Hey Guys, Picked myself up a new dd yesterday. '83 st141. Running the stock 2sc but its been rebuilt 30k ago apparently. Already done a few mods to her. Put a set of Ma61 mags on an i stuck my old twinky wheel from my keto in too. Doesn't have a tacho, but instead rocking the huge clock. I have a 5" autometer tacho i could put in, but it seems a little over the top :/ The previous owner has put ma70 struts and brakes into the car, but its running non captive king springs of unknown model so I'm looking to replace those. Considering how much info is out there on e7's i was dissapointed to find it pretty hard to find anything really about what suspension i can …

Ok, so miracles do happen and I've acually picked up tools and worked on a car :o Since I bent the last one a little, I figured I'd build one properly in an attempt to actually finish a car for once. So it's been sitting in the yard getting rustier and moldy while I collected parts (plus tools) and got a rough plan of things to do. Started with this on Thursday last week Hit it with some hammers and drank a little alcohol and it changed colour a bit. This is more or less how it sits now. Overspray ʞ©$ɟing EVERYWHERE, but it's red, and that's what matters. Next, an attempt at rego. Yes Ryan, it's getting THAT engine. And finall…

I felt bad that I joined up just to look for a car for my Girlfriend, so I thought I'd start a thread on the car that made my Girl love Toyota's. She's an RA40 with an 18RC, I bought her probably 20 months ago now. I new nothing about cars, I saw them as an object to get from A to B... It's amazing how much I have changed my perspective on cars in those 20 months. I've rebuilt the engine and done a few modifications to my car that make people wonder. Well, here she is when I first bought her. Here's what she looked like after a month of having her. I used tyre shine on the rubber bumpers every weekend, and I polished her once a month =P and …

So I picked up a 1983 KE70 last week. I had been thinking about getting a car again, never had a Toyota, had quite a few old Mazdas and a couple of Datsuns. This was fairly cheap so I thought I might as well snap it up and see how much it needs to get it back on the road. It had been a courtesy car for a local mechanic. Not 100% if I'm going to keep it yet, I'm a poor uni student so might move it along if I find it needs too much. It's got a stock 4k-c which seems to run great and a 4 speed. Here are some teaser pics: Dodgy repairs under fuel flap. Rust is bottom of rear guard, pretty bad but seen worse, I sanded this back and painted…

Hey all, After a while away from the car scene I made the decision I was going to downgrade my current car (vw golf) and get back into an old reliable Toyota. I was after a clean, stock as possible looking car as I'm currently STILL on my p's. Obviously it had to be cheap to run and parts somewhat common. So my quest lead me through the forums and even onto the old gum tree where i found this. From first glance it looked a winner, Clean and cheap. But it was not until after i handed over the cash i truly appreciated how well this car had been looked after. Original papers from purchase, original manuals, handbooks, tool kit from Toyota and the receipts of work…

So..... Zowie and I did another trade, and I got this thing. Ae82 20v blacktop conversion rear disc conversion and that's about it for now. Future plans? who knows, I quite like it so I wouldn't mind pumping a bit of money into it, fixing the suspension up (Probably Bazda gear) and maybe some engine work (I guess best value for money would just be a turbo) Hope to run it on a Dyno this week, maybe look into going aftermarket computer, and hopefully if I have time ill try and get out to Wednesday Test N Tune at Willowbank to see how slow it is. Crap pictures but all I got at the moment.

This is my Ke30 2 door sedan, its my project been working on it for about a month now. i live in melbourne, Found this little beauty out in the country in victoria, called the guy got all the info and fell in love with it. so i borrowed a mates tandem trailer for a day and went and picked it up, Been a money pit like all old cars but its a passion as you all know, When i got it had a 3K and it wasn't running, missing some basic parts such as starter motor and battery. Pieced it all together to find there was a knock in the engine, as its common for 3K's to crack pistons i found a 4K for a good price and spent a day putting that in with new oil and filter…

