter motor, but unfortuni…

right after some info to help a fellow enthusiast out for her project... 4k heads. what ones have big ports and higher compression etc? iv heard some engines have high comp pistons and a higher comp head is around too. any ideas? i can check part numbers etc etc but part numbers doesnt tell me port sizes etc! cheers guys :D

Greetings all I'm new to the corolla world , and learning more every day, and on monday i just learnt that my little 4K-C motor had fired rings, well almost she stills drives just. So I'm gonna rebuild her just wanting to know is there anything hard about rebuilding these motors from stratch, or anyhting that i should watch out for, i've bought myself a manual for the specs and a bit of guidence anything else i need to know? should i take off my door strips? or leave them there so i don't need to wrap my car in bubblewrap when i park it....??? will it leave a sticky stripe across the panels? same with pinstriping.... whats the best method to remove 20yo pinstriping?

i just want to know..will w55 gearbox from 1g series engine fit in.. 1.20v 4age 2.4age tvis 3.4agze is it direct fit or we have to use back the t50 bellhousing? how about the longshaft?

Ive removed everything attached to the cross member to try to get it out. But the bolts that are holding it in are no budging. Not even a little, is there any special way of undoing it?

where do i go to get "midway blue" for my ke70 repairs? i mean, are there places that actually stock the old paint? or will i have to fork out endless $$$ to get some mixed up? and who is in adelaide and has done paint / body repairs before, and wants to give me a hand with some dents and painting... ???

guys,i got a friend who's about to bought one toyota 4age from ae86,complete with wiring and gearbox. to start the project,i'm sure he'll need a few parts. so,can anyone list it down? if i'm not mistaken. 1.replace all the belting..wear and tear parts.. 2. do we need fuel filter? 3.about the long shaft,can we re-use the one from k50 gearbox? 4.i think we need the cross member? right? 5.clutch pump? the whole system? 6. fuel pump or need to buy the whole fueltank? 7.how aboput steering rack,boot, the whole system? can he use back the standard? more to go...what do u guys think he need?

hey, I need some help here ( again, hehe ) I want to lower my ke70 about 80mm.. at least 40mm.. then I suspect I need new shocks and springs because they're never changed before i think and they feel pretty tired.. what should I buy? guys,i came upon one product which cleans the carb. start the engine,spray the chemical into your carb while revving your engine. my question,is this product worth it? i'm pretty sure the previous owner haven't clean it. apart from cleaning the inner part of the carb,will this product release the loss of power thru carbon built up or, it's just myth?

Hey peoples, I need some help/advice. I just put a 4k, 5 speed, extractors and ehaust and factory twins in my ke35. I have a 3k bigpot head that I am going to clean up and put on the 4k block. what should I do to the head? and what sort of cam should I go for? also how hard and is it to change the cam on a k series? any help would be greatly apreciated... My car has a Turbonetics Inc DeltaGate Mark II external wastegate. I was wondering if anyone knew if you could adjust the boost on them? http://www.turboneticsinc.com/wastegates.html#deltagate There are 2 screwy things on top. one is just a bolt and the other has a small cut off tube thing (as you can see in the picture) by the way that picture is outdated.. now the blue tubing is mostly gone. it just goes straight from the wastegate to the intake pipe. does the screw on top have anything to do with adjusting boost? i hope that made sense.... thanks guys!

i was offered a cheap price for a set of volks racing wheels,but the tyre shop owner said that the wheels pcd are 100 and mine are 114.3..so they have to put spacer to make it to my car..is this true? i'm a newbie..so please2,help me. :sad:

What was the difference in width between a TE27 and a KE20. I have bee offered a diff that i'm told is either from a TE27 or about a 74 Celica. I'm assuming from a GT. It has factory disc brakes. I'm trying to work out if it is worth putting in if I went to a 4age. I assume that if it is a TE27 one that it should bolt stright in, but a Celica one would need to be shortened (and mounts changed???) Ian.

Just in case anyone has an easy answer... My interior light (as in like, above my head, the one that makes everything seen thats inside my car except for things under my clothes) is busted. It did work randomly for a few days a few months ago, but now it just doesn't work at all. Note that I have checked both fuse boxes and its all fine. Its got dished mags and a sunroof, its been resprayed bright blue. I'll get some photos of it ASAP like when I get a camera. I also have a KE20 with a 3K and I've heard about how the 3K head has higher compression and can bolt straight on to a 4K. The KE20 is unreg and blows heaps of smoke. I want to put the 3K head on my 4K-C, is it easy? How do I do it? Do i have to bore any of the valves or anything like that or can I just chuck it straight on? Can I then put the head from the 4K-C onto the 3K block in the KE20 just for the s…

i got these carbs yesterday, and am quite curious about them. they are mikuni/solex carbs. as near as i can tell they are from a '74 RT104 GT with an 18RG. not sure if 40 or 44mm yet, have to pull them off yet. the manifold is interesting as it is modified. the guy i got them off thought it was to suit a 2L escort, but i'm not so sure. i have trawled through a few gasket books and it looks as though the manifold is for a 2T. can anyone verify? are 2T and 2TG inlet manifold gaskets different?

Hello fellow corolla fans, I own a 1974 KE25 Coupe, Which had a Low k Japanese motor put in it a few years before i bought it, i know that it is a 4K but don't know how to tell if it is a 4KC or not? Would any one b able to tell me how 2 tell which is which and if there are any differences! I have installed a new thermostat in 1993 Toyota Camry LE and there is very very minimal heat. I live in Canada Burrr. Please any suggestions as to what else could be causing this.

Heres the latest cock-up with the 5k. One of the exhaust lifters is noisy. I've adjusted all the exhaust lifters to 0.012" while its warm. But there is always one noisey exhaust lifter. I've adjusted numerous times on the compression stroke ans so on. I have had the engine running with the rocker cover off and put a feeler gauge under the tappet, which stopped the noise. It had no more clearance than the other lifters - but then i ran the motor and when i turned the motor off, the clearance on the exhaust lifter was about 1mm. I don't want to adjust the lifter again incase something is wrong. At the moment, its the engine builders fault - I'm not in a hurry to m…

After recently suffering a blown head gasket, after thermostat failed, (You may remember,wife got locked in the cupboard for a week for that indiscresion) I realised how much we all seem to neglect the essential old water system. i have an 800W 12" kenwood subwoofer, and a earthquake 300W bridged amp... only problem is, the boot rattles like a f@$king tambourine. now i've tried to silicon up all the cracked tack welds on the bootlid between the skin and the bracing, but theres still some small rattle in there somewhere. has anyone else out there got a subwoofer with the same problems? i need to fix it beforei i go red again at the next set of traffic lights when people larf at my boot. Was having a clean up in my garage the other day and came across a 3K head I'd forgotten I had. Question ! How do you tell the difference between a 3k big port & a 3k std head ? Did a quick search but can't find the answer. I guess it's only the dimenisions of the manifold port openings; but what are those dimensions. Thanks ! :)
