  4. Hey guys i have a k-50 "short shifter" ie- lengthened throw sitting in my garage. Just wondering what sort of places would be able to fabricate a spacer plate for it, if i were to provide them with both shifters so they could measure the difference of course. Would a standars metal fabrication place do it?? or would a mechanics be able to figure something out? Any help appreciated, thanks!

Hi there guys As the title says I can't for the life of me find this LEAK!! It's a ke30 4 door, I have tried the torch test, the hose test and I can't find reference to it being a common problem? It only comes into the two side compartments (where the jack is), not the wheel well, and once it's in it stays there til I empty it. The only time it leaks is when I drive in the rain, not when I wash it etc, so I'm thinking there are joins that open up under pressure? The real killer was last night I got home, the compartments were full and yet there was no water trail anywhere (dry dust where I thought it was coming from :bash: ) I see only 2 options-Go crazy with sikafle…

Hi guys, I've had my project on another forums for sometime but I need some more indepth help. I purchased a 4AGE for my KE70 today and have so far worked out that I have a bigport head on a 7 rib block. All I am wondering is there anyway to tell externally if its a 2nd gen or a 3rd gen? I'm pretty sure both 2nd and 3rd are 7 rib blocks? Also pretty sure that 3rd gen came with oil squirters? Many thanks in advance, I'll leave some photos.

Hi, I was just google-ing on the net and found the site http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_K_engine#3K about toyota K motors. It says here that the 4K has 60HP and the 3K made 68HP. I am about to install a 4K into my car so by going on the information on this site I am giving my car less power. But Some sites are usually wrong so I wanted the opinion off this forum on what has more power stocka dn an exact value if soem one has one. Cameron

okay, So i have a 4k out of ke70 down the back that i was thinking of rebuilding for just a reliable daily motor that can reach the speed limit in under 20 minutes :P :D but when i pulled it apart it was erhhh ahh knackered. :( So i've been all the threads about 'K' motors on here about turbo this supercharged that but i couldnt find what i was after. What I'm asking is which of the 'K' motors would be bet suited for a daily? I.e fuel consumption, parts, reliabilty and with a bit of power when needed.. :( I have the ability to get either of the motors but I'm unsure.. :hmm: btw: mods would just be 5 speed box, extractors, lightened fly…

Hey guys, bit new to this.... I'm sure the answer to this is really simple, Ive done a search and haven't really found a definate answer.... I'm wanting to put corona struts/control arms, etc in my KE70 to better my suspension and to eventually do the Hilux/Peugot brake upgrade. What I need to know is what model corona do I need to get the parts out of for them to fit? Is it just XT130? or 131, 133, RT142? Theres a xt133 at a wreckers near me, would that have all the parts I need? or do I need xt130 specifically? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dave.

Buying a ke70/ae71 for a daily for a little while with plan's of a 20v conversion down the track. I know the ke need's the ae x-members, clutch etc for the swap. what other little difference's will there be suspension wise diff wise etc? when I go to nicer struts, brakes, steering and whatnot does one have better setup brakets or stuff that needs to be fabbed down the track that will catch me out? any years better than another for this regard? 35. Yo diggity... I pulled the headers off my porsche motor and noticed white deposits in most of the exhuast ports. There was also some buildup on the back of the valves. Take a look at the pics. Anyone have any idea what this might be? I've never seen it before, but i assume it's something to do with lean burning, similar to tuning by sparkplug colour. Just to add to this, Porsches were fitted with smog pumps that pumped fresh air into the exhaust ports for emissions. Burns off any unburnt mixture. If you look you can see a shiny new hex head plug where I've blocked off these ports. I've only just fitted these plugs, prior to that, the actual brass piping was st…

Hey, I'm looking for some old school style tyres for my rolla, but don't want to pay $300 a tyre and wait 3 months from "Antique Tyres"... I'm not interested in getting whitewalls painted on my current tyres, because I want the old school shape and tread pattern of the classic tyres. I'm also not interested in those white wall flapper things, the look terrible. So does anybody know anywhere else I can get some geniune whitewall tyres from? 155/R12 to be more specific. Thanks. Ok, before you guy's start flaming me I'd like to explain myself. I'd like to take my car to a few track days and learn how really drive a car sideways in a safe environment. I'm from the northern suburbs of melbourne and the car ( RT142 corona) will be pulled off rego in a few weeks. I know welded diff's are dodgy and break easily but I'm not about to go and spend big bucks on 2 ways etc at this stage on a first year apprentice wage. I've researched the internet and asked around for people who can actually weld a diff and no luck so would any of you guys know of somebody that can weld my diff in melbourne?

  40. Hey all, going 4kc dizzy on a 4age smallport, and I need to know the measurements from the base of the shaft (ha) (where it contacts the head) to the top of the dizzy gear. IIRC I read somewhere that the gears for old and new 4ages are slightly different, so don't know if that would effect the measurements, so please if you do measure the distance to the bottom of the gear as well as to the top of it ;). Going to try get a late model smallport gear from a toyota dealer or something. Shitty 4ac blew a headgasket, so it looks like it's 4age time lol. Also, swear I didnt type that thread title so retardedly. Hax.
