Hi, I have been reading Rollaclub threads and buying off the forum for a few years now, so I thought I'd see what you guys thought of my little weekend toy. It is a 74 Ke20 sedan. I bought it with a crap load of rust, no motor or box but set up as a motorkhana car. I have had it scince 05/06. I bought it with the intention of building a street weapon with a 4age turbo 300hp ish. The body work took untill 2008 with it spending plenty of time untouched. Motervation was hard to come by when you know how much you still have to spend and with the "ecconomis crisis, I could have bought a completed car for less then I still need to spend to finish mine. I got as …

Hay guys just picked up my new ke20. I didn't have the heart to cut up my wagon so I bought this. It's still a one owner car. It's pretty clean with 64000kms on the clock. Plans are either 13bt or sr20det. Still working out a few things but the aim of the build is a super clean street car. I am pulling the 3k out this weekend with the auto if anyone would like it come take it for free. I already have a set of coil overs for it, hopper stopper front brakes with ford 5 stud pattern, a Hilux diff and a 13b fitting kit that my good mate fabed up. First thing on the to do list is the trans tunnel, bigger inner wheel guards and I want to cut out and remove the spare wheel tub f…

I wish......... 1GR-FE ... oneday after the KE10 Beams is done Swapped my Datsun 1200 for a overrated little KE20. Well the plans for it are simple... just clean the body up more, find some overrated stock front seats, peal the sticker bomb off the dash, paint the dash black, find a good condition dash pad, fix all the instruments... Best modification so far was Air horns and twisted the window washer to the side to squirt people haha!

I recently aquired a 74 KE20 to use as my primary track car while I finish a few other projects. It has already been extensively modified and mod plated for everything which is the reason I bought this particular car. The build specs as I bought it were: 3TC Bored and Stroked close to 2L TRD cam, twin webers, fixed timing dizzy T50 with trd close ratio gearset RX2 with mazworks LSD, 4 wheel discs, hydraulic handbrake 6 Point cage, seam welding, buckets and harnesses Rays 3pc meshies Mod plated for all of the above in QLD in '95 The bloke I bought it off was a dodgey prick though, and despite my only condition on buying the car that it be a 'nothing t…

hi guys, bought myself a fairly tidy ke20 with a t50 4age conversion. has rust in the usual places but nothing too serious running stock brakes and diff. have decided that i want the project to be a little more ballzy than the 4age so am going to put a ca18det in instead, due to the stronger gearbox, easy power upgrades and cost and ease of finding parts. have the car stripped right back at the moment doing bodywork ready for a respray. will be converting to ae86 coilovers in the front with and a shortened r31 diff up back. going to keep the interior as stock as possible .

Fully seam welded, *special* 4agze with $3000 race ported head and custom 283 degree USA billet cams, adjustable wheels, SC14 charger, very strong presure plate and organic clutch, the perfect T50, custom tail shaft, vl pump, racing recliners, new carpet, new dash, new roof lining, AE86 struts with RA60 calipers and vented rotors, borg warner panelvan diff. 2pak metallic blue with purple pearls. I am hoping for 12s, as I ran these cams in another SC14 ze (in a ke70 panelva…

Hi guys i recently sold my Legnum VR4 twin turbo V6 wags blah blah blah. Got over it to be honest. I have been wanting a ke20 corolla for the most part of life :blinks: just never got around to it... Till the perfect one came up, its had all the major work done :blinks: there are still a few bits and pieces that need to be done, such as the roof lining, the guy i bought it off told me that all i need to do is take it to someone to have it done, but I'm insure if it needs an insert or not before putting the lining on :blinks: so if someone could please clarify this that would be great. It also needs to have the parcel shelf done and maybe another few bits and pieces. …

Hey all, i bought this KE20 from a local forum member, I intend to restore it back to as close to original as possible. I repaired some rust and panel damage in the engine bay and have painted it D3 Bamboo, i sourced a stock 3k and toyoglide etc, good radiator and stock exhaust. Everything has been installed back in the engine bay as close as i can remember to where it would have originally been. I found a bonnet and guard from another forum member and now have the car on the road. It drives awesome and is even better on fuel. I will need to rebuild the brakes soon. I have enough paint to do the entire car and i plan to gradually prep it panel for panel as i drive it…

Hey all, Figured I'd start a topic on RC about my schools personal project for year 10. My father, brother and I are currently commencing the conversion of our 4k, ke20 2-door corolla, A.k.a, RKE 020, from a 40mm delorto carb to EFI. When it started life it was a bamboo coloured 3k 2-door ke20 with a 2 speed auto box.A 4k was then put in it and also a 5 speed manual box keeping the existing diff gearing. The 4k was by no means stock, we built it with a lumpy camshaft with 109 degrees lobe separation. Double valve springs were also added so that the valves would work properly with the extra lift of the cam. Next step was a single 40mm Delorto carburettor for better…

Hi All, Just thought i would inroduce myself and my project for the year. Just updating my KE20 to a better body and make it in line with the rules for Classic Adelaide & Improved Production Racing. My Dad and I have done the classic 5 times in a 1969 KE15 sprinter and it was time to change up to the 2ltr 3TG option. The car is getting a blasting internally at present and then the paintwork can start. It has already been issued with a CAMS log book so i can compete in the IPRASA rounds as well. Will keep some updates coming when things look more complete. DMC

Hi everyone! My name is Jose Garro, and I'm from Costa Rica, Central America. Last year, I bought a 1974 KE20 from a friend's uncle. In general, the car is in a very solid state, and because of previous modifications, has good potencial as a project. It has a 5k engine, a 5 speed T50 tranny, and a OEM brake booster (I believe from a newer Corolla or Starlet). The previous owner put in a set of wide 12" wheels, with low profile tires, and because the bad roads we have in Costa Rica, the suspension (bushings, dampers) and the underbody was in a very bad condition. Also, all the body rubber is, literally speaking, toasted, and the rust problems tipical of this Corollas are p…

Hey Guys, New here and just purchased my first KE20 1973, like the title says 25,000 original miles, owned by an elderly lady from new, she drove it up until ten years ago when she lost her license, the car was then stored in a garage up until two months ago when she passed and left the car to her son who sold it to me. It has the original dealer sticker, original number plates, original spare tyre, tool roll etc... and it drives so well too Let me know what you think?

