  1. Started by Moetunes,

Had the car nearly 5 years and it wasn't 'till this year when the cv's needed replacing that I bothered to do anything with it. Replaced the green/blue/gray(what colour is it!?) original dash top with a black one from a POS seca I bought for the factory alloys 'cause there was five of them. Changed the gauge faces and added a clock. The rear window wiper wasn't working so I shaved the back. I've tried a couple of different front bumpers, still not quite happy yet... In the near future I'll put in a 7AFE bottom end bored out a bit with a new exhaust, shave the vents on the c pillar and lower it a bit. Eventually I'll have to do better than a "20 ft pai…

Right so my Sprinter needs some paint and panel to get it up to where I would like it. I have spent far too much on the running gear for it to be sitting in the shed while I get that sorted. I have been looking for a neat AE71/KE70 to put the running gear into. I have had a couple of close ones where I was just a little too slow with the coin but maybe it is all for the best. Picked this up during the week, local car with only 141,000km. Little bit of surface rust in a couple of places but the normal spots that are bad for rust in these are clear. Will have to track down a cross member and pedal box but other than that I it should be a goer. I gave it a wash and a…

this is my 1981 KE70 panelvan, bought for nearly nothing off an elderly man. had no modifications apart from a crappy immobilizer that eventually shit itself in the middle of nowhere with only a screwdriver and a pair of pliers to bypass it... also it got defected about a week before the rego ran out, but its all been fixed awaiting a vehicle inspection. this is a photo of what it originally looked like just with black stockys have since done only visual mods (just until it passes inspection {if it passes inspection haha})

For those of you that don't know me personally I not so long ago picked up a cheap ae92 (or Holden nova) as a daily for my partner but after some discussion we decided that we would wait to get something abit newer so after trying to sell it with no luck and my ke70 track car being nowhere near completed I decided to turn it into a budget circuit racer to keep me amused till my ke70 was done and then pass it on to my partner to get her out on the track.. It was quite sad and run down with 300,000+ kms on the clock filthy interior stocko 13" steelies and more water leaks than a sivve.. So after replacing the water pump, welch plugs, hoses and a badly corroded thermostat ho…

Hey guys, thought id share with you a project I've been working on for the past 3 years. It all started when i turned 14. All i focused on at that point was that i could get my driving license in less than one year. So at the time my old man thought it'd be a good idea for me to get my first car and do it up a little in time to get my learners. And also get to know further about cars etc. So i hoped on trade me and started my quest for my first car. I looked at multiple options as my first car starting at honda civic's (yes i know, wtf was i thinking???) right through to Subaru impreza's. After not having much luck in finding a cheapy, as only having an after school job…

Hey all, I've been hovering around on here for a while and thought it was about time for me to start contributing. I have a few corollas including a ke55 and 2 ke70 wagons but thought I'd start with the one that's being worked on now. Picked up this AE112 from the wreckers at Wacol, it just has a light tap in the front, hoping to have the front damage repaired this week and get it ready for paint

Well a mate offered it to me and I got it on the cheap. I love it that much that I'm selling my xr6t that I bought as my first "modern reliable car" Due to unreliability and not needing another "weekend car". I then bought another one automatic with a slipping auto unregoed for $200. I've been working on it the last three weeks and I think it's turning out quite nicely. It owes me $800 all up including buying both cars as I found a lot of goodies in the shed. So far I've done, New shocks (in the shed monroes) Cut springs (ordering kings) Put a set of impul rs mesh on it that I found through my wheel piles a lot better nick then i remembered. I started off buying a white slanty 4age ke70 from SA, left Melton at 5:30am, drove to the other side of adelaide and then drove this corolla back with no heater & a locked r/h/f strut for 7 hours at 4,200rpm. It was standard bodied on 14 inch cressida steel wheels. I cut the springs and fitted a set of rota grids & cheap china tyres then it looked like this. Went drifting with it Decided I'd have a go running it around Winton with my friends in their r33 gtsts, Best time of the day first time ever on the track was 1:52.4 Was hooked on racing so I started to get into any track days I could, I completed a second winton track day, only thing I ch…

I've had this little seca for something like 18 months, It gets the daily duties while the wagon and the torana hang out at home. wagon: Torana I've had/built 4 or 5 AE92/3s in the past 6 years, so when I needed a cheap car to leave at the station and drive the freeway in, decison was pretty easy. Picked it up like this, Freshly rebuilt smallport 4AGE, new clutch, new CVs, etc etc. Would later turn out some dodgy things had been done, but nothing major. photos don't show how rough the body is, theres rust in the front screen and lots of "whoopsie" marks around the body, someone colourblind must have tried to touch up the pa…

