hey guys my name is Tristan i'm from SA, I have just picked myself up my first corolla, a clean ke55 sedan. Its nice tidy car bought from an old lady :jamie:. The paint work on the car is almost perfect and there is hardly any rust, the car has only done 130000kms. At the moment it is completely stock, but i have some very big plans for it. i have bought a ca18det engine and gearbox that i plan to put in over next few months. The engine also came with a t28 turbo. I'm planning on keeping the look of the car as basic as possible, and trying to get it as road legal as possible and getting an engineers certificate. Any help or tips would be much appreciated here's a f…

Hey guys, I thought Id start a build thread of my KE55. Was bought as a rusty old snotbox, but with a good interior, strong 4K, and moderately low kms for its age (159,000). Picked it up for a very nice price with 6 months registration. Originally the car was purchased as a daily, whilst My Soarer is reserved as a weekender. However, the rolla bug bit, and I have started to spend some decent coin on the beast. The project started with the intention of keeping it as a daily with some gimmicky traditional and JDM mods (220mm dildo shift knob, OMP deep dish wheel, 14" jellybeans). I left it at this for a while, with some decent 6x9s in spacers, and 4" splits in the …

Hello everyone. I recently picked up a 92 AE94. It's been quite a while since I've had a toy. Had an 88 alltrac celica 20 years ago. I've been running hondas for the past decade. Looking forward to chatting with everyone, and I apologize if this is the wrong place for a greet post. I only use my phone for the internet, and it's hard sometimes with new sites.

Hey guys, My name is Connor and this my Ke70 that i picked up a couple of weeks ago, she's a 4k 4sp with 365k-odd kms, so she is slow but it has: - King Springs 'lows' at all 4 corners - xt130 front struts, unknown shocks - xt130 LCAs - xt130 rotors - rt132 twin-piston calipers - Sigma GSR 'Pepperpot' 15x6.5 , wrapped in Pirelli 195/50 rubber So she handles very well for what it is, also i think the pepper pots look retro as. My Plans are: 1: Sort out rear-end grinding noise (wheel bearing kit purchased) 2: Deal with the rust in the boot channel, LR 1/4 panel, fuel filler area and around the tail lights. 3: Fit my just jap fro…

Well, I figured it was about time to make a project thread about my new Ke30. 1978 KE30 SE 4dr Colour: Canary Yellow Engine. Ke70 4K Trans: ke30/55 4spd Diff: BorgWarner 4.11:1 Brakes: stock Suspension: Flipped leaves and cut coils :hmm: Audio. JVC Mp3 Cd tuner. undecided 4' or 6' fronts. 6" rears. Kenwood 350watt Amp bridged to a Boss 800watt sub in an custom box. I have also fitted a late model toyota console. needs a filler section as the 30/55 K40's shifter is a tad too far forward, will make a mout and stick my tacho and make something around that. Oh don't mind the duct tape. its good for holding things tempo…

Hi everyone, Got over waiting for parts for the 30 so I thought I’d start a thread about my little project that I have had going for awhile. It started with a mate of my brothers getting rid of a 77’ 4 door KE30 and I needed something to spend my money on at the time so I bought it ready for me to start my first real engine conversion/project. Unfortunately I don’t have any picks of it as they were deleted off my old P.C but I’m sure you all know what they look like mine was white had black stockies and way too much rust to be a worth while project so I got rid of that and bought my current Rolla a 75’ 2 door I picked it up off a Rolla club member named bstjunkie f…

Hey guys, been a while since I've kicked around here. Have moved to slightly bigger chassis than the old KE's, although I still have my 7K KE25 sitting in the shed. Here's the new whip. 1992 GLX MX83 Cressida. Part GLX and part Grande interior, Grande 3.9 LSD, Camry GXP 17" wheels. Also, replacing the stinky old 7MGE head gasket muncher is this little package, Standard 1JZ from a Z30 Soarer, running standard twins, JZX81 ECU and JZX81 auto with a MV autos stage 1 shift kit. Went really well and pushed 160rwkw. So standard twins and 160rwkw was alright, did a decent skid and all... Then a little combo popped up on eBay, so I made it mine. Gar…