Hi All, This is my first post here because i have not owned a corolla for about 15 years... and now i do. I have owned 4/5 ke20 corollas in my teens, my first one given to me by my brother @ 12 years old! thanks bro! (I only crashed one of them.. the rest were destroyed by siblings/friends, and I will NEVER forgive them! ) My project: A slightly rusty (not too bad) unfinished and unstarted project car bought for next to nothing. The guy I bought it off got it as an unfinished project years ago, and never started finishing it. I hope to do a bit better ;) First off I must say this will be a total budget build using as much cheap/free stuff as I can …

Ok so I paid for this tonight and it will be getting picked up by my towie by the end of the week!! Originally I was buying it for parts for my brother in laws 20 but after looking at it tonight I might have fallen for it. A few ideas I had for it: 1. Hillclimb/Track Day Special/Drifter/Super Sprinter 2. Mild Street/plus no.1 3. Street Car 4. Cut it in half and turn it into a trailer 5. Summernats Special Convertible Might be too much work to sort out rego to get it back on the road which is why some ideas don't involve rego. When I get it here I will be able to make more of an idea of what to do with it. Some options for engines include: 1. …

Hi, I got given a couple of ke20's, and bought smallport 4age, 22 spline t50, custom tailshaft, custom headers and 2 core radiator for $1500 to go in since my mate is changing to a 4AGTE. my mate has made me engine mounts to suit as well as welding the stocker diff mounts onto a ke55 diff. will probably go haltech e6x computer like everyone else. i have started plumbing in new brake lines (my mate lent me the tool for that but they are only $65 anyways). I put a r…

3K began to chew oil, valve seals gone, bottom end barings gone, few other tiddley bits going pear shaped. Decided to send it to engine hospital and have a makeover. I know, a 3K is not worth it but it is something to waste money on. Step one. Took out the engine. Took half a day. Step two. Pulled every thing apart. Send bits off. Turned out two of the rear cylinders had absolutely NO water flow around them, totally cloged with crap. Good time to pull apart it would seem. The cam was absolutely hammered aswell. Lots of uneven ware. Step three. Bit of a clean up and some maintinence. Went to town on the engine bay, spent…

I bought this ke20 off ebay, most of you have seen it already. Its mods are: Bigport 4age T50 Locked ke20 diff Haltech Computer Accord seats 16 inch Simmons B45 wheels (8 inch front and 9 inch rear!) Ta22 struts, brakes and LCA Autometer gauges Ford TB and custom intake Basically I'm going to use this car as a daily till i get my ke35 on the road then we will see what happens. It has some problems: brake Master cylinder is stuffed and too small for the ta22 calipers T50 is hard to down shift into 2nd and 3rd gears. Wires need a tidy up and same with the interior. Other than that I'm very happy with it. Here are some shots: (these just…

Well I know I said to myself and everyone else I wouldn't touch this one but how can you not???? It's begging for the Craig touch. Big front brakes, bigger drums and a 5speed at least. I'v done a little bit of research today. R31 struts should almost be a bolt in affair. (Haha. Bolt in. Who am I kidding??) The bolt spacing for the steering arm is 80mm just like the ke20 and the strut height is only 20mm longer than a ke20. Probably end up with a little bit of increased track. I am just waiting to find out what the ID of the r31 spring is so I can work out whether or not I need to convert them to coilovers. That's it for now apart from giving it a was…

Hello all i have finally got some pics of my work in progress , about february the 3K in my KE25 had just about had enough So i got myself a 16V 4AGE with T50 , it was all setup for RWD (plenum , thermostat , etc) and ripped out the 3K and got to work . First up me and my Dad put the engine in its place with the AE71 mounts that it came with , no go , the mounts were too wide for the brackets on the x-member so we had to get started on making up some custom ones these are the mounts the me & Dad came up with , made from 6mm steel plate . we used MDF board to get the shape of the mount pieces and used them as a template on the 6mm steel , cu…

hi all, i have been on this site for a while now. I picked up this 1971 ke25 which was a bit of a mess. it was a stolen and recovery vehicle, which the owner no longer wanted to keep. She sold it to me around 4yrs ago. I have been working on it in my spare time, trying to find all the rare bits that i needed to replace. It was a toyoglide when i got it, but the glide in it was gone. I converted it myself to a 5spd manual. I have completed all the mechanical work on this car myself, and i mean myself. No one was even around to give me a hand to lift or hold anything. interior is near excellent condition. I have replaced all the bushes , ball joints , ti…

Hi All. Scotland based newbie here, with a KE25 imported from Australia. The long term plan here is to do a restoration with a 4AGE running on carbs. To then be used for fun and the occasional track day. When I bought it: It was white, unmolested, no previous welding done and relatively rust free (for Scottish standards at least). When it was in Australia: When it arrived with me: First impressions were pretty good. Got it rolled into the garage and started making a list of parts I needed. There was some damage in shipping from Aus as you can see in the photos - Worst being the front apron and indicator lights needing som…
