I am buying a redline manifold to suit weber/dellorto 45m carbs, the linkage kit they are telling me to use is for a weber's when i have dellortos. Does anyone know if they are the same, the salesperson "thinks" they are the same but isnt 100% sure, don't want to spend the $260 to find out it isnt so any help is much appreciated.

Hi guys, I am currently building a 4k with a single sidedraft dellorto,does anybody know what i should do with the vacuum advance line from dizzy? ...and will it run correctly without it hooked up? any help would be great!

first question can a 4af carby manifold fit on a 4afe i can get a manifold to run twin 40 dellorto carbs or a manifold to run a 32/36 can i use my standard cable and linkages?? or do i have to go custom what else would i have to do besides plug the injector holes (leave the injectors in i have been told) to run carbs i don't like ecu and don't want to buy a standalone i can tune and maintain carbs easily and can get as many carbs as i want practically free thank you for your time regards Harry

if i have 45mm dellortos can I choke and jet them back to run on a mild 5K???

Hi All, I am looking at modifying a 4K motor to put in to a KE30. But I see when people put the 3K head on the 4K motor it goes to 10:1 CR. With this do you guys have to use high octain fuel or do you use the standard pump fuel? Also in morris minors they had a water mist injection to stop detonation. If we use a CR of 10:1 could we use this set up so we only need to use standard fuel if we don't want to or can't afford high octain unleaded at 98? Cameron

Hello all, I am currently rebuilding a pair of DHLA40 carburetors for my new engine and I came across a problem which I thought I'd throw up on here to see if anyone knows the answer. One of the carbs has at some stage in it's previous life had the butterflies removed and when I bought them (ebay) the brass screws that hold them in place were missing. Now, I've been searching in town for replacement ones however I can only find people who can order in Weber items, not Dellorto. My question is, are the screws that hold the butterflies to the shaft in a DCOE weber the same/interchangeable with DHLA carbs? I don't have access to a DCOE carb, so I can't compare myself. …

I'm having alot of trouble, a mechanic i took it to couldnt find it and has done plenty of 4age conversions etc, also ecu's i have a 4ac ecu, that is from an older model 4a engine yeh? please really need the help look on net and find people using motec and haltech ecu's but mine isnt turbo'd or supercharged

People, I'm reassembling my KE70 5 Speed and I'm at the stage of putting the Reverse and Fifth back in. can someone direct me to detailed diagram on how to do this as the workshop manual sux!

Hey all, I know this is a little bit of a strange request, does anyone have the original workshop manual for a ke10 and does it have the chassis component breakdown (exploded view). The Car I am looking at has some rust in a couple of area whihc I would love to look at the body structure BEFORE cutting the car. Any help would be appreciated. :dance: Secondly I am sure someone has it somewhere but I have not found too much is the wiring diagram for same above mentioned vehicle. Hi, I happen to be reading some where on the net that the old KEXX series corolla was released with a diesel motor in it. I was wondering is this true and if so are they rare to pick up? Also does anyone know if the liteace that used the K series motor ever came with a diesel motor if it did can we place this into our corollas if they didn't have a diesel motor from the factory? Hey Lads, was wondering if anybody had done a diesel to unleaded conversion using the existing diesel tank. now obviously I can source a new tank but I have thought about cleaning it and re using the same tank. Can anybody shed some light on this? is it a bad idea? what should I use to clean the tank? Thanks in advance!

Ok I'm starting to think about how much more this stocko diff will take once I get the weber on and then the 4K hybrid later How much have you had success with and what are easy replacements. I would imagine RX2-3s would fit not too bad...but I really don't know alot! and LSD or mini spool wouldnt go astray too!

Righty-o. Brought diff center in to Diff Lapping today, Steve took one glance at it (wasn't even a big glance, if I had even blinked I would have thought he didn't even look) and the verdict is, in very technical terms: "mate, it's farked. Can't do anything with it, you need new gears" So yes, picked up a spare diff yesterday, don't know what ratio (forgot to check) but if it's the correct ratio I'm hoping to use those gears with my "LSD" center. Cost to swap gears at shop: $60. Spoke to someone today about swapping the gears, they recon it's a "piece of piss" job, and that as long as I'm using the same gears together (ie pinion and crown etc) and I torque it …

Ok guys I have a AE71 Panel van and I'm wanting to put a 4A motor in it once again. *Bought it rolling* Will a 4k with 5 speed tail shaft and diff from a wagon meet my 4a with 5 speed to the same length from box to rear wheel arch? and is the diff ratio compatible? Thanks in advance

hi guys iv got a ke17 sprinter with a 20valve conversion and i desperately need a diff upgrade just wondering if anyone has done this and witch diff is strong and easy for the conversion??? also id like to keep the same stud pattern if possible..... any help would be great thanks...