Hey blokes, this is my first old Corolla finally replacing the Classic Toyota hole left in my life after the Ta22 was stolen. It's a 2TGEU (yes EFI!!) 1976 Ke35 hardtop. Was owned by an older woman for the most part, rebuilt by her husband 10 years ago. It then went to some teen for a year and now it's here. Bought as a daily while I am finishing my not as classic ae86. In pretty decent condition overall, needs a tune and maybe a wheel bearing but that's about it. Thankfully almost no rust. I hate rust. Sadly its on stilts already due to my front Ssrs not fitting, but when I get the wheels on I'll get some better shots. Initial plans are fender mirrors, chin spoil…

Hey guys. This is my little '77 ke30 sedan daily drive - Shiro-Bōzu. The name is Japanese for a white spirit. I felt the name to be pretty fitting. I'm the second owner of the corolla, the first was an elderly lady who'd had it since new. The car came with every single service reciept including original purchase papers and only had 76xxx genuine k's on it at the time I purchased it in 2011. It currently has 91xxx on the clock. I also swapped in a low km 4k engine last year after the old faithful 3k decided to part ways with reliability. I got a little carried away, as we all do....and started modifying it with some basic mods. Probably not the smartest …

Hello, I'm new to this. I have a 1989 1.3 GL Corolla, I am doing a 1600 twincam engine conversion and stripping the car down fully and getting a full car respray. I am buying another car for the conversion , hopefully get one cheap thats been hit or the body work is bad in 400 - 600. If anyone knows of any let me know. The car is white and I'm getting it sprayed a glossy black. I'll keep post photos until I'm done.

Also, moving into a new place with a personal workshop which means I can take the whip off the road and give it some major lovin' The body is pretty clean, but the interior and everything else definitely needs work. The boot is leaking a bit of water, motor is leaking oil from the rocker cover and then some. The whole motor and suspension is a hackjob done by what had to be a blindfolded monkey. If anyone has any tips or advice would be muchly appreciated

  23. Just picked up this one on Friday, the ol' girl had to come all the way from Queensland, but the price was right so it was worth it. It's an old 1980 liftback corona, rt132 model, always been a fan of these lifbacks. This ones got a vinyl top too :y: It's had a supercharged 1g-gze from a imported Chaser Advante front cut, 5 speed box from a ra60 Celica, power steering rack from... (can't remember right now but will update) and it goes hard! Engine bay needs a good clean up, and body could do with a full detail.

Funny isnt it how you get rid of one project, say thats the end of it for the moment and then you suddenly have another one about to enter the driveway, almost! Afraid there are no pics yet but went to visit an uncle last week and what does he have sitting in his paddock (literally) but what I believe is a KE26 2 door van, only disappointing thing really is that windows have been added to the side van panels and the fact that they are rusting around the panel edges. I can't really confirm a lot until I get it home but its a 3k 4 spd manual, complete and suppossed to run,was running when parked up many years ago.It does of course have other rust but I don't think it is too ba…

Would like some suggestions for hot wheels for the KE18 (pics welcome). So far all I have done in the past 10 days is clean the shit out of it and polished the chrome (Cut and machine polish next weekend). Ordered a new OMP steering wheel and quick release. Hello everyone. Just invested in a new daily while I take the ae71 off the road. Its an ebay special, 90,000klm RA60 ST 2.4l 22RE Auto. It has air con and seems to be in immaculate condition. The auction has just ended and I'm anxiously waiting for the seller to contact me. I can't wait to go and look at it for the first time. I'm planning only a manual conversion and a full service for it. If the tyres are good I'm not going to change the wheels, Ill just have it buffed and tidied up and maybe headers and that's where the mods will end. Should be a magnificent daily while I'm finishing the ae86. I don't think I'm even going to lower it. Pics from the a…

hi guys, bought myself a fairly tidy ke20 with a t50 4age conversion. has rust in the usual places but nothing too serious running stock brakes and diff. have decided that i want the project to be a little more ballzy than the 4age so am going to put a ca18det in instead, due to the stronger gearbox, easy power upgrades and cost and ease of finding parts. have the car stripped right back at the moment doing bodywork ready for a respray. will be converting to ae86 coilovers in the front with and a shortened r31 diff up back. going to keep the interior as stock as possible .