Hi everyone. Just startin on a build on my KE 25 that i have had sittin round for a while... Its pretty scrappy but in no rush to get it finished as it isnt and probably wont be my daily. So the story goes... A kid i used to work with on his p plates used to drive it. I had wanted a ke 20 for a while but loved this when i saw it. I nagged him for a bit to buy it from him but he wanted to push it off a cliff and se what happened for some reason. I was a little pi55ed at him but kept naggin and when he told me he was doin it that arvo i gave him the 150 bucks i had in my wallet and he accepted. It was pretty trashed i think i was halucinating on the drive hom…

This is a lazy post It got rust in places and dented panels and scratches and ʞ©$ɟed up paint but thats what i want, shit box rust bucket that flies.

So now i have got some inspiration to get my old girl up and running so the mrs can use it as her daily. Now i have owned her for 4 years and in that time this car has been absolutely perfect... Its the best car i have owned. And i have owned 35 cars now and counting..... Plus i bought it for $1200 and its the third most expensive car i have bought. I love everything about the car... Finally after about a million years and way Too much $$$ I'm getting around to sharing my keto, had it for 10 years now (7 off the road) and slowly (read: snail) I've been getting bits done for the last 2/3 years. Now I got it from some old lady down south with a stupidly low 65k on it as my first car, after pretty much completely Jing it out with massive straight pipes, longchamps and 'custom' low, then in turn losing my license for 5 years the poor keto was returned to rock stock after 20k (and 2 clutches and 1 diff) and left to rot at my parents till couple years ago to be treated to the complete overhaul it deserved, with a newly installed meaty diff and hardened clu…

Hey my name is Kenny I'm from brisbane but moved to melbourne about a year ago. I thought I would post up my rolla that I got about 3 months ago have slowly been getting her ready for RWC. The 4K while being nice and clean is blowing alot of smoke under power. Can't wait to get something more powerfull under the hood. I want to build this car up as being a ae86 in granpas cardigan. So as you expect it has a 4age on the way. I also have a shed load of parts waiting to go in once I have passed the road worthy certificate. Like these Hopeing to use the experience and advice of others on this site too get a good understanding of what not to do.

About time I posted up my project daily dx. Picked up back in 2002 with no rego no warent and in need of a good spruce up. It had already been started of with a Calipso Blue paint job. Well 1st of all we needed to fix the wiring which was a mess and sort out brakes with some pads. After having the car road worthy with a fresh warrent and rego i decided to sort out the height and installed some dobi lowering springs and new shocks all round. But there was something lacking.... grunt, power, balls. After stuffing round with twin carbs to no sucsess and wasted money decided to go for the popular 4age conversion. 6 months later i had sussed out all the mai…

Hey guys, This is the very first AE82 Seca I bought off a dying friend of the family in immaculate condition and with only 160,000k's on the clock for just 900 bucks, We have had it now for just shy of 4 years and its been a great car, It now has 203,000k's and the only thing i have had to replace is the water pump x2 (1st new one was faulty), The fuel pump x2 (1st new one was faulty) and the timing belt as the one that was on it perished at 203,000k's (hopefully this one aint faulty). Only mods done to this one are: - 4age (kept auto) - Wheels (ENKEI's). - Twincam wheel. - Tower to Tower strut brace. - Tinted windows. - Audio. - Plates (her initials and DO…

Ke10 Gettin some Lovin I bought this car for my brother who has a 20 valve ke10 of the same era. I pretty much purchased it to keep for parts for him, but I kind of liked it too much and decided to teach myself car restoration instead. :drinks: Bought on ebay in 2009 still on reg. The car was originally from Sandringham Motors Melbourne it is a 1968 ke10 made in Japan with a 4 speed. It had an Original motor with recent head fitted, new fuel filter and hoses but its valves seals are worn or it has cracked rings as it blows white smoke. It was boiling when I picked it up but cleaned out the radiator and all was good. I reckon the car was recently serviced…