Hey guys, I've been lurking here a while and finally thought it's time to post a proper thread! This story starts on the 3rd of October 2016, a day before my 16th birthday. For around 3 years I was looking for an r32 Skyline until I was convinced by my dad that a Skyline was the last car I'd want on my Ps, I knew he was right so I went on the hunt for a RWD, nice looking car that had that "cool factor" So I searched for a corolla for about a week and this popped up. Started as a full granny spec ke30, everything original and on the 3/10/16 I went to have a look. Instantly fell in love and went home very happy. Came with original papers, service history and warranty! …

For pics, see my photo blog: Sloth's AE86 And pics of my two girls: AE86 vs KE55 The Story so far: My first car was a KE35 rolla (it was actually my step-dads but I basically inherited it). Me and my dad started doing a bit of work on it, but ended up buying a KE55 and working on that instead. (I've told this story many times before, so I'll skip ahead). 3 years and a couple of dollars later the KE55 was sprayed blue with white stripes, had new car, a new dash, momo wheel, sparco fixed back seat and had a 7k that had been rebuilt (and improved) with a 5 speed box. It only puts out 56rwkw, but it's a fun car too drive (sometimes too fun). She's started to …

(As with most of my ride forum posts you might want to grab a coffee/tea and settle in for a long one...) The Story As many of you know, I previously owned an 86 which had a 20 valve silvertop installed (http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/34331-sloths-ae86-project-car), unfortunately though, it was damaged beyond repair in an accident. Since the AE86 was my daily I needed something to get me around. I looked around for a while, as my previous daily was the 86 I wanted something else that was fun, something that I enjoyed driving (that wouldn't make me feel depressed as I drove to work every day). In the end I managed to find a purple 1996 Honda Integra G…

hey guys, I'm new here, and mainly here for help, on the weekend past some little person who if I ever found will wish death on themselves stole my 1970 rt80 corona, she was immaculate and I had just gotten her on the road, Good news I guess is that I got her back, ditched, with all door and boot locks smashed in, radio broken, wrong fuel put in (thanks jerk) and decided to not learn to drive before stealing, as they smashed into something destroying two ssr mesh rims and my front frill, bumper, lights ect, I have attached a pic of how she sits now. I'm asking if anyone can help with spares for this or know anyone boasting about taking one for a joyride this weekend? tha…

Hey all probably about time i posted up some of my rides. Ill start with the KE20. I started the project basically because i built a 4AGE KE55 as a daily, but then i changed jobs and now I'm not allowed to drive it to work. (don't ask.) Therefore i needed another daily. I already had a shed full of KE spare bits but had never had a KE20 before, so made that my aim. Shes a 1971 Aussie manufactured Automatic model. DAY ONE Bought it as a shell off Ebay for a few hundred bucks. Actually was in a lot better condition than i expected. But had been sitting in the weather for years. Body was straight other than a few little dings, and only rust was surf…

Hello RollaClub! I'm Danny from Southern California, I've been lurking around the site for the past few months now and finally decided to join. I have a 1979 KE30 coupe, that I purchased November of last year. So far its been a blast to drive and have been slowly getting it together since. I'm hoping with the help of RollaClub and a little elbow grease I can accomplish better performance and make it look more appealing. ;)

So I have a few Corolla projects at the moment: KE36 KE55 But this is about the KE38 that I've decided to build for one of my younger brothers, who is learning to drive. This is basically what I started with. I had removed some front end pieces, the grill had been broken, there is a little rust around the usual places, it only had a block sitting in the engine bay, but overall it looked too good to scrap, and worthy of being restored. Engine bay to begin with Engine remainder and 4 speed removed After a quick brush down Ever get the feeling you're being watched? No point respraying the entire car without doing the …

