I just got some 14x7-9 for the front on my ke70, the bloke said they fit stock guards but I just want to make sure before I get tires on them. Cheers for any help! *EDIT. He was selling them as +0 but when I went to get them they turned out to be -9 but he still insisted they fit.

Hi all 1983 ke70 1.3 4k Engine. the fuel gauge is erratic, when I fill up the gauge reads 3/4 never reads full and if there’s roughly 1/2 tank it will sometimes read nearly empty. Is this an issue with the Ke? Appreciate any help. cheers Max

Have a set of rims lying around, Delta meshies 14x7 not sure on offset.... Maybe around 25ish?Any way I trialled them and this is how close they sit to the shocks. Are they to close? Was thinking of 165/65r14 tyres for that stretch look and to keep the tyre wall away from the shocks.

  8. Ok so, A little while back i did an electronic dizzy conversion on my ke70, (which ill actually write up a guide for due to the internal ignitor) and ive made my tacho not work anymore. Everything else on the cluster works fine, lights gauges etc. I was wondering if in the engine bay however there is a tacho wire that runs to the coil thats ive cut through at 3am by accident weeks ago. If anyone could provide assistance through pictures, ill owe you a crisp high five Cheers ~Ethan

Hi All Just a question about the rubber tracks that the window slides up and down in. Are they model specific or are they for lack of a better word, available by the meter off a roll? Thanks for advice

  11. hi folks Has anyone tried these ebay ones (aisan copy?) are they are any better or worse than the orig? I have just restarted my ke70, which is running rough, it had sat in storage for many years. After some checks I believe the carby is the problem. It ran fine when i last drove it, has 200k on it. I gave it a good clean which helped a little but noticed the accellerator plunger no longer squirts fuel. It runs ok at higher revs, but wont idle and dies when the choke is off... I could either buy an overhaul kit (approx $60) which may or may not fix the problem, or for about $135 i could get an aftermarket one, but I would like some feedback firs…

  12. Hey guys, New to the forum so just a lil info about me; have a 1983 KE70 wagon, standard 4k with a 5spd k50 box. Diffs been welded since before I got the car and whilst the welds have lasted well over a year, they recently decided to break on me! Now I'm in the market for a new diff centre. Now I'm not going to lie I don't know a lot about ke70s, and I'm really not sure what diff I have or what diff will fit. I just want another centre that will slot straight in. From opening up the back cover I saw some markings that said 4.11 on the diff so I'm assuming that's the ratio. One of my mates said he thinks Toyota Corona centres should slot straight …

  15. hi all How about toyota 3sz 1.5L into ke70? 3sz comes with toyota rush, terio and new litace as RWD/4wd, Complete motor alongwith origial transmission from terios/rush/litace into ke70. Easy on spare parts as parts common with 1sz and 2sz available in vitz/passo. besides, seems to be one of rare modern factory made rwd from toyota these days. Did anyone try?

  16. Hello Some time in the future, I plan to get a Corolla Ke70 as a first car. After some searching, I luckily found one swapped with a 4AG-E Blacktop. Being someone's frankenstein, many parts will definitely be refurbished or replaced with a help of a friend. But one part that concerns me the most. The T50 gearbox, as everyone knows, is fragile and ages horribly. Due to this, I want to replace it with another trans as soon as I get it. But this time, not a T50 again. I found a transmission adapter that allowed me to connect the 4AG-E to a W58 transmission. This, along with a bunch of W58 transmissions being sold for ~$480 is quite a deal. Here's the link: htt…

Hey guys so i got my KE70 on the road now and have discovered a few faults 1. The parkers/dash lights fuse keeps blowing so i need to find the short in that part of the wiring. Are there any common faults to short for this part or anythings i should look for in particular? 2. I tried putting a 20amp fuse in a 15amp fuse slot (yes I'm a dickhead, i now know that) and fried some of the wiring in the rear loom section, ive attempted to redo this however have done the fuel gauge section wrong. Has anyone got detailed photos or a wiring diagram on how the connector block to the fuel sender (under that plastic black cover) connects to the rest of the loom? ie. what colo…