Seeing as this forum seems to have the highest concentration of KE10s on the internet, I figure I should throw mine in for good measure! The story starts when I drag this KE10 from the bushes in my hometown, paying about $200 to get it to my house. My initial observations: The car has been hit in the front and back with a lot of flaking bondo as evidence. The entire interior is halfway converted to dirt. Not a single mechanical or electrical component is working or even looks serviceable. The only upside is that the shell is structurally solid if not straight, and it has some extremely awesome patina. To the parts pile! My initial plan was to leave it stock an…

G'day all, I've recently brought a ke55 rolling shell off another rollaclub member, the shells in great nik, has a small rust spot on the back left door and a 1cm rust spot in the boot seal, easy fix  it has abit of crash damage to the right hand rear quarter panel which the previous owner fixed up abit, so apart from that the bodies in awsome condition :) the plans for the car: well I'm gonna start by fixing the rust spots and start looking for front quarter panels which i hope maybe someone knows of someone selling them? plus i'll need a front end such as the lights which i wanna get from a ke30- the circle ones, grill, front and back bumpers bonet etc…

Hey guys. New here. So i pick up an old rolla wagon from an old bloke last week. Car is pretty clean. He owned it since new. Anyway, plan for the car is to service it, get it running well (its a little rough at idle and splutters now and then under load, thats the reason I came here. To learn how to do fix it) and daily it. Plan after that is to lower it a little and get some nice wheels.

Hi all, Thought you might be interested in my "new" TE37 Levin. I found it on the yahoo.jp auction site, and with the help of import monster (http://www.importmonster.com.au) purchased it. It arrived in my garage in Melbourne, Australia on May 4 2012. The good: It's super straight - very little rust, original shell, dash all there (re-covered binnacle) everything is clean and tight. The "bad": not really bad... just different... The head has been changed (to an EFI "big valve") but still with original carbies, suspension has been lowered, missing the air con compressor and evaporator, no carpet. The ugly: well not really ugly... just parts that are hard to get! Miss…

Hey guys! My name is Leigh (aka Moe) and I own what was a ae82 1985 CSX sedan! I origionally bought the car as a run around back in early 2005 so that I could concentrate on my project car (XA Falcon Coupe)... But I lost my licence for 3 months and out of total bordom, one thing let to another and 2 weeks after handing in my licence I was sanding back the origional silver paint of the Corolla! The car has been thru several rebuilds since it origionally got resprayed (and currently has been off the road for 13months for biggest rebuild Ive done to it)! How it was when I first bought it: At the time, I had NO idea about the 4age motor and I spent a few…

Well after looking at some of the other projects on the site. I decided it was time to post up some piccies of the project I am about to undertake. This started it's life with my Wifes next door neighbours, they bought her new and literally drove it about 3 times a week. We got hold of it back in 1999 with an original 48,000klms on the clock but as it was used by two elderly folk, it had a few dents here and there. It was originally Dark Green / Teal colour. We had her resprayed and straightened in 2000 and that is how you see it now. in 2007 it was retired to the shed after massive gearbox and brake failure. A new car was bought and I am sad to say the old girl w…

My little KE20 has a bit of a story with me. I swapped a VR Commodore for her back in mid 2010, and immediately fell in love with her, but she had a hard life before I got her. The bloke I got it from had spray painted it dark blue with the bonnet spray painted black, endless amounts of bog, and it had mis-matched stud patterns. My original plans were to spray her matte black and put on some spotties, along with the little mudflaps on chains I'd already put on, and make it a little rally spec daily kinda thing as I live on dirt roads. But after owning it for a bit, and bumping into a tree at some point and damaging the front passenger quarter, I lost interest, and sol…

Hey people, Three weeks ago a bloke at my work liked my red ke70 and told me him and his wife owned one, etc and gave it to their daughter two years ago cause they didn't want it anymore so asked about it and he said they still had. I didn't know what to expect cause he said it was badly rusted, ball joints were worn, etc etc. So I went to the address and I was shock on how original it was. They told me everything about the car and what had been done to it and that they wanted to get rid of it cause it was costing them money, the funny thing was when I was viewing they said if I didn't buy it they were going to take it to sims. So I offered them $250 for it and they a…
