Hey Hey, On my way home today i was driving my 4wd in a lane that was ending and i had to merge right. I indicated my intentions to merge right and a E series falcon speed up and took the gap. I had to either cut her off or go up the gutter and into a power pole so i cut her off and merged right, I didn't have enough stopping room to brake and stop so i made my choice. Who is at fault ? Me for cutting her off or her for speeding up ? She swore, screamed and carried on. Also took a photo of my car as i was watching her in my rear view mirror. I kindly flipped her off whilst she had her phone out. Des ;)

Last week whilst in Peter Robinsons workshop, this little gem grabbed my attention. Its a fully restored and customised KE10. Bright green paint, similar to kawasaki green. All chrome work is immaculate. The interior has been reupholstered with sporty seats in the front. The rears have been treated to grey and white leather. New carpet on the floor and a clean install of an MP3 headunit. Its in Peters workshop to get treated to K50 and 5K transplant. Obviously the pedal box will be replaced too. The most amazing part of the story, is that the bulk of the work was done by a dentist in his spare time for his young daughter. The bloke obviously is talented in…

i bet that topic got ya all excited. but alas i have been given a 69 KE10 rally spec. and by rally spec it has bonnet pins holding down the bonnet skelton as the skin has seperated from rust ( that was a suprise first time i opened it) it has flat rally tyres with chunky tread but cracked up sidewalls. it has a stripped interior except for seats and a steering wheel which apears to be rally spec of its day. it has a bolt in alloy (i think) roll cage.it is full of old stuff. parts, tools, old glass oil bottles with the big metal spout. some acient type writer ( i hope this is worth somthing) no keys so can't get into the boot yet. most of the hanging panels have rust but…

Ok everyone, interested to see what is the most popular corolla on this site. If you are wondering what generation is what, I have used the list on wiki as a guide and it goes something like this.. First generation (E10) Second generation (E20) Third generation (E30, E40, E50, E60) Fourth generation (E70) Fifth generation (E80) Sixth generation (E90) Seventh generation (E100) Eighth generation (E110) Ninth generation (E120, E130) Tenth generation (E140, E150) Also post up your choice and a brief reason why. Have fun :)

Hey guys, I've been thinking about this for a while now. When I had my orange KE20 for sale a few months ago, a guy came to look at it with his dad. The father told me that these type of whitewalls are in fact illegal as they cut out part of the tyre to do them. Now I have had whitewalls or redwalls on various cars over the past two years, and have known many, many cars with walls done by the same bloke and have had no problems with SAPOL at all. What are your thoughts on this, and has anyone else heard the same thing? Cheers, Ben.

I'm considering going for a mechanic's apprenticeship, I realise every one of the apprenticeships would be different, but does anyone have any good/bad things to say about taking it up? I understand the mechanic trade is currently a flooded market. a post open to any comments on the topic :angrybird:

Hi all. I've recently bought this car from a previous owner. I noticed from the time I saw the car that it seemed to have an older style than I would expect for a 2002 vehicle. Also older features. It has no central-locking, power-windows only at the front, rear seatbelts had to be installed by the previous owner, no intermittent wiper feature. I'm trying to figure out some things about the car (unfortunately I didn't get an owner's manual from the previous owner) but so far I get the impression that the style/appearance of it is definitely that of an older corolla (seems to be somewhere between 93-97). I guess this is the norm with reconditioned cars. Is there an…

Ok have looked at two tercels today ,mainly chasing a tseries diff centre.I have seached forums but seems some controversy as what series diff are in these things. :hmm: Ive read that there a y series,s series and a r series got me stuffed :bash: or also a large axle t series. The first one i looked at had a 3ac north /south ,AL25 not sure about trans because the id plate was unstamped. Had look at the rear diff looked like t series, but i guess could be any think. The second one was also a tercel but with a 4afe engine ,trans code ES7F5834 as best i could read it,but nothing to suggest t-series. It also looked very much like a t series. Any one no any th…

