Ok, so the project really is in its infancy and to be honest, will probably take a shite load of time to complete, but here goes anyway. Firstly, the most burning question is going to be WHY THE f@ck would i go 3K??? Simple. Cams put a 1.7 capacity factor on for anything super /turbo charged and i wannted something Turbocharged (as one of our company divisions works with turbos) and wanted to run somewhat cheaply, hence i wanted to be in the under 2L class. So backwards configuring, 2000 / 1.7 = 1176cc, so the capacity of the 3k at 1165 is as close to perfect as you could want. Further to this, some people may know, that from a certain Cubic capacity, you'r…

Ok, so miracles do happen and I've acually picked up tools and worked on a car :o Since I bent the last one a little, I figured I'd build one properly in an attempt to actually finish a car for once. So it's been sitting in the yard getting rustier and moldy while I collected parts (plus tools) and got a rough plan of things to do. Started with this on Thursday last week Hit it with some hammers and drank a little alcohol and it changed colour a bit. This is more or less how it sits now. Overspray ʞ©$ɟing EVERYWHERE, but it's red, and that's what matters. Next, an attempt at rego. Yes Ryan, it's getting THAT engine. And finall…

I decided to buy my Girlfriend, Amber, a car. She had always talked about her dad owning an AE82 Corolla Seca when she was little that he called the BLAT. I thought it would be nice to get her a Corolla the same model as the BLAT she loved so much... I found this one on gumtree, It was located in Mt.Bryan. Me and my brother went for a cruise down there in the Celica, It was a lovely drive =P Anywho, When we arrived we checked it out and made sure it was a good runner. Started up great, no knocks or noises, Went into gears more smoothly then my Celica. Sounds awesome for a little 4AC. We had also never seen that colour on an AE82 Seca. Got it home and serviced …

So..... Zowie and I did another trade, and I got this thing. Ae82 20v blacktop conversion rear disc conversion and that's about it for now. Future plans? who knows, I quite like it so I wouldn't mind pumping a bit of money into it, fixing the suspension up (Probably Bazda gear) and maybe some engine work (I guess best value for money would just be a turbo) Hope to run it on a Dyno this week, maybe look into going aftermarket computer, and hopefully if I have time ill try and get out to Wednesday Test N Tune at Willowbank to see how slow it is. Crap pictures but all I got at the moment.

So i just recently got heavily into cars after buying this 81 KE70 from a work mate, only got 183,000km on it, runs well and I'm keen to keep modifting it heavily. It is pretty heavily molested but that the way i like it and I'm planning on chucking a 13B in there then later puting a custom gt35r on. This is a lazy post It got rust in places and dented panels and scratches and ʞ©$ɟed up paint but thats what i want, shit box rust bucket that flies.

Hey guys, So last night i was thinking about building a track car, so i started looking on here, ebay and gumtree. Sent a few people messages, woke up to a few replys. Found a guy on here with a free ke70, texted a mate after by 11 o'clock we had a free car trailer lined up. We hadn't seen photos or any thing we knew it had no diff gear box or engine. We joked around saying it will be overrated an all shiny. Haha but that didn't happen it was spray painted and looking like shit in away, tail lights where tinted. started having a look around it it was straight had hardly any dents and only slight rust spots. we where going to take it either way but its worth saving. It i…

I thought would post up a few pics and links about my car. Some one posted about it two years ago, and I have been lurking here ever since. I have been working on it since 2006, and the car is finally pretty much done. The summary is that it's a 1975 Corolla body that was in horrible shape when I got it. It was so rusted that I cut the firewall and the entire floor out. The shell sits on a chassis that I built to to hold the front and rear suspension from a Lexus SC400, powered by a V8 from the same donor car supercharged by a M112 from an SVT Mustang, and backed up by a T56 from and LT1 Camaro. Every bit of work required to do this was done by myself in …

I have owned this for a while now, I'm the second owner. I bought it of the original owner which was a sweet old lady that kept my number for somewhere around the 10 year mark. Car has no real rust in it at all, only very minor surface rust on the front of the car which look like they were caused by stone chips. It has a dent on the drivers front guard, and the vinyl is average. But for a one owner 67 car, I'm pretty happy.. WIll not be doing anything to this. (seems this plan didnt last) All I have done is add the Venetians and the 14"s. Getting my spare interior retrimmed to suit and will get the dent fixed. She looks beautifull though. n…

So now i have got some inspiration to get my old girl up and running so the mrs can use it as her daily. Now i have owned her for 4 years and in that time this car has been absolutely perfect... Its the best car i have owned. And i have owned 35 cars now and counting..... Plus i bought it for $1200 and its the third most expensive car i have bought. I love everything about the car... They are so addictive. The engine is great, i love the shape, the performance and e…

I felt bad that I joined up just to look for a car for my Girlfriend, so I thought I'd start a thread on the car that made my Girl love Toyota's. She's an RA40 with an 18RC, I bought her probably 20 months ago now. I new nothing about cars, I saw them as an object to get from A to B... It's amazing how much I have changed my perspective on cars in those 20 months. I've rebuilt the engine and done a few modifications to my car that make people wonder. Well, here she is when I first bought her. Here's what she looked like after a month of having her. I used tyre shine on the rubber bumpers every weekend, and I polished her once a month =P and …

gday all this is my new ke30 which i bought off dpb (daniel). reason i stopped the ke55 build was i came to a stall and needed brake lines handbrake lines fuel lines hard lines, all the shit which i couldnt be stuffed lookin around for them n would probably cost me abit to buy them new. so yeh ive got the ke30 which is a 4 speed auto with a 3k, the autos slippin gears though which isnt a problem coz I'm going to put a 4k manual in, the bodies in pretty much great condition only rust ive seen so far is around the boot seal which wont be a problem to fix, and a little bit of surface rust on the roof which i sanded back last night and sprayed primer over for the moment,…

