hey all I first bought my ke55 off ebay, it had: -a new blood orange paint job -2" lowering blocks -no engine -no locks -no side windows -half a loom The plan was to have a nice ke55 daily driver that was nice to look at and reliable. I have bought 6 new auto meter guages which i am making a new gauge cluster out of. The gauges include: -Speedo -Tahco -Water Temp -Fuel Level -Oil press -Volts I am also taking out the ignition and replacing it with a switch for accessories, a switch for reds an…

Hey all, been many years since i've frequently visited this forum, can't even find my original login details! I used to get about in a 3TGTE powered (and then 4AGTE) TE72 way back when, which I busted up when the tailshaft snapped at speed. I saved the driveline out of the car, and went in search of an AE71 panelvan, specifically because it was significantly lighter than the sedan, and didn't have to worry about a back seat for the eventual plans to fit a rollcage. A mate spotted this under a gum-tree in a suburban backyard, a deal was made, and the huntsman and gumleaf infested beast was sitting in my garage. After a cleanup and some SSR wheels: Anyway…

Long overdue (can't believe i forgot to put it up here) is my current build, after my disappointing attempt to go fast in a fwd 4agte propelled vehicle that saw me track it for the first time and within a week have it stripped down to a bare shell with the motor in the spirit. Nayways, onto the more interesting stuff, Car is a 1984 genuine ae71 spirit lil rough around the edges, just as i like it. Came with the original 4ac of doom with probably close to 400,000kms or more, hard to say due to the rear diff ratio being changed to 4.3:1 Drove it on and off while i was sorting out the fwd death trap, eventually it just stopped getting driven as i sorted all the …

Picked this beauty up for a bargain(thanks again Dougie) drove it down from redcliffe for a measly $650 with the help of my brother (chillin). as I got her: 1981 ke38 wagon, 4spd manual, whiny diff over 60, few dints and bumps, little bit of rust, no stereo, dull paint. classic ke. The car hasn't been registered for 4 or 5 years but has been in regular use carting wood around the block, and I'm hoping to drive it home (from the Barossa - usually 1 hour but will take at least hour and a half in this thing) on the weekend after a service and check-over. Gotta love SA rego laws  just hope the clutch holds out - apparently it slipped with the last load of wood (although uncle reckons he had a 1 1/2 tons of wood on it!!!) Hi! My Name is Chris and I live in Austria. I am addicted to oldschool Toyotas and my pride is my 84 MA61 Celica Supra (which is one month younger than me): I have spent last year a lot of money to let other people restore it, but I am not really happy with the result, so I want to do it myself next time. Before I start that, I want to learn how to do all the work on another, more simple car. This is why I bought a KE70, and here it is (pictures are not from me, will be updated as soon as I pick it up): Of course It has a lot of bad bits, this is why I have bought it. Even the dash pad is great (this is rare out here in the country as the horrible summers get to it. Here's my story. I bought this one owner, high mileage 7AFE 5spd AE102 wagon back in Oct 2008 with plans of doing a swap but not the typical 4AG (ZE/20v) swap. It's my grocery getter / daily driver so my choice of engine would have to provide good low end torque without boost & have balls for passing as necessary. The only engine that met my needs in a FWD application was a redtop BEAMS (197hp / 152tq) from a 1998+ Toyota Celica SIII ST202. The engine was purchased in Mar 2009 from JDMSource out of Calgary, AB. The swap was done in Apr 2009 entirely by my good friend Adam from AMT Machine Shop which took a total of 9 business days! The rest shall we say is history…

Paint is all original and it still has the original K 1100 motor in it. Seats are already at the trimmer to get repaired ( bottom of the front seats and top of the rear seat ), will give it the big detail this Sunday and then down to the panel shop Monday to have the dent in the boot and rust in the right front guard done. Going to change some things in time to come. So far replaced the carburettor, the spark plug tube O rings, gave it a bit of a tune up. Runs a little better. Off now to replace the gasket on the back of the head its dripping coolant, replace the spark plugs, change the thermostat. And another re-tune.

Hey, I'm from North Carolina, just picked up a 1983 wagon and I'm ready to start work on it. I am a bit confused about the suspension on these cars as far as interchangeability goes. The rear is leaf spring, but is the front the same as all e70's? I'm still confused by all the chassis designations. It seems people like to run ae86 coilovers up front, what all parts do I need for this conversion? Mainly just wondering what springs/shocks I can use really for a budget setup in the front, thanks. I'll get some pictures soon