Article No 1 Article No 2 Hmm, I wish I had an account with RallySportMagazine... What a weapon, I knew it was fast, but I didn't know it was THAT fast. While I was at Mt Buller someone told me about it and I thought "umm... yeah, right". 750hp, ~50psi of boost, 0-100 in 1.9 seconds on slicks, 0-100 in 2.1 seconds on street tyres... Bloody hell!!! It didn't do very well though, I think it broke on one of the runs. And even if it didn't break, it still wouldn't have done very well. Alistair Bye (in the Sherrin Hire GT3) pretty much beat him in every single run... And it was less than a minute faster than Iain and I in the Mini (which is a MUCH slower ca…

The Girl's KE70 runs stock 4.5JJx13 rims, which in theory should have tyres up to 165 profile. Actually we're running 175/70s as I expect everyone does. The suspension is slightly lowered in the nose and it has a fat sway bar in the rear, with stiff rear shocks and stock wet struts in the nose. The tyres are Falken Sincera and Bridgestone Turanza, a pair of each, and can best be described as 'adequate'... When I fit the 14x6 alloys with a 15year old set of Falken FK452s on, the grip is much greater and the steering sharper. Sadly the suspension & steering noise, the steering kick and the wheel bounce are also greater, so those rims sit on the Datsun 1600. I'…

I've heard so many different rumours about rwding a 3S engine that it's hard to make full sense of it. Some people say to put an oil drain on the back of the head on the inlet side, when all the drains are on that side anyhow anyhow. I really wonder if all the fuss is just about people who didn't increase the volume of the sump, ran without a windage tray, and didn't put a baffle on the pickup. The factory 3SGE sump has an integrated factory windage tray and when the spot welds are drilled out, slots into the 2S sump with minimal fuss. There's a baffle right next to the pickup in the fwd sump hiding under the windage tray too. Compare it to the 2S sump and it has…

We finally got out 4AGZE AE92 back on the track, this time fitted with a Bazda (aka Barry) supplied Wilwood brake upgrade kit bought from here on the forums. We used to burn a set of pads out, right back to the metal after the 4th session at a Winton day. This time with Barry's kit fitted there is still over 50% left and it was a stinking hot day and we thrashed the brakes at every corner. The stopping power improvement was so massive I'm still trying to get my head around how to drive the car now as it stops so dam hard. I've also been annoying Barry with constant braking questions and he has been nothing but helpful and really responsive everytime. So if your thinking …

People (Ben especially), I got the following screen/s in Firefox when I went to go to rollaclub. Also when I went to rollaclub through Internet Explorer my antivirus program (ESET Smart Security) is quarantining the following file: http://blamesllek.comBREAKLINK/folder/tmp/des.jar Reason: Multiple Threats. Has someone hacked the site and put in some malicious code? Maybe people may want to virus check their machines.

Hey guys any chance that someone could help us find somewhere that has 54mm or possibly just a couple of mm bigger flexible fuel filler hose. I'm located on the gold coast in labrador and have already tried today super cheap auto, repco, autobarn, global auto spares, flexible hose supplies and gibbs trucking and accessories but have had no luck. Flexible hose supplies only have 50mm and 57mm in a hose that if it has alot of pressure on it where i bend it the fractions that i need it bent it could make a bad situation worse :) Any help would be muchly appreciated Cheers tom

*******STOLEN******* Please be on the lookout for the wheels pictured, they were taken from our workplace (Road and Track) on Jan 2nd at 11pm, police know who they are as a neighbour disturbed them and got the rego of the vehicle and police also took a blood sample found from when they cut themselves on the fence. Now the problem is is that the Police can't find the wheels so it isn't a 'theft' and apart from the Simmons, these wheels are almost impossible to find. Details are: B45 simmons, commodore stud pattern, 1 may still be separated. Enkei 13" wheels, 4x114.3 stud pattern, only took 3 15" Compomotive centre lock race wheels, very very rare …