So finally after about 2 years, work has started on my 74 ke30 I initally bought the car off here as a long term project, with a massive build in mind of a 3sgte beams, 6 speed etc. but after not doing anything at all for 2 years, getting into a better position financially work has started with the assistance of my housemate. picked up a 4agte a couple weeks ago and have torn that down mostly and looking into rebuild kits (didn't need it, just peace of mind). so far have pulled engine, box, front struts, and diff. most of the car was apart when i got it with the majority of interior parts there, there is very little rust which I'm happy about, 3 small …

Ke10 Gettin some Lovin I bought this car for my brother who has a 20 valve ke10 of the same era. I pretty much purchased it to keep for parts for him, but I kind of liked it too much and decided to teach myself car restoration instead. :drinks: Bought on ebay in 2009 still on reg. The car was originally from Sandringham Motors Melbourne it is a 1968 ke10 made in Japan with a 4 speed. It had an Original motor with recent head fitted, new fuel filter and hoses but its valves seals are worn or it has cracked rings as it blows white smoke. It was boiling when I picked it up but cleaned out the radiator and all was good. I reckon the car was recently serviced…

I am deadset farken hopeless. I lasted maybe a month before I bought another car to go club racing lol.. Saw this on ebay a few months ago and was keen but the timing was poor, however its popped up again this week so I snapped it up. It does officially break the "only three toy cars" rule at home, but I think its cheapness has let me sneak it in. The basics are its a 1986? (I will have to check that) Ae82 Corolla Twin Cam hatch. Someone clearly loved it and spent a lot of money on it at some point in its life. Has 20 valve conversion, reportedly done by Toyrolla Spares. Its very neat from the brief look I have had over it. Painted Ford Blueprint blue…

So here's my first AE86. I've had KE70's and a T18 before, but not a hachi. So it's either a Dec 83 or a Jan 84 build (not sure) zenki Levin. Bought it for $1400 full of holes where rust had been cut out. It had no panels on it but came with everything minus a drivers door. The hatch that came with it was cut to bits so I went and got a TRD one with no rust for $200. Trailered it 300kms home pulling it with an R30 Skyline (that only overheated once through the hills) and left it overnight still strapped to the trailer. The next day I started just bolting stuff on, seeing how it all looked so I can decide on a paint colour and start welding/sanding/priming. …

I was meant to get an auto AE71 as the mrs car was going to be taken off the road for a freshen up but this came up cheap so I decided to get it and fix her car up over the xmas holidays. Basic run down: AE71 spirit, 281,000k's, full collection of log books (including the toyota phillips book) and receipts (last 10 years anyway. 4a & T50. 13 x 6 -0 4 spoke wheels (not sure if dragway or not as I haven't looked) aswell as 4 stockies. Cut springs as well as a spare stock set. Bunnings warehouse garden lip. Has rust around the rear end, broken tail light and a missing gutter strip as well as a torn base on the drivers seat. Hey my name is Kenny I'm from brisbane but moved to melbourne about a year ago. I thought I would post up my rolla that I got about 3 months ago have slowly been getting her ready for RWC. The 4K while being nice and clean is blowing alot of smoke under power. Can't wait to get something more powerfull under the hood. I want to build this car up as being a ae86 in granpas cardigan. So as you expect it has a 4age on the way. I also have a shed load of parts waiting to go in once I have passed the road worthy certificate. Like these Hopeing to use the experience and advice of others on this site too get a good understanding of what not to do.

Well after looking at some of the other projects on the site. I decided it was time to post up some piccies of the project I am about to undertake. This started it's life with my Wifes next door neighbours, they bought her new and literally drove it about 3 times a week. We got hold of it back in 1999 with an original 48,000klms on the clock but as it was used by two elderly folk, it had a few dents here and there. It was originally Dark Green / Teal colour. We had her resprayed and straightened in 2000 and that is how you see it now. in 2007 it was retired to the shed after massive gearbox and brake failure. A new car was bought and I am sad to say the old girl w…

Hey all, so I've had this rusty snot box for about a month now. Bought it stock as a rock as a daily to replace a ST162 white lightning, cost $700 with 6 months rego just put on. Not much to say about it, its stock as a rock with as you probably read 642 000kms, not a typo, that works out its been around the world around 15 times haha. Diff is very noisy, the bushes in the rear are all but non existent so the back end feels like its alive and has a mind of its own, and tie rod ends on the front are shot. Good bits: Rust, (aside from what you can see in the rear quarters) there is very little rust, none around the windows/doors and very very little in the boot.…

Hey people, Three weeks ago a bloke at my work liked my red ke70 and told me him and his wife owned one, etc and gave it to their daughter two years ago cause they didn't want it anymore so asked about it and he said they still had. I didn't know what to expect cause he said it was badly rusted, ball joints were worn, etc etc. So I went to the address and I was shock on how original it was. They told me everything about the car and what had been done to it and that they wanted to get rid of it cause it was costing them money, the funny thing was when I was viewing they said if I didn't buy it they were going to take it to sims. So I offered them $250 for it and they a…