So currently residing in my home country of South Africa for a while. Of course my current demographic area will change the options of classic cars compared to Aus. But Corollas , this place has plenty ! The great thing about finding/hunting for classic cars in this country is that we have large cities inland very far from the sea's salty breeze and humidity. That is where this story beginnings in a city called Pietermaritzburg. I posted an ad on our local Gumtree looking for Corollas,Datsuns,Cressidas and boy was i offered some nice stuff, 1200Gx, Mx32's, and many many Ke70/71s but one stood out, A Red Ke70 , 1 owner from new , and paper work and I mean ALL …

Well look who can't get rid of the Corolla bug , ME ! So as you all might know when I sold my Ke70 Ghetto Sled (http://www.rollaclub...street-fighter/) I literally sold a peice of my Soul, wont lie it was quite a emotional day week and now seeing it get passed around like a whore and people claiming my work/pride and joy as theirs is not a great feeling. So then I bought the Mr2 Aw11 was a fun car and was a joy to drive and own, but I just could not love it as I did the ke70 ! After selling the Mr2 they were many options on the table as what i wanted and what I could afford , from R32 with Rb26 , R31 Wagon , Aw11 4agte (200Hp), Wrx , 200sx, LOTS MORE ! ...I final…

After owning my white 4age ae82 and loving it , I sold it for the same amount I bought my new Red Lebo spec 4agze ae82 (2500). I had previously raced my white one around Barbagello and was 6-8 seconds off the Wrx's and Evo's, I wasnt loosing that much time in the corners even tho I didnt have semi slicks and was suffering badly from body roll ( kingsprings ) , on the straights however is where is was losing huge chunk of time. So hopefully this will counter some time lost on the straights and when coilovers, sway bars go in will be quicker in the corners. Starting to slowly un-leb it Intercooler went black for my stealth New Oz-racing wheels …

Hey all Many of you already know me from my previous Ghetto Sled Ke70 and everything inbetween. I'm happy I'm back in a ke70 corolla and always told myself I would only come back in a wagon/van, well this weekend I finally found a decent one to restore with minimal rust as it was a car from inland. Reason for buying this as I want a cool project for summer (get me away from gta5) and my E30 chews fuel going from work and back . Style I'm going for is the old school 80's but with some touring car features as I will be doing 2-3 hour trips to race my kart around W.A. Things I'm chasing -Quads light and grill -Work Equips Mk1 -Chrome F…

So after me selling my pride and joy ke70 this is what I ended up with Toyota Aw11 Mr2, Mid-engined, Rear Wheel Drive.. 90000k's on the clock Pretty average body work with some rust, Its been sitting in the weather most of its life..but shes from 1984 so could be worse. Picked her up for $3750.. Which I thought it was reasonable. Going from a 4k to a 4age is Wow ...I don't have to keep my foot flat on the floor to keep up with traffic! When driving it home it just felt like it wanted to get up a go. Love the centre console, only has 1 stalk behind the steering wheel for turning very clever... First thing is just to give her some loving. - Give engine a clean …

So after my fail attempt at building a datto 180B only cause parts are harder to find than a 16year old virgin, I decided to buy my self a little rolla. Before buying did some research and fell inlove with the Ke70 model, watched a couple of vids on the YOUTUBE an seen Grant sliding his and that was that! Even tho I'm not a big drift nut, I still appreciate it and see it as more an art then anything else and a loooove the styling, I'm personally more into the time attack/ A-B racing tho. So less chit chat and lets see some pics! This is when I purchased it for a wooooping $500, probally paid $499.99 to much but I couldnt be bothered! Body was pretty rough…

This is how it was when i got it: Then we chopped the springs, painted the stock rims black and found some wheel trims, haha: Whacked some jelly beans on it, And now brings me to this stage. Just had all the rust cut out of my car and professionally primed. Ready for me and a friend to paint it in 2 Pack White. Painted in a fresh white today, needs a buff still, but came up pretty good considering the conditions of work and the area surrounding. also the people painting, props to my mate mick for doing m…