  25. Hey guys My rolla has been running almost a month now, now I need your help, about three days after I got it running on the road it stalled on me, got a friend to tow me home, got home gave it a little push start and everything was fine. two weeks it did the same wouldn't turn over after over fuelling but this time I did not even drive far from home not even 5km opened the bonnet pulled the plugs and they were all soaked with fuel. spoke a "yard mechanic " he told me the carb needs to be set, timing and points and condensor has to be redone. well this cost me about my left nut as he was not as cheap as i thought, last week it did the same to me again dead plu…

  26. Hi guys. V long time no post! Sold my old KE70 sedan years ago to travel for 3 years, now i'm back and this time I'm planning on an amazing KE70 shaggin wagon. It seems that KE70 flat front panno's have a different style of flat front to KE70 sedans. Does anyone have any knowledge or experience converting these to dual headlight? It seems that quite a few panno's have had this done to them by swapping the fenders and bonnet to flatfront KE70 sedan fenders and bonnet. Is this correct, are there any pitfalls or issues connecting this all together? Is this the only way or easiest way it's done? Quite a few Aussie panno's have this done to them. For example this build…

Seems the car starts and stays on if I hold the key forward a little from the on point but then I let it go and it aligns on the on position it kills the engine. Does this with no ignition installed or with the starter switch unbolted Got a new starter switch from pickapart and same issue Any thoughts ? Have tried realigning the starter switch to the ignition barrel and no change Tried taking the ignition barrel out and starting with a screw driver but the switch doesnt start far enough forward :S

Hay people i have a 4AGE 20V silver top in my ke70 with quad throttle bodies i have been using the uni filter foam air filters but they keep on getting sucked into the trumpets and tearing the filter, i have been talking to uni filter Australia they reckon the filters i have are not suited to my car but the spring fits perfect not to big or to small. so i was seeing what different types of setups people have, if you could post a picture of your setup that would be awesome. cheers guys

So i figured i should check and replace my brakes. ;) now after replacing all round brake shoes and linings, Master Cylinder(as it was leaking by the connection to the booster), and new brake fluid, bleeding the brakes ect. I found that my handbrake works 100% but my brake pedal is not? now after bleeding about 1 liter of brake fluid through the system until the fluid that comes out of the system is as clean as it when in at all four bleeder screws, the brake pedal is halfway up and does not hit the brake switch not a problem but there is no…

  34. ke70 toyota corolla 1987 I've seen alot of topics on this issue but my issue is about reading the diagrams and wiring too the earth points? I can't understand them at all and I'm pretty sure its the earthing or the switchs around the steering wheel. So first the headlights stop working and we tested the loom and the bulbs and nothing seemed out of the ordinary then we took the fuse box out from besides the peddle and noticed it had water residue and had rusted a bit inside so we took it apart and cleaned it up. We plugged the fuse box back in and this is when every thing went A-wall, I decided it may have been the fuse box so i bought a new one but it had exactly …

Hey guys Recently purchased an 82 Corolla. After picking it up drove it two hours to get home and all went well until the last 2k or so. Every time I slow down to a stop it pretty much stalled. Once Id re start I had to have full choke just to start it even tho the engine was warm. Spoke to the previous owner and he said it may have been the fuel filter as it was due for a change and that it had not been driven for 7 or so months. Suggested it may have kicked up a bit of crap from the bottom of the tank when I filled it up before the drive home. Went down and got a new fuel filter today and swapped them over but its still doing the same thing. Its fine s…

So I'm looking at these WRC cars and thinking.."They bear no resemblance to stock models, the tyres sit halfway out of the guards which makes life soo much more stable!" ..and it popped into my head again as I sat at Great Western Wreckers going though seven 20 drums containing thousands of wheel nuts.. "Why", I hear you ask. Because when you have alloys with flat faces they need shank nuts. ..and 90% of the world runs 18.4mm diameter shanks on their wheels, but my 6x14" Cheviot mags I bought there a year or two back have 17.4mm shanks!! Not only are they like hen's teeth to find, but half the 17.4mm nuts have the fine Nissan pitch, not the coarse Toyota pitch!! …

Hey all, I have recently come into possession of an 1984 model ke70 and the starter motor has seemed to have a pretty hard life and has decided to give out. So now I'm chasing a starter motor for it, I have called up all the local wreckers and haven't been able to come across anything except an ae82 with a 4ac. I was wondering if the starter motor off this would fit my 4k or would even the internals swap over into the 4k starter motor? Thanks for any help

I know that the wiring will need to be adjusted for the headlights and indicators, saw that in the FAQ but what about the hole for the lights?
