hi guys I'm a 16yr old teen i live in New Zealand.. I'm wanting some advice on wether to rebuild the 4k in my starlet or drop a new worked 4k or rally 4k in..?? the 4k in it at the moment apparntly hase a race cam..but not sure if it actually does as you can usually hear.. and its running allright at the moment but the previous owner said it has i worn big end bearing.. I'm wondering which would be cheaper and better..ether replace with worked 4k or rebuild the current 4k.. if i was to rebuild the 4k currently in it i would want to work it so it pulls hard for a non turb 4cylinder 1300..does anyone have any advice on what are some good things to work on the …

Hi all, I have a 1989 F reg AE92 GTi-16 with the tvis 4age. I'm 14 and the engine is coming out in a month for an overhaul that I'll be doing myself at home to get some of the horses back. Its done 81k miles and I have purchased a TRD 20% uprated Heavy-Duty Clutch, Ashley Exhaust System and a GREEN Power-Flow Twin Cone air-filter, which will all hopefully get me to 140BHP There is a lot of rust on the offside front arch and the nearside rear arch and on the struts inside the car, but I will be getting it sorted soon and will then have it resprayed in white. I picked this up from shepparton victoria this morning after buying it off eBay for $610. It drove the 3.5 hours almost flawlessly. Lets see, It appears to have some type of king springs in the front they are yellow and new, new shocks. a 2" sports exhaust, it sounds really really good, except it drones a little at 95km/h. a 5k, unknown mods, goes like a shower of shit compared to any 4k I have ever driven, stock carby, ke70 radiator. Needs a new diff I think, something is grinding in the back end, it I think is a stuck brake shoe, or f*cked bearing, will see when that comes. 1st gear syncro is shot. will crunch if not put back into first very gently. …

Hi guys, just thought id post up some pics of this old girl its a Ke17 sprinter in need of some love that has come our way. Its a 1977 ke36 van with a 3T 1800cc engine with Carmira fuel injection headers 2 inch exhaust 5spd box ta22 rear axle LSD ta22 front brakes. Body is in fair condition for its age. Also came with a turbo set up but not interested in it. As I have a 3TC fuel injected turbo engine sitting in my garage that I will put in for a bit of fun. Howdies all, names David, nice to meet you. Recently got my hands on a KE70, it wasn't planned, more so a compulsive buy. The opportunity was sitting in a wreckers yard for the fine price of $500. It wasn't defected, and i have a sh*tload of time on my hands, so i figured why not. Bought it, trailered it home (no rego or plates) and its sitting in the backyard. Since then I have begun fixing the rust, and sanding her back for a respray, she's coming along nicely. Here's a few picies....

hey guys picked this up off a mate for nuthing has a buggered water pump housing and thats all few lil rust spots in the back above the rear right wheel arch and on the bonnet got bored waiting for a water pump housing to thought id do a bit of touch up paint painted the top of the engine and radiator lol looks ok just need to clean her up has genuine 130000k`s on it so I'm happy for nothing tell me what u think cheers ae pig

As Ibought her for $350 from this dude in Ipswich, Had shagged suspension and rust in the boot. Rust has been cut out and plated, and i fit Monroe GT gas struts in the front. About to get dropped on lowered falcon springs rear and commodore springs front. And trying to decide between konig rewinds/ superlites, or five point challenger rims.. Any suggestions?? Well here is my shitbox. I bought this KE70 from a kid up in byron bay... was pretty rough when i bought it. Was fitted with a silvertop 20V which ran like shit, had a welded diff, dodgy as hell falcon rear springs, bald tyres inflated to 8psi, shagged rear wheel bearings, sloppy steering rack... and a few other awesomeness features. After deciding NOT to drive it back to sydney - i had it brought home on a truck. well here is my 75 ke30 as i got her almost a year ago now, it was a 2 speed auto stock as a rock and slow as hell, but i have since changed it to a 5 speed from a ke70 and chucked on a weber dcoe 40 side-draft now it can keep up with traffic just! The plan is bolt some flares on dump it and charge it, most of witch i have done more pics 2 follow

thought i should put some info up on my build. it wasnt easy to find pics and stuff so i thought this might help ive got heaps of pics to up load cost.... engine, auto box with cross members and every thing $800 manuel box $150 but may need a new one from rotary shop $700 custom engine mounts and cross member and the headers fab $600 this is all so far. fare bit of hours though cutting old mounts out ie ill put pics up soon any question ill try my best to answer

Hey all, Relatively new to these forums but I thought I would post up a couple of photos of my KE70 project. It is a 2 door conversion from a 4 door. It’s had the B-pillars moved back about 200mm and the front doors extended to suit. Just picked up the wheels for it this week, I had them sandblasted and then powder coated at my uncle’s powder coating business and polished up the dish and I think they come up Mickey Mouse. Only got the pair for the front so am trying to chase up another pair for the rear, slightly wider ones. It’s going to run a S13 front end with a SR20det with RB20box and R31 diff. Howdy folks... Well, it's been a while since I posted last, but this should make up for it... Presenting, my new acquisition... (the one on the right) Story: My Mate noticed this by the side of the road in Eltham a couple of days ago. Went up to have a look, had a drive, made the bloke an offer, and presto...I am now a RWD convert.... The good: 5k, 5 speed No bog All exterior fixtures complete minus 1 ke55 headlight bucket... Unsure of build date, haven't had much time to look at it yet! Got the ke10, a ke11 and a load of parts on the weekend. It's a rolling shell that came without an engine and gearbox, and, as far as I know, everything else is there. It just needs to be put together. So the plans are: - Give it a good wash - Get a rubber kit for it and put the windows in it as soon as possible, to stop it becoming waterlogged. - Whack everything else back in it! :bash: Planning on putting an uprighted 4K, downdraft webbers and a t50 in it. It's just a standard ADM AE86, bought it off ebay for $1500. It needed the left quarter panel welded back on and other bits and pieces to make it drivable. My dads mate went and picked it up for us cause he had a month of work and wanted something to do (win for us) Ended up getting it November last year and it was on the road late January this year. We had some trouble with the gearbox/engine but finally got it fixed. The 4-AC we had in it went through oil faster then petrol and blew a lot of smoke. Now it has got some black 14x6 Superlites on it and we got a replacement 4-AC and rebuilt the engine and replaced the head with a stronger one. It runs perfect now, h…

Hey all, I have been looking around asking dumb questions for long enough I thought I should make a contribution to this wonderful site. Here is my 1980 Toyota Corolla Ke55 with a 4k and 5 speed manual. This is how it looked when i got it and I drove it this way for a few years. Then I became obsessed and started doing things..... Got venetians and put nicer Ke30 lights on. Ahhh ... much better.... Then painted window surrounds black and got some 40 dollar steal rims to replace the stockies. They look great.