Hey guys, I have a car i'm getting through rego and the diff is leaking between the housing and where the centre mates (Banjo diff) Basically i'm wondering if anyone knows of any sealant i can use as a temporary measure to pass pits and stop/ slow the leak? It only needs to be a temporary fix as once i can drive it i'll be putting it on a friends hoist and fixing it properly. Was wondering how sump sealer would go? Any ideas would be sweet, Cheers

was wondering whats the shortest diff i will find as far as stock rolla items. and would most models bolt straight up into a ke36 pano?

OK, I am getting sick and tired of people talking up welding there diffs and so on so heres a simple explaination for you all, there are there MAJOR types of diff setup, open limited Slip (LSD) Locked. OPEN: simply where its easier to turn the wheels the power will go. E.G you are turning a corner and the outside wheel starts to spin, all of the power will go to that wheel, so your car will slow down as you have NO power to te ground. LSD: A limited slip diff will try to distro the power evenly between both wheels, E.G you are turning a corner and the outside wheel starts to spin, The diff …

hey guys, was just reading thread "new rims on my ke70" and noticed that his left hand rear wheel was rubbing an the guard, my ke70 has been lowered and it does the same, the wheels all have the same off set, is it from the five link rear end, is there a way to fix it cause it is slowy cutting into the tyre, besides rolling the guard. :y:

So a few days ago, the diff just locked up as i pulled out of a street. Felt like the hand brake had been applied. Then it unstuck itself once i restarted the car and everything sounded fine so i drove it home. This morning it happened again while on a light corner and now its definitely stuffed, bad noise and feels like its unbalanced... Is this a common when the diffs get abused? I'm assuming I'm going to need a new pinion and center?

can some1 plz tell me what gear ratio there is in a ta22 diff and also a standard ke30 diff?

The 4:1 ratio in my KE17 is way to short. Looking for a bolt in replacement thats about a 3:7. Otherwise what ratios can yoy get for a KE30/55 rear. Any advise would :) be greatly appreciated!

Hi, i have a completely stock KE20 and am looking at changing the diff ratios and putting a 5 speed gearbox in. At the moment the car is revving its guts out doing 100kms and i want to do some long distance driving in it and travel in 100km zones every day. What would be the best diff to put in and what car will i find it in? What car can i find a 5 speed gearbox in that will bolt straight into my car? Thank you Daniel

Hi Team I need to replace the oil seal in my 6.7 inch T series diff. How necessary is the SST to remove the companion flange? Any advice would be appreciated. I have the SST for the seal itself. But the SST 09557–22022, or 09557-22021 are NLA I will also need to replace one in another diff, so if there is a specific tool, i'm happy to buy it.

Hey guys, I've been reading a lot of the posts on here and this site has been extremely helpful for me during my build but now I'm in need of some advice. I had a R31 wagon diff housing that I have made custom mounts for and bolted it into my KE70. Fitment wise everything seems okay. The diff housing is pretty bare except for the pinion gear which was already installed. Today I tried to fit a diff centre from a R31 sedan (with a mini spool inside) but after fitting it using the spacers and bearing caps (from the same sedan diff) the diff seizes and will not rotate. If i loosen the bearing cap bolts it reduces tension and with the help of a big lever bar i can get the c…

hello all, I'm thinking of putting a ca20 pintara diff in my corolla because iv heard good things about them (strength ETC) . i was wondering if that would be extremly difficult and would i get away with a deeper in wheel and rolled guards ( I'm talking about shortning the diff) . and also are the axles in them good? because I'm going to be running a mini spool :doh: i no I'm a cheap bastard :laff:

My ke70 has developed a rather annoying diff whine, had it up the hoist today and removed the backing plate there was a bit of backlash/ delay when spinning the driveshaft, the spider gears looked a bit shagged but all teeth were there pinnion and crown looked ok, few things I would like to know a) what's the most common bearing to go in a ke70 rear end, axle bearings or pinion bearing as my whine is continuous even while coasting which are symptoms of both bearings, b) if it was from the slack within the spider gears would welding them together stop the whine? Any info would be great.

I was wondering what is the difference between a 4k an a 4k-c, is it to do with the emmission controls i realise it may be a stupid question but i don't know alot about the k series. I'm wanting to know cause i have a 4k and I'm able to get a 4k-c engine manual. any help would be geart cheers

Does anyone know what the differences are in KE20's over the years 1970 -74. Mainly 1972 - 74. I am looking at buy a 1972 and a 1974 as a pair but would like to know the difference. I have heard that they changed Grills, tail lights and front indicators in 73 but was that it? Thanks B-rad
